I thought Boomslang was well written. The hero is not big and muscular like everyday ones, He uses his brain and knowledge. All the characters have there weaknesses and strengths which are masterfully written, and show them use these in the book. If you are lokking for suspense, sadness, and intrigue Richard has put them all into this book. Also having the snakes point of view was exceptional a unique twist on this story. All and all it was well written keeps you guessing till the end. If you like snakes or hate them Boomslang is the one to read.

Now I have not yet fully read this book, but I sat with Richard earlier this evening as he gave a excerpt from the book to one of the more chilling points of the rising climax and I was thoroughly impressed. The use of description in this book is nothing short of being able to close your eyes and actually see what is happening at that exact moment. If you need more proof to buy this book, then definitly head over to a B&N and check it out. Very well worth the time to get your hands onto it.

This book is one of the best I have read. I like the way Blackston gives the snakes point of view. I also liked it when the girl was hiding under the bathroom sink and the giant snake was after her! Chilling! fast paced! I never knew who was going to escape! I also thought that the situation with the snake was all very plausible. The over all story scared me!

I really liked this book. The characters, the setting and the story. And if your thinking this is just another Monster in the closet story...its not. While the bare basics of the story has been seen before it HAS NOT been told like this. Very Refreshing. The people populating the book are all very human. Not your typical this is the hero, this is the bad guy and this is the damsel in distress setting. All the characters have their flaws, their own personal demons. Whether you like them or not you do end up understanding and feeling for each one of them. Which can break your heart seeing as you never know who is going to get out alive... And I love the fact that parts of the story are told from the snakes point of view. Its a great way to an all around feel of the environment you get locked into. But before I give to much a way, check this one out. I think you will enjoy it greatly. I know I am already looking forward to the next book Mr. Blackston releases.
