Rolland Love’s writing style is compared to 😇 Mark Twain’s timeless adventures of Tom Sawyer. Rolland’s coming of age memoir is a tale of joy, learning and loss growing up when folks pulled together to make a life in the beautiful, and at times forbidding, Ozark Mountains. Self-sufficient in a land of rushing streams, haunted caves and deep woods. Google Rolland to see why so many readers love to read about his real-life adventures.

Born Dead on a Winter's Night is one of (8) books published by Rolland Love. Other book titles, which have received over 500 five star reviews are Blue Hole, River's Edge, Dark Side Stories. (Mystery Suspense, very scary but all ends well) Ozark Mountains Fishing Stories. (How to catch the big ones) Love's Look @ Ozark Life, #1 Ozark Mountain's Back In The Day Memories, #2 Back in The Day More Ozark Mountains Memories, (Award winning stories that provide insights into the Good, Bad and Ugly growing up in the Ozarks.) Toe Tags & TNT. (The only adult book Love has written. Is based on being abducted by a psychotic old man and held hostage in and RV for 1,000 miles from Las Vegas to the Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, Missouri. TNT is blood curdling hilarious and full of dark humor.)

Growing up in the Ozark Mountains in a self-sufficent family Rolland learned to write and tell stories from an old moonshiner when he help his uncle run a fishing camp during the summer.

Love was born dead in the dead of winter, still as a stone. Doc Barnes, a tall rugged-looking man with bushy white hair, worked frantically when he realized there was trouble. His white shirt covered in blood and the flickering light of a kerosene lamp added ghost-like dimension. Cold enough to see your breath, the only source of heat came from a cast iron wood-burning stove in the living room of a farm house. Love was saved because Doc carried him outside and rolled him in snow that covered the ground from a midwinter storm. The cold caused him to take a breath and began to cry.

Rolland say's he's pretty sure starting life dead has had an effect. Often, he feels, sees or thinks about something and it stalks him. Intuition has been his companion since he was a kid. Many readers say they experience the same syndrome.

"Rolland Love is an excellent storyteller. He writes about his real life experiences and he writes from the heart. Funny, too, like Mark Twain. This is not just my personal opinion. I have 4 years of 5th grade students who agree from reading Rolland's fine work that he's one of the best. Some of his stories are scary but everything he writes end well. All ages love his tales.
