This story was written as well as Atonement and has the same characters as in the first story…and I loved it equally well. The crimes were chilling, the suspense intense, the family traumas realistic and the romance hard won but terrific. This story about Boyce, an FBI agent from out of town, and Cassy, a local detective, is another romantic suspense coup for the author!

I am thoroughly enjoying this series! Austin has taken the idea of romantic suspense and run with it to create something completely her own. The plot of this tale is intricately woven, creating a whole that kept me on my toes to the end. The modulating pace of the tale highlighted certain aspects while never lagging or racing. I enjoyed getting back in touch with the characters from the first novel of the series, while also getting to know the new players. The initial antagonism between the main characters was off the charts, as was the chemistry. The backstory was also fantastic. All in all, this was a great read. I’d recommend it to those who enjoy a good romantic suspense. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
