Bottled Bluegrass (Bourbon Springs, #7) by Jennifer Bramseth

Welcome to the Land of Bourbon and Bluegrass…Welcome to Bourbon Springs, Kentucky…

Spread your wings...or open your heart?

Mack Blanton is back home in Bourbon Springs after a brief attempt at Nashville stardom. Frustrated and restless, he desperately wants to return Music City to do the thing he loves more than anything else—make music.

Local lawyer Jorrie Jones works for a millionaire horse farm owner and gets to regularly make billable visits to her wonderful client as well as the bourbon distillery across the road. But she wonders whether there are bigger and better things in store for her beyond the confines of little Craig County, Kentucky.

Yet when these two meet at a wedding, plans and hearts begin to change. Mack can’t stop writing songs for the woman he can’t stop thinking about. And Jorrie realizes that small-town life definitely has its attractions in the form and voice of Mack Blanton.

As these two discover the simple gifts of love, their future is threatened by Mack’s past and present. Will he choose to return to Nashville or build a life in Bourbon Springs?

Bottled Bluegrass is the seventh book in the Bourbon Springs Series.

I liked it, but it just didn't have the same quality and cohesiveness of the previous Bourbon Springs books. Maybe it's time to end the series and move on to something else.

Tears....there were lots of tears! This is the most emotional book of the series so far and I loved it! It's my new least until I read the next! Mack and Jorrie are fantastic, they both have demons and it is a heart breaking journey for them before they finally realise they are far stronger together, they need each other to survive and finally find happiness. Once again Bourbon Springs is full of surprises and there is heart break not only for Mack and Jorrie, but for more of our Bourbon Springs family too........I had to stop at one point as the tears were streaming and the words were too blurred to read, however there is also plenty of happiness too to offset this heart break with weddings and babies galore! Love this series and cannot wait to read book 8

I loved how this book brought so many things together. Mack and Jorrie's story was wonderful to read and was the perfect example of how two people can go from strangers to being in love in such a short period of time. If you have been reading the previous books you will find this book full of information regarding ther other characters.

Jorrie surprised me, she seemed like a confident lawyer that knew what she wanted but as we got to really know her, we find the same insecurities most of us have. As she navigates staying in Bourbon Springs or moving to the big city, Mack crosses her path. Mack found quick success as a singer in Nashville but then he learned the hard way how fickle the music industry really is. This forces him back to Bourbon Springs with his tail between his legs to live with his dad and rebuild his life. A chance meeting with Jorrie when he crashes a wedding reminds him why he sings in the first place. This is a wonderful journey of two people that help each other find their direction in life, will they also find love?

Oh to have Bourbon Springs be a real place in Kentucky. With this the seventh book in the series, all the characters feel so much like family and friends who I wish I could visit. Ms Bremseth has once again created two memorable characters that dig down to your marrow in the feelings they evoke. Mack and Jorrie are two more fine characters to add to the Bourbon Springs family that stay with you long after the story ends. Mack's loving caring nature, brought out in his songs, would be a true treasure to actually be able to hear sing; I imagine his voice sounding very much like Country Music singer Chris Young. Jorrie compliments Mack completely in her giving nature in how she is able to get right to his core nearly from their first meeting. The songs that Mack has written, are a testament to Ms Bremseth's writing genius...they are poetry that I wish I could hear set to music. I always look forward to her books and characters because I know I'll never be disappointed in the "new" she brings to the table, in this book it was the mysterious Wedding Bourbon brought to light. This book was provided by the author for my honest review.

Gifts, those we can give to ourselves and to others were the underlying theme of this book. Mack Blanton achieved part of his ultimate goal in Nashville then things changed radically and he returned home to Bourbon Springs. His ego took a beating but he still loves music and will never give it up completely. Jorrie Jones meets Mack at a wedding in the first chapter of the book…a wedding he had no idea he was crashing… and both Jorrie and Mack were attracted to one another. Her idea for him to sing a song as a gift to the bride and groom was well received and provided results he had not seen coming his way. With Mack and Jorrie both unsure where their futures will lead they are not sure they want to start a relationship. They are drawn to one another and enjoy being together but wonder if they will stay together for a summer or if there is potential for forever. Add into the mix some evil characters, some scary happenings, wonderful lyrics for songs, romance, caring and sharing, friendships, family, marriages and more and a wonderful story has been created and is just waiting for you to read it. I liked Mack and his tenacity and his eventual realizations about himself. I loved Albert, Mack’s grandfather, what a hoot he was! Jorrie was a bit more complex with her trust issues but I liked her strength and willingness to pursue what she thought was best for her future. The other characters from previous books were fun to catch up with and the introduction of the characters for the next two books in the series provided just enough information to whet my appetite for more reading. Gifts – they are wonderful and sometimes can change lives forever. Thank you to the author for the copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. 4.5 Stars

Mack is an easily identifiable character. Mack is made up of each and every member of the human race at one time or another. Attempting to make dreams a reality but hitting the requisite roadblocks along the way. Bottle Bluegrass takes me back to some of the most heartbreaking moments in my life however, it also yells out loud and clear "keep pushing forward". Success may not happen on the first try or in the way we want but that is the beauty of life. Expect the unexpected. I received an ARC of Bottled Bluegrass by Jennifer Bramseth in exchange for an honest review. Dreaming big allowed them something to work toward but the tunnel vision caused a disconnect from the blessings that had and for a while they lost sight of the important things. The Bourbon Springs stories are more sweet than sexy. There is a deeper meaning hidden in every love story that resonates in the heart even as the story ends.
