Chapter 1

“Get here. Pronto. Shit is going down!”

There are only three reasons my real estate assistant, Liv Sloan, sent me the vague text on Monday morning.
One, the deal for my last clients, who fled the lively Haight-Ashbury area to raise their family in the quiet and quaint Cole Valley district, fell apart.

Two, our boss is in a mood.

Three, a pair of Liv’s beloved high-heel shoes suffered a wretched death.

Stuffed inside the elevator, a block away from Union Square, with rank perfume smells tickling my nose, I wonder over Liv’s message. All three reasons are totally up her alley. She’s dramatic, but in a cute, funny way that I love.
When the elevator doors chime open, I ease my way out, entering Richardson Real Estate, and frown. While I love my job, the offices are a whole other thing. They’re in need of a major upgrade, which is the very reason I’m late today. I’d never meet clients in this run-down horror show.

I pass the empty waiting room, scrunching my nose against the stale smell hanging in the air, then pick up my pace, turning the corner down the main hallway, finding Liv standing by the watercooler near our cubicles.

“You’re not going to believe what’s happened,” she says, practically bursting with energy.

“Aliens have invaded Earth?” I offer.

“What?” She gives her head a slight shake, her brown curls bouncing on her shoulders. “Guess again.”

“Santa came early and brought you new Louboutin shoes?”

She gives me a playful nudge, her big, round brown eyes squinting. “Ha, I can only wish! Holt has bought out Richardson.”

I pause, waiting for her to say she’s joking. “You’re serious?”

She nods. “Very serious.”

A knot of worry tightens in my belly then I force myself to go numb. I’m a top-selling agent at Richardson. My job can’t be in jeopardy. This has to be good news, right? Still, I can’t wrap my head around it. Holt has made billions of dollars dealing in commercial properties. Richardson’s sales are only in the multi-millions, with a handful of agents selling middle-income homes. Sure, that’s Richardson’s strength in the San Francisco market, but why would Holt want to add it to their portfolio? Isn’t the middle-class market messy pocket change to them? “What in the world does Holt want with Richardson?” I voice my thoughts.

Liv gets herself a drink from the watercooler and then faces me. “From what I gathered, Holt wants to gobble up the entire real estate market. Businesses, high-class homes, middle-class homes; they want it all. Including taking the top agents at Richardson into Holt.”

Greedy pricks. They can’t be satisfied having a corner of the market to make their billions, they need to suck the whole damn thing dry. I lean against the cubicle next to us, my back straight as a pencil. “So, their plan is to swallow Richardson up?”

“To be honest, I don’t really know what the plan is.” She leans closer to me and tells me quietly, “They offered me a job at Holt. Which I guess means they’re taking you, too.”

“Indeed, that is the plan,” says a strong male voice.

Oh, shit!

This is truly an unexpected series. If the rest if yhe series follows this example I'll be in heaven Stacey Kennedy does a terrific job of introducing us to he new characters. Micah Holt... billionaire, charming, dominating, use to getting his way in all things. Allison (Allie) Parker..... Real Estate Agent extrodinaire. Wealthy in her own way but no one knows this. Darius Bennett ....... billionaire, Allie ' s step brother, Micsh ' friends and member of the DC which Micah belongs to. Micah meets Allie when he takes over the company that she works for and the minute they meet he knows she will be his. However things don't go the way he or she expects. The hurtle that the both jump through are unexpected on both side. I honestly thought there would be more down right dirty no holds bar sex. But surprisingly the love story in this book captivated me more. Please buy or borrow this book to see the ups and downs that these to go through and how they survive. Because that's what it is survival .

Their's is a story of love at first sight having to overcome the dark past of the hero. Only a woman who knows her worth and has the strength to face his demons head on can win the ultimate prize: the love of her life!

I liked Allie and Micah and their story but I felt there was more that could've been explored and sometimes it felt flat. Allie's a successful real estate agent and Micah is a rich, smart, sexy and knows what and who he wants business man. So, they both try to fight their attraction at some point due to their personal demons. That's fine. My issues were that it took too long for Micah's "dark side" to come out and up to then there were very little sightings of it. In regards to Allie, I wanted there to at least be a conversation about her "fears" of dating a rich and successful man. Lastly, the story was missing those three little powerful words. They are inferred but never said. A bit of a let down for a couple that ends where they do. Great set up for Darius and Taylor's book. Hoping it delves deeper into the DC!!!

In this novel, we see great writing and a beautiful storyline. I found myself skimming over unnecessary details at several points...long descriptions of places we would only see once or twice in the story. But still, I found myself drawn to see how Allie's story would end.

Real estate mogul Micah Holt exerts absolute control over all aspects of his life. He keeps his dark side hidden away from the press, who will chase down any hint of scandal. He’s always in command of his world, careful to expose his closely guarded secrets only to those he knows he can trust. Then Allie Bennett shakes his legendary discipline. She’s beautiful, pure, untainted. But is Micah willing to sacrifice her innocence for his own selfish obsessions? When that sexy smile makes her body burn, Allie tries with all her might to ignore it. For one thing, Micah's her new boss. For another, he's as complicated as he is devastatingly handsome. Still, Allie can only fight so much before she gives in to his dangerous games. She knows he's got dark secrets. But when she discovers the true depth of his pain, Allie must decide how far she's willing to go to light the way for love. Review: This is the first in a new series centered around the men who form the DC (Dominate Club). The DC is kept as sort of a mystery, we know that each man owns a different kind of a kink club, but really that is about all we learn. This story features as its first couple, Micah and Allie. They meet when Micah buys out the company Allie works for. The sparks are instantaneous and palpable. Allie tries to keep Micah at arms length because of her mother's past relationship experiences. But Micah is patient, thoughtful and shows her that not all men are the same. This is a first book, so time is spent getting us familiar with Allie, Micah and some of the characters I am sure we will see in later books. I did find it odd that other than talking about the clubs and really only one visit to Micah's club, I expected the DC to play a much larger role. Ms. Kennedy is good at writing stories full of sexy goodness and emotion. This is a good beginning and cannot wait to see what else the DC has to offer. 3.5Stars *I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.*

A smoking hot read but one filled with so many emotions I cried. Every once in a while you read a series that is so hot it burns a hole in the pages but this book has more meat to the characters and a story that burns a hole in your heart then slowly heals it. From the first chapter the author holds you spellbound as you watch the intense verbal play between Micah and Allie. This is one caring, kind and feisty girl who knows how to take care of herself and others. Allie's character is refreshing as she just takes what she wants and stays true to herself throughout the book. The most impressive thing about her is that she can see through a persons actions to what is tormenting them and she tries above all things to understand what drives a person. Micah is a rather interesting man and his character was well balanced between hard edged while being soft and kind in a hidden part of himself. His character had more substance then just money. I found him intriguing as he tried to win over Allie and it was heart warming watching his facade crack and a new person emerge. This story deals with abuse, death, suicide, dark desires, forgiveness, love, helping others and protecting peoples rights. It really is not a depressing or darkly intense read. More to the point it is about finding the one person who can control the demons that you live with and loving you inspite of everything about you.. From the epilogue I cannot wait for the next book to this new series that will tell Taylor and Darius's intense story. I give this 5 STARS for not only being a smoking hot read but one filled with so many emotions I cried. A copy was gifted via Netgalley

I really enjoyed her Club Sin series, and these characters were introduced there. This is the first book in her new series and I loved it. The characters are so relatable and well written. They have flaws but, they are strong. I like that she writes about Alphas with a soft side and female leads that are strong and independent. Can't wait for the next book.

Soooooo hot! Yes, that is all I can think about when I think about this book. Loaded with delicious heat and an amazing male lead in Micah, you can feel the intensity just rolling off of him. With flashes of darkness in his past, he tries to control his deepest desires but Allie is breaking down barriers he wants to control.... including her. Sensual, delectable, and so damn hot, this story include fringes of BDSM but loads of passion and fire that will suck you in. I want more and Stacey Kennedy is just to one to feed that addiction!

Two strong, powerful, scarred individuals with two separate secrets. Micah is a powerful business man who buys up corporations to dismantle them and keeps the top earners for his own company. Allie is a top realtor who is asked to join the ranks of Holt Enterprises. She negotiates to keep her old company going and against his better judgement, Micah agrees because of his strong attraction to the beautiful Allie. While I found the premise to the story a little cliché (strong, smart, business man with a flair for kink falls for the sexy, strong, but naïve business woman who is new to the world of BDSM), this story and their secrets made it much more than just that. Each character had flaws, even though they presented an appearance of having it all together. And, each one had a secret they wanted to be kept hidden from the rest of the world. About the characters – while I enjoyed Micah and his dominant personality, I did not connect or find Allie very likable. She hated money because her mother told her it was “dirty” and men with money were bad. Yes, she was frugal and lived within her means of what she made from her job, but hating people with money who worked hard to earn it and then whine about the money spent was a little too much for me. I’m not sure why this annoyed me, but it did and it’s the first time I did not enjoy a character by this author. As for the actual story – I found it well done and about more than just the BDSM scene. Yes, Micah was a Dominant, but he gave a lot of control to Allie without thinking about it and that spoke volumes (in my mind). Allie is strong willed, but the fact that she submits to Micah, and only Micah, speaks volumes! While I had one issue with this story, it didn’t keep me from enjoying the rest of the book. It is not one of my favorites from this author, but it is still a great read for those that enjoy this genre. *Copy provided for review.

Irresistible Bound Beneath His Pain is the first book in the Dirty Little Secrets series, and stands alone, but we may see other lead characters in each successive book as these stories intertwine around a main theme. It takes us into the kinky world of the Dominant’s Council, four men who are friends and business associates, each owning a sex club in San Francisco. This is Allie and Micah’s story. Though Allison Parker and Micah Holt have that instant attraction, and underneath the tension holds a promise of sizzling chemistry, it’s not so much the plot line that grabbed me, but Ms. Kennedy’s fluid writing style. She minces no words and each is utilized in driving the emotional connection of our two lovers. I was mesmerized by the depth and intensity of these two characters, each with the heartache of past tragedy that’s molded them into untrusting individuals. Allie’s apprehensive to be involved with Micah because he’s rich, entitled, and famous. Being seen with him means she’ll be dragged through the tabloids, and she can’t risk the secret she’s kept to maintain her privacy and normal life, one that allows others to see the real person. Micah believes his dark desires need to be kept under control, however, sharing them with Allie might prove too much, a risk he’s not willing to do. He wants to protect Allie from his dirty secret and dark past, but he can’t resist her sweetness, loyalty and gentle heart. Allie is one woman who makes him feel complete. The more time spent together shows different sides of Micah that has Allie rethinking the type of man he really is. Micah has integrity, warmth, and compassion, but he’s also a strong dominant. I just loved how Allie fought for Micah, showing him she’s the woman he needs to handle his darkness. I was really fighting for these two, and the ending along with the epilogue was, oh so, satisfying. Bound Beneath His Pain is equal parts sexy, passionate and emotional. It is irresistible and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It contains very light elements of BDSM. The epilogue also takes a look into the next book. I can’t wait for Darius and Taylor’s story. NUMBER OF HEARTS: 2 1/2 I enjoyed how Stacey wrote this story from both Micah and Allie’s points of view. It was really nice to get the story from both of them. Bound Beneath His Pain was a good story, but there was something missing for me. I didn’t really connect with the characters. I am not sure what it was maybe it was just my mood or time. But I struggled with this story. I hope that the next book in this series will grab my attention more. I really liked this story. Micah is an amazing character, always so in control and keeping his secrets buried deep. Allie helps Micah come out of the darkness and face the light, but will his darkness eventually be too much for her? Plenty of drama and suspense in this steamy read. The story is very emotional and both characters are hiding a lot of secrets. Looking forward to more in the series.

I received an ARC from in exchange for an honest review.... As much as I love Stacey Kennedy I wish this book came with some trigger warnings prior to the book. I was triggered hard by this book and had a hard time separating personal experiences from the actual characters. So my reveiw is going to be different from most peoples. I did enjoy the book for the most part. It was sexy as usual and well written. Micah is hot and I want more of him. Plus I can't wait to see where the next book takes us. However if you are looking for a Club Sin repeat you will not find it. This is not a heavy BDSM book. It dabbles but not it's not a full on. It does mention suicide and have a pretty graphic scene about it. I know that is a hard place for some people to go.

Oh my gracious....what a book! This is a great beginning of a new series and I look forward to reading each book!! Micah is a real estate mogul and in complete control of his life....always! Of course, he has his share of secrets but they are only known to him. He's in complete control until....Allie comes into his life. He's her new boss and oh boy is she sweet and innocent!! For the first time Micah can feel his control slipping because of Allie. Will he gain control again or is he too far gone with her? Can Allie avoid his advances? This, as are all Stacey Kennedy, books was amazing!! Loved the characters and the whole story! I'm anxiously awaiting the next installment! Thanks to Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept via NetGalley for a copy of this book!

4.5** Bound Beneath His Pain is the first book in Stacy Kennedy’s new series called Dirty Little Secrets. I have not read a book by her and I have to say, I’m glad I got the chance. So, I read that it is a spin off her other series Club Sin and if this is how Ms Kennedy writes, I’ll definitely be interested in reading the rest. Characters, Allie Bennett and Micah Holt, are two different people with their own secrets. Micah, the real estate magnate, exerts his dominance in all areas of his life, including his personal and professional life. Being in the spotlight, he needs to keep his secret hidden from the paparazzi, who hunt him for any type of defamation. This book is delectable, so VERY hot and includes parts of BDSM but it is loaded with fiery passion that makes you keep turning the pages. LOVE IT!!! SO HOT!!!!

Bound Beneath his Pain by Stacey Kennedy was a first for me from this author. I was highly impressed and glad I found this little gem. The story was well written and flowed great. Bound Beneath his Pain is my favorite kind of book. I love the falling in love with your brothers best friend type of books and this one was done right! The story starts with Allies company being bought out by the billionaire Micah Holt. Micah and Allie have chemistry from the very beginning but Allie has been thought to not fall for men with money. She fights the pull that she has for Micah, turning him down at every step. Micah is not a man that hears the word no and he won't give up until he has Allie right where he wants her. When Micah find out Allie is his best friend sister he pushes her away leaving him broken unlike he's ever been before. Will these two ever learn to trust each other? You will have to read to see for yourself. I'm also excited to see if the author will give the other men in the DC group their story. I would love to read Darius and Taylor's story. I highly recommend this book. It's full of hot alpha male with a strong independent women. It's a must read. I was given this ARC for my honest opinion.

A Definite Must Read!! Micah Holt the very sexy and handsome Real Estate mogul is totally captivated by his newest employee the sassy and beautiful Allie Bennett. he learns that Allie is different from the people he is used to and she stirs up emotions that scare him because he has to stay in control of things and when Allie is around all control is lost she gives to him without taking and nobody has ever done that without wanting something in return, Allie and Micah both have secrets one more damaging than the other and when Micahs secret has been accidently revealed to Allie he prays that Allie will not walk away and expose his darkest secret to the world. but surprising him even more than she already has she embraces his secret and gives herself to him completely.

Put this book on your TBR list ASAP! Bound Beneath His Pain is a passionately, sexy read with a touch of darkness that will have you reading long into the night Allie is an independent, self-made woman who has already made a name for herself in the real estate world at just twenty-five. She walks into work one morning to find her company has been sold to real estate giant Holt Industries, owned by sexy billionaire Micah Holt. Micah Holt himself is there. They have an instant connection from the moment their eyes meet. Micah wants Allie as an employee and in his bed. Both Allie and Micah have things in their pasts that make them hesitant when it comes to love. Allie’s past with money has made her jaded when it comes to wealthy men and their lifestyles. Micah had a rough childhood and has a penchant for kinky sex that he keeps hidden from almost everyone. They both have secrets that interfere with their relationship. I really loved Bound Beneath His Pain. I had trouble putting it down and it definitely has all the feels.

I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. 'Bound Beneath His Pain' by Stacey Kennedy is book one in the "Dirty Little Secrets" series. This book does have a very small cliffhanger that set you up for the next couple for book two. Nothing major but just wanted to mention it. I not sure I can say enough about this book! It had the hot alpha male hero Micah Holt who hasn't done a relationship since he was engaged and it ended badly. Micah has always felt guilty for his fiancé and what happened to her after she found out his sexual preference. So Micah has been only in non permit relationships except for a women that knows the score on what he needs. Allie Bennett is the women that is trying to make it on her own and go by the lesson her mother taught her. That money does not mean happiness and that people are what really matter. Allie parents died when she was around 15 years old. Her older half-brother who she hadn't really know took her in and tired to get her to be open with his money and the rich lifestyle. But even though Allie and her brother grew close she wanted to be her own person. Allie and Micah meet when Micah is taking over a Real state company that Allie works at. When they meet they are both attracted to each other and although Allie tries to fight it, Micah wants to go forward with it. This deals with Micah wanting Allie but he doesn't think he can became what he thinks she needs. Allie has a hard time getting past him being well off and his sometimes cold treatment. Really hot, emotional page turner! Loved it!

Stacey Kennedy has a real knack for catching your interest early on and drawing you in into the story. This book is certainly no exception. I was hooked almost from word one and I absolutely did not want to put the book down. The characters were so real and true and so beautifully flawed. Micah, who has buried his heart and true desires, seemingly content to only make money, and Alley, who refuses to even give him a chance because of past hurts involving rich men, definitely have obstacles to overcome. You just can't help but become invested in the main characters of Micah and Alley, but even the supporting characters of Darius and Taylor have you rooting for them as well. The journey that these characters take is truly incredible. It is one of self-realization, self-awareness, self-metamorphosis, and of learning to give and receive love. I found this book, overall, to be provocative, intriguing, impassioned, captivating, and completely riveting. I would highly recommend it, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series. * I received an advanced copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

I received an ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review and here it is: 3 stars Bound Beneath His Pain is the first novel in Ms. Kennedy's new Dirty Little Secrets series, and is a bit of a spin-off from her Club Sin series, which I read and thoroughly enjoyed, and which was hinted at by the mention of the DC (Dominant's Council) at the end of that series. However, this novel, while an entertaining read, was far too derivative of a number of other sources, primarily the 50 Shades series, a number of other kinky billionaire novels as well as borrowing several scenes straight from the film Pretty Woman, to give this very light BDSM tale more than a 3-star rating. The main characters, billionaire corporate raider Micah Holt, and realtor Allison (Allie) Parker meet just as Micah's company, Holt Enterprises, is poised to buy Richardson Realty, the company for which Allie works. She and her assistant, Liv, are offered promotions and salary increases at Holt, and while Liv is thrilled with and accepts the rather generous offer, Allie, who knows of Micah Holt's exploits from the tabloids, pushes for more money for both herself and Liv, as well as the promise that Micah will not break up Richardson Realty or sell it off. Her ability to seem unaffected by his power, money and good looks is intriguing to Micah, something he's unused to, and to which he's strongly drawn. Both he and Allie begin their courtship, both harboring secrets of their own. Allie's half-brother is worth billions too, and thanks to his generosity, she has a healthy trust fund which she's never touched, preferring to earn her own money. Micah's dirty little secrets are that he likes what I would consider mildly kinky sex, and that he's a member of the Dominant's Council which has cornered the market on sex clubs in the city. Earlier in his life, Micah's young fiance accidentally discovered his taste for kink and ended their relationship. He now hides his kinky side from Allie, fearing that she will react in a similar fashion. Why he refers to his sexual tastes as demons from his dark side eluded me, and would have been more believable had the story been set in an earlier time or if his sexual tastes has been more extreme. In today's anything goes society, his sexual tastes seemed pretty mainstream to this reader. All in all, the novel held my interest, and I'm curious enough to want to see where this new series goes and how the other members of the DC fare.

Bound Beneath His Pain was amazing. Micah and Allie were phenomenal together and the whole book felt new and fresh. The characters, even the secondary characters are so dynamic I enjoyed getting to know them. I know their will be future books and I just can't wait! Micah is full of secrets and mystery as well as being a huge iconic figure. Allie has her own secrets and works hard to keep them hidden. Micah does something he hasn't done in a long while and he pursues Allie. While Allie hides and tries not to be caught. But no one can hide from Micah for long, he always gets what he wants. Both are so broken in their own ways and confused by what each makes the other feel. This book was a powerful read in that it brings two broken people together in a way that glues them back together as well as makes them closer to another person than they have ever felt before. The descriptive writing was excellent, the sex scenes were HOT. These two will melt the pages I promise. If you enjoy a very sexy, romance with a bit of naughtiness you will love this. I highly recommend it.

This was a hot and slightly dark read. There is a nice amount of romance but there isn't a lot of room for lightheartedness or humor in BBHP. If you think the cover is hot the scenes between Micah and Allie are liable to make you melt into a blissful puddle of satisfaction. Yeah, the smexy times are that good! The author definitely started the first in the series with a strong group of characters and just enough info to keep you curious about what's in store next.. That being said, I still found this one a hard one to rate. I liked Holt with Allie and how he goes outside of his comfort zone and breaks his rules for her. I like Allie, she's not your typical virgin/inexperienced h. She's smart and independent and she didn't let Holt call all the shots in their relationship. I liked the side characters - the other members of the DC, Allie's best friend, her brother, and her spunky assistant - they grabbed my attention for the short page time they were given. I didn't so much enjoy the drawn out reveal to his big secret. I didn't like how he didn't learn from his past mistakes with Clara (Dead ex) and was going to continue in this vein with Allie. I really didn't like his relationship with Juliet - there would be no way I'd be okay with my man working so closely with the woman he'd been in a Dom/sub relationship with for the past three years! Nope, not okay!!! Then taking advice from said woman to give him what he craves! It just felt wrong that Allie had to learn this side of him from his past lover!! Allie was too understanding/accepting for my tastes. Overall it was an okay read, maybe a little more development between the MCs would have solidified their relationship. I don't think Holt needed to wax on so much regarding Juliet, especially since she only makes a few sparse appearances. Once I read his thoughts and got the gist of his past relationship with her, it kind of put a damper on this supposed intense emotional pull he felt for the h. Insta-love just didnt feel believable. Ended with a HFN with talk of marriage. *** ARC provided for an honest review ***
