Oh where to start with this book? I thought I was getting a check, an alternate point of view, to a story I already knew. That was what it started out as, but it became so much more, so big, and seperate, and unique, and heart-wrenching all on it's own! This is a mafia story, these men and women hold no illusions about their world, and who they are in it. It is dark, gritty, and violent, but they are people who love each other, and that needs to find a place in their world as well If you have read the previous books, any or all of them, you get to see what was going on with Luca and Aria while Matteo, Gianna, Romero, and Lily, have their stories unfold. A little of Cora and Growl and a smidge of Dante and Val, but their stories didn't play out in New York, so understandable. We also get a wee bit of Fabi to what your appetite. If you haven't read any of the other books, you are still in for a wildly emotional ride, because this is complete and stands all by itself. It has enough context that new readers won't be lost, and experienced readers won't be bored. This started out, and I was okay, yeah I know that, interesting, and I was liking it and enjoying the differing viewpoints. And then, a little past about a third of the way in, it hit me, the things we didn't already know. The stage was familiar, but this story, these experiences were new. I was completely drawn in, enthralled, and couldn't stop reading. Then it hit, the tears started flowing while my heart twisted, my emotions ricocheted, and the pain of the situation settled over me. Then I really couldn't stop, I needed to know how they overcame this, what the future held, and, goddess please, stop the hurting. Of course, after putting me through the wringer, and then some, they do. Then we see the strength that is Luca and Aria, that them together, are so much stronger then the individual. Their love and devotion know no bounds, and we get to witness the forging of the steel that binds them. Aria will always follow Luca into the dark, and be his light to find his way - perfection!

If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would. BORN BY BLOOD. SWORN BY BLOOD. Wow, Cora Reilly really outdid herself with this one. I'd like to say that I am surprised, but I'm not - each book that she releases gets better and better. There is a reason readers have voted her books in the Top Mafia Romances of Goodreads. Luca and Aria Vitiello from the Bound by Honor story continues in Bound By Love and it is loaded with betrayal and death, and this time it's told in both Luca and Aria's POV. Luca "The Vice" Vitiello may be a man in love, but he is still as ruthless as ever. We see a side of him that we got a glimpse of in Bound By Honor, and I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. Aria Vitiello may be loyal to her husband, but she is still loyal to others. Aria's strength and forgiving nature are inspiring, I love how much her character has developed throughout the series, but yet still stayed true to her kind heartiness.

"Born in Blood. Sworn in Blood. Maybe I hadn't made a blood oath, but what bound me to him was stronger than any oath. I was bound by love." Bound by Love focuses on the couple who first introduced us to the Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles: Luca and Aria. They were and still are my favorite couple in this series, so I was excited to be reunited with them again. And how awesome is it that we get a full-length novel instead of a novella? I was a bit scared that I wouldn't love this book as the first one, but the author did such a great job in continuing Luca and Aria's story in a very intriguing way. After an HEA you normally don't get to see the struggles, and everyone knows that especially in a mafia book there are many of those. Cora kept me interested and engaged until the end. I loved seeing these characters interact and also see their POVs of when the previous books took place. Aria's sisters didn't really make it easy for Luca as a Capo, and Aria is of course caught in the middle. She wants to protect her siblings which results her going behind Luca's back. "There are few good things in our world, Luca, and if you find one, you cling to it with all your might. You are one of those good things in my life." Bound by Love is a beautiful and also dark contemporary romance. I absolutely loved seeing Luca and Aria grow as a couple and individuals. They have their ups and downs, and sometimes don't know how to handle them, but eventually will always come together because they love each other. Some parts of this book were heartbreaking and I wanted to smack Luca, but looking at how he was raised by his sadistic father, his behavior was the only way he knew how to get through things. I especially loved seeing Aria grow in this book, she became a very strong woman, who sometimes acted before thinking, but always had the best intentions. This follow-up to Luca and Aria's story was done very well, and it makes me even more excited for the upcoming books in this dark, sexy and intriguing world that Cora has created. I think fans of this author/series will be satisfied and enjoy this book.
