About the Author

Lisa was born in Santa Rosa, California, but that was only home for a year. A so-called "military brat," she lived in nine different houses and attended nine different schools by the time she was 14. Through all of the moves, her one constant was books. She read everything, from the entire Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden mystery series to her mother's books by Daphne du Maurier and Taylor Caldwell.

A widely published author, game writer, and journalist, Lisa has interviewed homeless women, the designer of the Batmobile, and a sex expert, to name just a few colorful characters. This experience, not to mention her own large, quirky family, led her to create some truly memorable characters in her Dreamslippers Series and other works, whether books or games.

Always a vivid dreamer, not to mention a wannabe psychic, Lisa feels perfectly at home slipping into suspects' dreams, at least in her imagination. Her husband isn't so sure she can't pick up his dreams in real life, though.

With a hefty list of awards and publications to her name, Lisa now lives in a small town in Washington State, but who knows how long that will last...

Strap yourself in, hold on, and enjoy the ride because this book is going to blow you away! I received a free e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. There's a lot of self-discovery going on in this book: Cat is still figuring out her considerable dreamslipping skills and is trying to decide if she wants to move to San Francisco to pursue a relationship with Jacob, Grace and Mick are diving into Seattle's dating scene, and the current case leads Grace and Cat into an underground sub-culture of Seattle's social life. While some people may be uncomfortable discussing or reading about kink, I thought it was unexpected and unique. I thoroughly enjoyed the narrative about the turns of events that took place in the underground world that Grace and Cat found themselves in; some of the dialogue and situations that the dreamslipping duo encounter are quite humorous. All of this merely scratches the surface of the subplots going on in this book, and I have yet to really discuss the mystery aspect of the book. Let's talk about the mystery; because this is a mystery, after all. To say it is complex is like saying that the Great Wall of China is a big wall. The clues to solve the mystery start coming together near the end, but they are so subtle that even I missed them. Yeah, you read that right; I have read dozens of mystery books, reviewed a few of them, and even my best guess was wrong. Brunette did an amazing job of ensuring that her readers will be guessing until the very end! Bound to the Truth is a tantalizing, surprising, and mind-bending mystery with larger-than-life personalities who are outstandingly down-to-earth. I loved every quirky adventure that Grace and Cat found themselves in, and I am dying to read more!

Robin and Nina are a married couple with an adopted little girl. Nina is a successful architect and Robin is the stay at home mom. When we start the story, Robin is craving something more than just being at home. You also get the feeling that there is more to Nina’s side of the relationship. But then Nina is killed and Robin hires Cat and Grace to find the killer. This is a great mystery with lots of action. Robin and Nina seem to have a perfect marriage from the outside but inside there are cracks. I loved Cat, she is a strong woman and I loved following along as they had to dig deep to find the killer. I will warn you, there is a lot about the sex scene in Seattle, almost more that I really wanted to know. It did really bother me but I can see how it might be TMI for some people. This is the second book in the Dreamslippers series that I have read. You can find my review for Framed and Burned here. Now I just need to go back and read Cat in the Flock. This is a great series and one that I recommend check out. I received Bound to the Truth from Sage’s Blog Tours for free. This has in no way influenced my opinion of this book.
