Acknowledging that there is much more to building a successful photography business than taking great pictures, this DVD shows how to build and run a thriving boutique baby photography studio. All aspects of the business end of a studio are explained, from designing an advertising campaign and planning a successful sales cycle to establishing effective operational and customer service processes. In addition to the back-office details, strategies for creating stunning imagesincluding working with emotional moms-to-be, nervous first-time parents, and finicky babiesare clearly presented. The low-volume, high-dollar nature of a studio specializing in baby photography can be challenging, but this road map to success will keep photographers working with clients from the first pregnancy shot to the first day of school and beyond.

In this book, Mimika Cooney not only shares information, but inspiration as well. Yes, the book has sections on how to shoot, but the wealth of knowledge in this book is in the early chapters on building your business; marketing your business using social marketing and other options; and the operations of going from a new customer, to bringing them back again, and again, and again. I would strongly suggest it as required reading for anyone looking to start or continue the maternity and baby part of their business.
Contains tons of information! Lots of good ideas. It is targeted at those trying to have a wealthier customer base. Will be most helpful if you can have your own studio. Good source for those breaking into the world of photography. I like the examples of baby protraits. I wish it had more maternity portrait advice. I don't have a studio, but it inspired me to create one!
