"A sassy new voice."—Roxanne St. Claire, New York Times bestselling author

"Engaging and down-to-earth…features characters readers can root for." --Library Journal

In this sexy series, author Gail Chianese celebrates the heart—and the heat—of modern dating. This time, a temporary boyfriend may be the right man for a permanent position…

The only girl in a family of three brothers, Tawny Torres has had enough of waiting on men. She has her life and her career all mapped out, and neither includes an apron, an iron, or a husband—yet. But when a new job emphasizes a healthy balance of work and play, she needs a guy to stand in as her love interest at a company picnic. Gorgeous charmer David "King of Pleasure" Farber fits the bill perfectly—so well that Tawny is shocked to realize she's having a hard time letting him go…

David's a confirmed bachelor, but he can't get enough of Tawny's firecracker combination of tough and tender. Unfortunately, he's overloaded with work at his construction firm and now definitely isn't the time for distraction—he struggles enough with that already. Still, he can't ignore his feelings for Tawny. He'll just have to convince her that he's more than a boyfriend-for-hire. And she'll have to prove he can trust her with his biggest secret…

About the Author

Gail Chianese's love of reading began at the tender age of three, when she'd make her grandpa read Fourteen Country Rabbits over and over and over again (and correct him when he skipped parts). While she's branched out over the years by reading mystery, women’s fiction, and urban fantasy, she always circles back to romance in the end. That's probably because she's married to her real life hero. Her wonderful hubby served in the US Navy for twenty-seven years and he’s done things he can’t tell her about. But it doesn’t stop her from being extremely proud of him and the sacrifices he made for her, his family, and his country. He’s also uber-supportive of her dreams and of their three children. Living in Mystic, CT and a member of Connecticut Romance Writers of America, Gail loves to hear from readers. I was really happy with this book. Gail Chianese is a new-to-me author. I enjoyed this series even if the "mystery" was a little predictable. Liked the friendships and how the characters related to each other

Boyfriend for Hire is a fun read. I had no idea that this was the second in a series but it can be read standalone. This is a case of chemical attraction between the best friends of the first book. They choose not to act on it because they figure they will have to deal with their best friends when it goes south. And it will go south because David’s a confirmed bachelor and Tawny is working to get ahead. She comes from a traditional family that want her to find a man and settle down having babies. Not in her plans right now. I really like Tawny she is strong, smart and kind. David isn’t as big a jerk as he first appears. When Tawny is forced to quit her job she needs a “boyfriend” to nail down her new job. David is there and is hired (not really) to be her boyfriend. When one date turns into several and they discover the attraction isn’t just chemical things get fun. Everyone loves David and you will too.

Boyfriend for Hire is the story of Tawny and David. Tawny is a woman working at bank, who is fired from her job when her slimy boss promotes someone else. She is forced to find a job outside her field when her former boss gives her poor recommendations. She applies at an event planner business and rapidly learns that the emphasis for all employees is family and living a balanced life. She panics during the interview when asked about her life outside of work, and lies about having a boyfriend. She tells her prospective boss, that her guy is her brother's best friend David. She and David are frenemies that clash about a lot, but he is happy to help get the new job, but attending a company function. As their fake relationship grows, feelings begin to develop between them. Will they get a happy ending or will they just be friends? This is a cute book that exemplifies the pretend relationship plot. Both of the main characters were stubborn and opinionated which lead to fun situations where they had to explain their relationship. It was a fun, light read that made me smile. I was given a free copy for an honest review by netgalley.com

I really enjoyed this relationship of convenience story. It's a cute story with great characters. Tawny and David work well together and the banter and sass between them is very entertaining. Neither of them are looking for a relationship but what starts out as pretend starts to feel very, very real. This author's writing style is fantastic and keeps the story moving at a great pace. This is definitely one I recommend for everyone.

The trials and tribulations of being a single working girl in the career dominated man's world. Boyfriend for Hire is full of charm, sass and flair. Tawny is driven and intent on finding something that is all her own. I enjoy these relationship of convenience stories because the scenarios are so extremely funny that I have to always reread them. I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review. Stylish read that left me warm and fuzzy.
