15-20% of the population is highly sensitive, also called sensory processing sensitivity. The Highly Sensitive Person (HSPs) often experience high levels of stress and anxiety and usually feel quite overwhelmed and depleted.

There are real differences in the HSP Brain and Julie Bjelland, a Psychotherapist that specializes in HSPs has developed innovative tools specifically for HSPs in this 8-Week training program:

-Feel true self-acceptance, improve your self-esteem and learn to access your HSP gifts and super strengths.
-Build skills to reduce overstimulation and overwhelming feelings.
-Learn how to get out of your intense emotional reactions and how to respond, instead of react, to emotions.
-Improve your health, strengthen your immune system and increase your energy levels.
-Discover new neuroscience and research about the real differences in your HSP brain.

*Please note at 88 pages this is a thin book. It is an 8-week program that you work through one week at a time. It is created to be less overwhelming and more efficient. Much of the work of this brain training program is internal as we are raising our levels of awareness and growing particular new neural routes to reduce our overwhelming emotional and sensory reactivity and increase energy so you can feel your best and thrive.

Having just finished Julie's book, I have begun to introduce the concepts in this book to my clients who identify with the HSP trait. Learning more about the Highly Sensitive Person has informed me as a therapist, a parent, and someone who shares these characteristics. Julie does a great job of breaking the steps down in a way that makes it easy to incorporate these practices into daily life. I can easily follow my clients along with this plan while utilizing it myself as part of my own self-care. Julie has dedicated herself to sharing the gifts of being an HSP and highlighting the importance of caring for ourselves in order to be available to care for others. This is a wonderful read and a valuable reminder of how important balance, self-care, and self-compassion are in the life of a Highly Sensitive Person in a fast-paced world. I look forward to seeing my clients blossom and fulfill their potential with Julie's program. Janice Maurer Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

This book is just what the highly sensitive person needs to reach a new understanding of themselves and how they function in our world. Julie has studied and researched how the brain can be retrained so HSP's can learn skills to cope with things that have been overwhelming in their lives. It provides a big step in helping live a less stressful and happy life. Learning these techniques will truly amaze those HSP's that struggle with every day anxiety and feelings that are overwhelming. I have followed Julie's work and know she has helped many people live better lives.
