Highly recommended - It is such a pleasure to pick up a book and find the words and situations are clean. Too many writers go the other way but this is one of the clean books. Two young women who are so very different from each other suddenly find themselves owners of Branbleberry House when a lawyer reads the will of the previous owner naming them the new owners. There is something special about that house. Yes, it is old. Yes, it is a huge drain on their savings because it needs so many repairs. But, even more is going on in and at the house. The handsome next door neighbor who is in deep depression because his wife and young daughter were killed in an auto accident happens to be a carpenter willing to do repairs for them. All three become friends and protective of each other. Everyone who is affiliated with Branbleberry House finds peace and contentment. One thinks the spirit of the wonderful lady who used to own it is still in and around the house as unexplained feelings begin to be surprise the three. Everything is going along fine until Julia arrives with her two children. Julia used to visit with the original owner every summer for a couple of weeks while her parents vacationed on the beach just a couple of doors down. Julie loved the former owner because it was the only time she felt loved and at peace. As a teenager she and the handsome guy were best friends. But when they see each other again for the first time in years, he is cold and unwelcoming. When she left after her last visit so many years ago she promised to write him; but, he never received a letter. He doesn't know why she didn't write to him like she promised but he does know he doesn't want anything to do with her much less her children one of whom reminds him so much of his daughter who died. Interesting twists to the story but all of them finally find some peace. Could love also find them? Not telling - I have a feeling you too will find this book hard to put down.
