5 amazingly beautiful stars!! Another great book in this series that I fell in love with!! Great character development and the story flowed so well! ~ Melissa, Netgalley Reviewer

Being a blogger sometimes gets overwhelming, but then I remember that I'm lucky enough to find new authors that go on my LOVE list. MJ Summers is now on that list. WOW! I LOVED this book and series…Evan was so drool worthy, strong, and also vulnerable. He and Harper made an off the charts HOT, powerhouse couple. MJ Summers writing style was fantastic, and I got to really know her characters like they were friends of mine. I'm seriously attached to Harper and Evan now, and honestly, I WANT, no NEED more of them, and still emotionally charged after finishing the book. Great book and I highly recommend it to all.  ~ Jennifer, The Power of Three Readers Book Blog

It is always such a delight when you find a read that takes you away. This is not only going on my favorites shelf but my favorites of the year. This is a tender romance with a lot of heart. Bravo Ms. Summers! ~ Elizabeth, Crazies R Us Book Blog

Breaking Clear

Working for Style Magazine in Manhattan, Harper Young’s life is glamorous and fast-paced, just the way she likes it. This small town girl has left her roots – and her painful past – a million miles away, but a life-changing phone call means that now it’s time to face her childhood and the man she left behind . . .

When Evan Donovan isn’t on a construction site, he is usually hanging from a cliff somewhere. He’s been dealt a rough hand when it comes to love and now believes in keeping things simple. But when Harper Young drops back into his life, things suddenly get complicated. He resolves to stay away but the pull he feels to her is just too strong. Harper and Evan quickly find themselves in each other’s arms, telling themselves it’s only for now and that soon they’ll go back to their very different lives.

But true love doesn’t exactly play by the rules – before long they’re falling hard and fast. Will they be brave enough to put it all on the line and fight for their forever?

About the Author

MJ Summers made a name for herself with her debut novel, Break in Two. The highly acclaimed novel has received over 2300 reviews on Amazon.com maintaining a 4.4 Star rating. Released on Nov. 6, 2013, the novel quickly climbed to the number 2 position in the Top 100 Paid Kindle Store in Canada. It sat at number 1 in Western Romance on Amazon in Canada, the UK, and the USA for several weeks.

She is now working with super-agent, Suzanne Brandreth, of the Cooke Agency, who has sold the English language rights for MJ's four-book Full Hearts Series to Piatkus Entice (a division of Hachette UK) for all territories outside North America, and to HarperCollins Canada. Her first two novels have been translated in Czech and Slovak by EuroMedia.

Her novella, Don't Let Go, released in July 2014, hit the Top 100 in Western Romance as well as the Top 100 in Kindle Short Reads within the first twelve hours of sales.

Her highly anticipated follow-up novel, Breaking Love, was released in the fall of 2015. It reached #56 in Erotic Romance on Amazon.com. The book has a 4.6 star rating on Amazon and a 4.3 star rating on GoodReads.com.

Her third in the series, Breaking Clear, came out July 30, 2015, making its way to #35 on Amazon.com under the Erotic Romance Category within two days. The book has a 4.6 star rating on Amazon.com and a 4.3 star rating on GoodReads.com. Breaking Clear was recently featured in the Toronto Star under “Hammock Reads”. All three of her novels have been chosen as staff picks at Chapters/Indigo, Canada's largest Book Retailer.

MJ Summers currently resides in Edmonton, Canada, with her husband, three young children and their goofy dog. When she’s not writing romance novels, she loves reading (obviously), snuggling up on the couch with her family for movie night (which would not be complete without lots of popcorn and milkshakes), hiking, and yoga (to make up for the milkshakes), and camping (with lots of gooey s’mores and hard ciders). She also loves shutting down restaurants once a month with her girlfriends. Well, not literally shutting them down, like calling the health inspector or something. More like just staying until they shut the lights off.

MJ is a proud member of the Romance Writers of America.

Harper is an magazine editor she returns to Boulder and sees an old high school friend Evan who she had a crush on all through high school, Harper had returned as her father had been seriously injured. Evan is also Harper.s brother’s best friend. Harper went home from the hospital and realized there was no water climbs the fence and gets stuck, Evan catches her and then turns on the water. Evan and Harper come together and Harper wonders if she would be really happy with her constant world travel. But Evan has made it clear no love or marriage. Evan had been married and when his company failed his wife left him. So Evan is very leery of love. But seeing Harper and being with her makes Evan wonder if maybe he should take a chance again. Harper goes back to NY but quits her job as she needs more time off so then again she returns home and takes a job with the magazine she worked for before. Harper hopes Evan has changed his mind but instead he compares Harper to his mom who had run off and created a scandal for her family to deal with. I really liked this story. It’s an easy read and well written Only problem I had was when Evan went off on Harper and said such mean and untrue things to her. I don't know if it was me if I could ever forget that but that is just me. Other than that the story is great. The characters were great other than when Evan acted like a butt. I recommend. I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

Lord! For a couple of the age they are they have serious angst that never stops. When they finally get around to talking the story is abruptly over. She never even opened the ring box... what woman doesn't look at her ring?

Favorite Quotes: “She hadn’t realized her career had been circling the bowl, but she knew now that Cybill’s bony finger had been firmly positioned on the handle and she was about to flush.” “It did feel good at the time, but now I’m think I probably shouldn’t have asked if she’d had Botox injected into her heart to stop her from having feelings or if she’d just had her face frozen into place so no one would know she was having an emotion. That may not have been the smartest choice.” “You’re a man. Men are not that complicated. You’re either hungry or horny… Even James Bond is either looking for food or sex. The espionage just gets in the way most of the time.” “This matters. Whatever this is. You matter. And I’m going to be with you.” “We should have shipped her off to a convent when she was fourteen. Married her off to Jesus. That would have been a lot better for my blood pressure.” My Review: I have enjoyed every MJ Summers book I have ever read. Her stories are easy to follow, funny, and steamy. I particularly love her characters and the smart and snappy exchanges between them. Evan is the perfect boyfriend, he is thoughtful, sexy, handsome, sweet, gentle, kind, an excellent lover, and he actually listens when she talks – men like that are as common as unicorns. Harper is sassy, feisty, smart, driven, ambitious, and extremely stubborn. Both are deeply damaged and hell bent on avoiding a meaningful relationship, and they hurt each other without meaning to as well as when they are meaning to. The writing squeezed my heart as well as had me gasping and smirking. I hope I am paying attention when book 4 comes out.

Harper is heading home from her busy New York life to take care of her father after an accident. Now she must face the man she left behind as well. Evan isn’t lucky when it comes to love, when Harper comes back into his life he tries to keep it strictly friends only. Can he deny his feelings or will he get his heart broken again? I really enjoyed Harper and Evan’s story of an old love rekindled. This is a fast paced emotional and sexy story with wonderful characters.

Up and coming magazine director, Harper Young, is sent back to her extremely rural home town to care for her now seriously injured father. When Harper returns to her family home, she discovers her high school crush has bought out his family's home right next door. Old flame reignite but will these two very different people find a way to make their very different lives come back together for the long haul. This is a cute but very hot romance. It is slow building with past relationship scars causing a good amount of reluctance and obstacles. Breaking Clear was a very enjoyable romance with the hometown feel. I received this ARC copy of Breaking Clear from Book Enthusiast Promotions - Gretz Corp in exchange for a honest review.
