After fifteen years of marriage, Trish Marks has hit her breaking point. Her social work caseload has doubled, her son is acting out, and her SEAL husband is never home. Something has to give. When she’s shot and nearly killed by an irate husband during a home check, it does.

Navy SEAL Senior Chief Petty Officer Langley Marks is five years away from retirement and his pension. He knows there’s trouble in his marriage when he returns home from a deployment to a wife who’s distant, overworked, stressed, and unhappy. He’s only seen her like this once before, when she nearly died after giving birth to their last child. When she’s shot, he re-lives that terrible experience, and feels just as helpless.

But he’s not about to fly away and leave her to fight her way back alone this time. He’s willing to sacrifice it all to prove to her she’s the most important thing in his life. He just has to find a way to make her believe it.

Really gave some insight into families of the military. Very realistic portrayal of one woman's struggle to keep her family together while her husband is deployed overseas. It's no wonder there are so many divorces but for those who manage to persevere build a lasting relationship. Good story.

When I open a Team Heartbreaker book, I climb in and curl up to spend time with some of my favorite people. Teresa Reasor is an amazing writer who creates a highly tense and always believable world for her SEALS and their loved ones. Trish and Langley Marks have been a major part of that world from the beginning of the series. They are the heart of the group and have been married for 15 years. They set a level for other SEAL families to strive to achieve, but live isn't easy for any family of person who spends half of the time in great danger and who isn't around to support his wife during those times. In Breaking Point, Trish is exhausted from working 60 hour weeks as a social worker who cares too much and playing the role of full time mom and dad. Her son has hit that point where he is no longer the sweet boy he had always been and she has no idea how to handle his attitude or anger. And she is angry! Angry that the man she loves isn't with her when things are bad and angry that she understands that he loves his job so she can't ask him to quit. The trouble all comes to a head when she is in deadly danger on the job, but for once Langley is there when she needs him the most. The question is whether or not she can survive the danger and if she does whether or not his being there this time is enough.
