When it comes to understanding and battling sex addiction, George Collins has a lot of credibility. A former sex addict, George has put the practices that worked him deal with his own compulsive sexual behavior down on paper. A dedicated and devoted therapist, George has a brass-tacks style of tackling one of the most stigmatized of addictions. In a way that instantly will connect with readers that are struggling themselves or those that want to understand addiction, George preaches a method of disassociation with compulsive thoughts, incorporating Eckhart Tolle's philosophies in The Power of Now, as well as "dialoguing" with yourself. By opening up the dialogue to be honest with your own thoughts, desires and behaviors, anyone personally fighting their addiction to sex will begin taking major steps forward in their recovery by identifying with the person that they are deep inside and the person that they want to become. You can change your mind. You can change your life. George's book "Breaking the Cycle" will help. Highly recommended.

I can personally tell you that this book is the real deal and not just some theoretical self help book. I used to spend more then 8 hours a day on the inter net and I was calling phone sex services running up thousands of dollars in bills. I am an executive of a mid size company and I have 2 teenage childern. The methods and techiniques that George Collins use were not only effective in changing the behaviors but they also changed my life in the most positive ways possible. My marriage has improved and I am proud to say that I no longer act out in any abnormal behavior at all. What once seemed impossible is now my reality. I was able to do this by following the methods in this book which allowed me to become aware of what was driving me to do these things. I had been living in a compulsive and reactive world my entire life. When I encountered any form of stress or adversity I would turn to my compulsion rather then deal with life. Today I deal with the stress and realities of life and I am free from the priosn of my addiction. Thank you George Collins. You saved my life.

There is hope! That is the message Breaking the Cycle sends and George Collins delivers. The truth is, this book and the tools it offers provide you with an opportunity to break free from ANY addiction holding you in its grip. Whatever your poison- be it sex, drugs, alcohol, or a relationship, they all do the same thing- provide you an escape, albeit temporary, from the "story" that ails you. George offers us an opportunity to understand and recognize what our own story is. He then walks us through the process of turning the page and beginning a new chapter..... This time our "true self" is the author, not our parents, siblings, bosses, or ex-lovers. This isn't for the weak. The work is hard. It takes time. And it is worth it. If you've lost hope- this book is for you. If you know too well the "hung over" feeling that settles in your gut after swimming in your addiction, you are only steps away from the journey towards freedom. I speak from experience. I am a middle aged woman who came onto Mr. Collin's teaching by what can only be called serendipity. My life will forever be changed for the better. Yours can be too.
