The first thing about this book that intrigued me was when I read about them playing football. The story is focused on two characters Gale Sayers and Brian Piccolo. Each of them play for the Chicago Bears and both of them are competing for the same job. Throughout the book they learn to like each other, and they become the best of friends even though one is white and the other is black. They train together, eat together, and play together. Then something drastic happens . Brian comes down with a case of cancer. Gale's head is spinning in circles and thier teammates don't know what is wrong. This is a story of trials, tribulations, and a friendship that would survive through death. Brian's Song is definetely a book I recommend. I recommend this book for people who like love stories and people who are into sports. Even though this isnt a love story it will put reading spell on you like you won't believe. I recommend this book for people who like sports because you will fully understand what thier freindship meant.

dont get me wrong this is a book i very much enjoyed reading, i think the author left a lot of loose ends. at the start of the book i thought he was going to show a little racism about gale and brian rooming together but it didnt get into that much, i also think the author jumped around a little to much and skipped ahead at alot of areas in the book. i did not like the way it was set up as a screenplay i would love to read this again as a novel. i would recommend this book to anyone, sports fan or not. it also helps get a better look at sayers, not just the amazing runningback that was fun to watch

Becasue it has all the camera views in it and the exterior and interior views it is very cool. I would say reading this book is very interesting and a GREAT decision! You will learn about 2 different prople trying for the same job. As they fight and as they help eachother. READ THIS BOOK it is amazing!

This book is definitely for your imagination! Since it is a movie script, it tells how the camera is positioned, the actors feelings, it really sets the scene. I love how it's so specific that it's easy to picture, yet you and I will see something totally different. This is a wonderful story of friendship and compassion. It tells that it may not come easy, but the mountain was worth it. A must read for anyone who has a friend or has befriended another!

I did not like this book. The whole idea of writing as a screenplay was horrible because it wasted a lot of my time reading about all the camera angles, and telling me what the character feels is so unimaginative. I felt like i was reading a movie, which is lame. Also it was a boring movie at that with the author jumping around and not having a steady flow with all the breaks for new camera angles and the story really only has two plot points the whole book which is only a little over 100 pages and very under developed as with most of the characters
