As a child I read and learned to love the works of Tolkien and Lewis. Williams is right up there with these renowned authors. I found this book entertaining from cover to cover while touching my heart in a very deep way. This prequal to the 7 Kingdom Chronicles follows the journey of a man who had it all but whose own character flaws lead to his downfall. This book is full of life, truth, beauty, tragedy, love, and triumph. It mixes the fantasy of the midevil era with truths that are applicable for today.

I accidentally came upon Thomas William's fantasy novels a few years back, and I'm so glad I did. They are beautiful stories about knights, princesses, and witches. They easily match the standard set by the fantasy work of Tolkien and Lewis. And the pages are packed with sound teachings about art, truth, beauty, good and evil, and the Master of the Universe. Read it.
