Addicted to anything that might make a good story, she weaves tales that range from dark fantasy to humorous romance. I will go ahead and tell you how much I don't like this Roxy person. If she manipulates everyone in her life like that she is going to end up seriously hurting some "friends." Im glad this story seems to have a happy ending but honestly that all just spoiled the whole book for me. If this were real life I would give both relationships maybe 1-5 years.

Jamie and Dani were friends for five years and decided to take the next step and dated for nine month. Then last year on New Years Eve Dani tells Jamie she loves him. Two days later he moves to Florida. Later on down the road Dani is to be maid of honor at her best friend’s Roxy’s wedding. Then she finds out Jamie is to be the best man for Kyle- Roxy’s fiance. Roxy asks Dani to distract Jamie during the wedding. I like this story. I wasn’t to happy with Jamie and how he hurt Dani and doesn’t really matter why. Then he wonders if he did the right thing leaving Dani - make up your mind. But I did understand his fear of her feelings so I did finish this story and did end up liking it a lot. I like the characters especially Dani and all she and Jamie went through. I recommend. I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

I really enjoyed the story, and I'm hoping for the other bridesmaids to get their stories told in the future.

My Thoughts: Dani is blindsided by the presence of her ex, Jamie, when he shows up for her best friend Roxy's wedding. Roxy has this crazy notion that Jamie's anti-marriage commentary is going to get to her soon-to-be husband Kyle's head. So she asks Dani to keep him distracted, even though she knows how the relationship ended. Dani reluctantly does it "for the bride" but it's not easy at first. Eventually she and Jamie have time to talk through some things to where they feel like things have reached a good point between them. Which, in turn, brings about the sparks from before, causing them to dive into a temporary friends-with-benefits relationship. Only temporary just isn't going to be enough--not by a long shot. Bridesmaid Blues is an entertaining and super cute read. Exes with unresolved issues and underlying feelings getting put into a situation where they have to be around each other is always amusing. Dani and Jamie clearly have chemistry and you want nothing more than for the two of them to realize this instead of playing around (even though that's kinda fun, too). I found myself both swooning and giggling over everything, and completely amused at the situation in general. This second chance romance by Boone Brux is worth the read! My Rating: Very Good

3.5 Stars Who doesn’t love a second chance story? I like the idea of a couple reuniting during their friends’ wedding and realizing that they can’t live without each other. And I still do even after reading BRIDESMAID BLUES. Dani Brown has got a-maid-of-honor assignment, to distract the best man until after the wedding. The only problem with this is that the best man is her ex, who dumped her almost a year ago but Dani is willing to take one for the team. Even though she’s still in love with Jamie, Dani is determined to keep her interactions with him fun and lighthearted. Both Jamie and Dani still share a sizzling attraction and soon find themselves adding benefits to their renewed friendship but is it possible to have a friends-with-benefits relationship with the ex who broke your heart, without wanting more? I liked Dani because she was fearless about going for what she wanted and even if her boldness led to her making misguided choices, she made no apologies for them. Jamie is by far the most unlikable hero I have ever read about, with almost no redeeming qualities. He’s an overgrown man-child with daddy issues, who is still trying to earn his father’s love and approval to no avail, even as he himself runs away from commitment and I think that Dani was too good for him. His about-face from commitment-phobe to wanting forever with her was too abrupt for me. She should have kicked him to the curb, but that’s just my opinion. And oh! Don’t get me started on Roxy. Intense dislike is an understatement for how I feel about being manipulated ‘for my benefit’ so that button got pushed big-time! I can’t say that I loved BRIDESMAID BLUES, but it certainly evoked very strong feelings in me, if my rant-y review is anything to go by and I have to give kudos to Ms. Boone for taking a risk in writing these characters like this. In spite of my mixed feelings about this book, I’m actually interested in the stories of the other secondary characters. Disclaimer: I received this book for free from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Dani Brown and Jamie Kingsland were friends for years before they decided to give dating a chance and seemed to be enjoying a great relationship for almost a year before Jamie got spooked and moved across the country to get away from her. Dani can barely tolerate a conversation in regards to Jamie let alone spending time with him so when she finds out he too will be in her best friends wedding party, Dani has a difficult time coming to terms with it. Dani is truly the best friend anyone could have because she is literally able to put her differences aside and entertain the best man just so he doesn't corrupt the groom. Dani is still a bit heartbroken and has unresolved feelings for Jamie therefore this could be really painful to endure but she goes ahead with it anyways to make her friend's wedding day all that she dreamed of. Jamie is running scared and finally realizes that just because his parents relationship went bad it doesn't mean he is destined for all of the same things. Jamie is working for his father in Florida and he eventually will be the one to run the business but until then he is treated like any other employee. Once Jamie is back in Seattle he realizes Dani still means so very much to him. Now he has to fix one of the biggest mistakes he has ever made.

This is a fun, fast paced, quick read with a fresh approach to second chances. It is well written with quirky moments that make the story more enjoyable. The characters are likable and easy to connect with. Their emotions and reactions are realistic. The secondary characters add color and depth. I loved Dani's friend Roxy! This would make a great beach read. ARC received from Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

Originally posted on my blog: Tangled Up In Books I received a copy of this book, from the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. In no way did this sway either my review or my rating. With meddling friends, a second chance at love and lots of angst, humor and swoons...Bridesmaid Blues has become an instant favorite. It was a quick and easy, unputdownable read that had me completely charmed from start to finish! When the opportunity presented itself to review this book I snatched it up without hesitation or even reading the blurb. I've previously only read one other book by Boone Brux but really it only took that one book to appreciate her writing. The first one being paranormal/mythology had me curious if I would feel that same excitement with one of her contemporaries. No worries there. I was just as captivated with this one, if not maybe even more so. Though I'd probably end up saying this about everything that I list that made me fall in love with this book, but the thing that I loved most is the characters. It's not just Dani and Jamie that I ended up completely in love with, it was everyone. This group of friends and their dynamic had me grinning ear to ear as I devoured every word on the pages. I can't wait to read each of their stories, and to see some more of the bride, Roxie's, meddling. As for the two main characters of the book though, I adored Dani especially her appearance in the opening chapter. The way she just sort of...falls...onto the pages had me in stitches. And holy swoons batman, Jamie! I loved how obvious it was that even though he is this no commitments and definitely no love or marriage kind of guy, you could really tell that deep down his feelings for Dani were stronger than he even realized himself. They were both so sweet and funny. Their banter was great. I just really loved their relationship. I am such a sucker for second chances at love. They're the stories that make my heart thud the wildest, when they're done right. Boone Brux has definitely done it right in the case of this book. Her characters are so fun and full of life that you want to be friends with them yourself. There was just the right amount of push and pull to give you hope and yet at times have you wondering if things would come together in the end. I love that! I'm already dying for the next book in this series and this one has just released! Sigh. If you haven't read a book by Boone Brux yet I highly recommend starting with this one! It'll leave you hooked and wanting more. Besides, misery loves company and I want you all miserable and waiting for book 2 with me! :) Thanks to Entangled Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book!!

4 stars Bridesmaid Blues was such a great read, loved it. I'm a big fan of second chance romance and this book didn't disappoint. From the first page I knew this was going to be a fun read, I loved the characters, the storyline and the chemistry/attraction between Dani and Jamie was off the charts. This was a quick Saturday read for me. This is for me, a light enough read that I can spend Saturday time enjoying it, with just enough angst to make it worth it. The best part for me was when they first meet again. Dani is the kind of friend we all wish we had. She got dumped in the worst way, after confessing her love to Jamie when he practically RAN out of town. She's tried to pick herself up, move on and focus on work and friends. She didn't let her own heartbreak ruin her best friends time leading up to her wedding. She's even agreed to be the maid of honor, and distract the best man... Jamie is returning to Seattle to stand in as best man in his best friends wedding. He's got mixed feelings on being there. He's missed Dani and the times they had together, but he doesn't necessarily think he did the wrong thing. He's not sure if he believes in happy ever after. They agree to call a truce for their friends.. They admit they still have a mutual attraction, but don't think they could be anything more than friends with benefits. That's where it gets really interesting!

What a delightful romance Bridesmaid Blues is. Some guys panic at the mere mention of the L word. Yeah, Jamie panicked himself right out of town when Dani first mentioned that she loved him. Now he’s back in town to be the best man at his friend’s wedding – and so is Dani, as the maid of honor. Dani and Jamie have such chemistry, and they can get very very steamy together. So when Dani proposed a friends with benefits arrangement, what male with blood running through his veins is going to turn that down. Jamie cares about Dani, but with his family’s history he doesn’t believe in the happy ever after nor in the union called marriage. But spending time with Dani, beginning to trust those feelings – Jamie is starting to change his mind. I really enjoyed Dani and Jamie’s romance. There are two people who should be together, and will eventually get there – but there is a journey ahead of them to get to their own happy ending. I loved the girls banter and relationship between Dani and her friend/the bride Roxy. Everything about this novel is just so believable and it could happen in real life realistic. That matters to me, if I’m going to believe in the happy ever after then I have to believe in the romance as well. This is a story that I would definitely recommend for anyone who enjoys their romance light hearted, fast paced and steamy. If you are looking for a fun, enjoyable romance for the beach or back porch this summer, then Bridesmaid Blues is perfect for you. Pick it up and indulge. *I received an e-ARC of Bridesmaid Blues from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*

3.5 stars Enjoyable romance between two ex's that still have feelings for each other. Dani has been asked to be the maid of honor in her best friends wedding, but the bride didn't tell her that the her ex, Jamie would be the best man. Jamie left town a year ago, after Dani began to have real feelings for him. He realizes he has made a mistake, but is unsure about his future with his family and his place in Dani's life. They fight their feelings and learn that the bride tricked them into spending a lot of time together as a means of reuniting them. Will they be able to work things out? This was a cute reunion romance that couple a strong female lead with a likable but complicated man. I connected with Dani's character, and liked how she killed Jamie with kindness. I understood Jamie's family situation, but didn't like how he handled their break up. This was a quick read that was enjoyable and fun. I was given a free copy for an honest review.

Bridesmaid Blues is a book I went into sort of blind. Sure, I read the synopsis, and I took a gander at the cover, (Which I love, by the way.) but I didn’t sit down to read it in a normal way. How I came to read this was different because it came out of boredom. Yes, I said it, I was bored. So I grabbed my Kindle, just opened up a random book and started reading. It happened to be Bridesmaid Blues. Not even a few pages into this book, I knew I was going to love it. The first chapter alone had me cracking up over a situation that is described so well that you feel like you’re standing there witnessing it. Dani is the maid of honor, she’s recovering, or well, attempting to recover from a broken heart. The guy she loved, up and ran off days after she tells him she loves him. So the last year of her life has been a juggling job of her trying to move on, piece her heart back together and trying to act normal. She’s extremely loyal to her friends and goes out of her way to help her best friend plan the best wedding ever. Even if that includes possibly stomping all over her heart again by helping distract the best man. Jamie Kingsland is the man that ran off a year before and broke Dani’s heart. He’s a motorcycle riding mass of confusion who doesn’t know if he made the right choice a year ago. Sure, he cares about Dani, but is it love? Jamie misses Seattle and he misses Dani. He goes back to Seattle for his best friends wedding and runs into Dani again. Then he drops the bombshell on her that he’s the best man. Oops, someone forgot to tell Dani that. These two obviously have chemistry and for all that Jamie ran off, he and Dani still spark it off. He can’t seem to keep his thoughts or hands off her and it’s not long before they go up in flames. With Dani trying to distract Jamie from the wedding, well meaning friends trying to throw them together and all the outsides issues that take place on Jamie’s end trying to keep them apart, (Because you really didn’t think it was so simple as Jamie just running off, did you? ;) Give him more credit than that.) it’s one crazy week leading up to that wedding. So, I absolutely loved this book. The supporting characters are downright hilarious. The situations that they were put into, from the get go, I was laughing at this book. It’s steamy, I’ll give you that and the main characters have awesome rapport with each other. They may not be together, but for the most part they still get each other. I’m excited to read the rest of the books in this series! I’m already wanting to know what happens with Dani’s friends because the hints that this book dropped were perfect for that! Last but not least, the only reason I gave this book a four instead of a five star rating was simply due to the ending of the book. It felt a little bit rushed to me. It didn’t detract from the main book overall, but I just wanted to see more! I would definitely recommend this one to anyone who loves a second chance romance, or wants a good chuckle and a great read. Either way, I know I enjoyed it. For more reviews check out:

This was a very cute, sweet, hot read. I loved the connection between Dani and Jamie. I loved how they were friends first before dating and they returned to that friendship easily. The story flowed very easily that I felt more like I was watching it instead of just reading it. The girls, as well as the guys in this story, had such a strong group friendship. They were hilarious in their constant ribbing of one another. I hope we see more of this crazy group of personalities. I enjoyed the strength of Dani's character, in that she didn't let others walk all over her, she killed them with kindness. Jamie surprised me in the end with his character development, but it seemed to be a long time coming. This story was heartfelt and just really good. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher.

***This ARC was received from Entangled Publishing via Netgalley in exchange for a honest review*** I like the way the story is written and I like that even though Roxy has a reason that she gives Dani for keeping Jamie busy she has a secret plan to get them back together. It is kind of an over played storyline but this one has a bit of a different twist to it.

In this delightful reunited lovers romance, Dani and Jamie were getting along famously until she said the "L" word - then Jamie broke Dani's heart, taking off for Florida with the fear of commitment spurring him on. Several months later they are both in the bridal party of their mutual friends' wedding (a surprise to Dani, who hadn't figured on her ex making time to come for the event) and spending more time together than either had counted on. Dani is convinced that she's over Jamie but when things start to heat up between them, she proposes a friends with benefits arrangement that Jamie agrees to wholeheartedly. But with their best friends getting married, and seeing the evidence of what a committed relationship can bring to the table, Jamie finds himself wondering whether he's made a big mistake and whether he can fix it before time runs out. I really enjoyed this story! The characters of Dani and Jamie were very believable and they definitely shared a lot of chemistry. This leads to some steamy love scenes between them as they reconnect on both a physical and emotional level. Dani is right to guard her newly mended heart from Jamie, though as they spend time together he regrets his hasty decision to break things off with her. Dani comes across as a friendly, kind hearted and fun woman. She's a dedicated bridesmaid and will do anything her friend Roxy needs to ensure that her wedding will go off without a hitch. I liked the interaction of the girls together as they prepare for the wedding. Jamie is a handsome and charismatic guy, who just so happens to have acrimoniously divorced parents that have skewed his views on relationships. Over the course of the story though, he comes to realize that not everyone will end up like his parents and that Dani is perfect for him in every way. I loved them together and it was a really fun and entertaining (and sexy!) read. 4 stars.

This was a cute book about love lost and found again. I loved the whole secret bride requests...and hope that we get to find out about the others in future books to come. I really loved the characters in the story, not just the main ones but the supporting ones as well. This was definitely a well rounded story, if a little short.

Bridesmaid Blues is immensely entertaining. I laughed so hard that I cried. It was so obvious to me that Dani and Jamie still had unresolved feelings for each other. The setting of these two encountering each other at a wedding brought emotions to a a head. Had so much fun with this story. I may just read it again. Received an ARC for an honest review.

Fun light read that was completely entertaining! When maid of honor Dani Brown finds out her no good, run for the hills ex, Jamie Kingsland, is the best man at the upcoming wedding, she wants to throttle both the bride and her ex. But the bride is her best friend so she has no choice but to suck it up and play nice. Then when the bride asks her to keep Jamie occupied so he can't spew his anti marriage venom at the groom, things really get interesting!! This was a great read and one I highly recommend.
