The second installment in the Callahan and McLane series, Bridged was filled with fast-paced, heart pounding drama. You're reunited with Ava and Mason, this time to chase after a serial killer hell bent on outwitting then until he has finished his mission. As far as romantic suspense plots go, I thought the criminal in Bridged was interesting and intriguing. You experience his thoughts and emotions - leaving you feeling a strange level of empathy for him. The task force that has been formed to investigate his crimes but has no leads or clues as to who is behind it all. You anticipate the moment the killer makes a mistake and wonder who will survive his mess. I loved connecting with Ava and Mason again. They have moved forward with their relationship since the conclusion of Vanished. The balance between their careers and home life has created solace for the couple. The chemistry that is their friendship and passion for one another can be felt - clearly their bond has intensified. Their goodness and light balances out all the darkness in their worlds. Overall I really enjoyed, Bridged. Fans of this duo and Kendra Elliot will be pleased as well as highly entertained. Definitely check this book out.

Bridged by Kendra Elliot is another riveting thriller. When a popular congressman is brutally murdered, FBI Special Agent Ava McLane is hot on their trail. Ava is still recovering from being shot on her last case but she has love Detective Mason Callahan by her side to assist on and off the case.  As the bodies start to pile up the stress starts to play a factor in her relationship. Added to the stress level is Ava’s twin is spirally out of control.  Can Ava and Mason find the killer before he destroys everything they both hold dear? Bridged is a fast paced, pulse pounding thriller.  it’s a hard book to walk away from once you start.  Trying to figure out the killer and his motives will keep you guessing.  I am so glad I found this author and her awesome books.

NUMBER OF HEARTS: 5 REVIEW:  Bridged is book 2 in Ms. Elliot's 'Mason Callahan series'. After the events of Vanished (bk1)(which you need to read) I was not sure how Ms. Elliot was going to top this story, but she did. Bridged is truly an amazing story. In Bridged we find Mason & Ava loving life and looking forward to a little down time. But in the Rose City there is no rest for the wicked, which means no rest for the Oregon State Police and the FBI.  There is so much that I want to tell you. But I don’t want to give anything away. But I will tell you that this story just keeps building and building and building with each chapter. Building to the point that you can’t put the book down until you get to the end.  Amazing!!! It truly amazes me how twisted and complicated a suspense romance authors mind works. I can’t wait for the next journey in Mason & Ava’s life, although I do hope that they will get a nice quiet weekend soon. :)  Disclaimer:  I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley & Montlake Romance in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.

This was such a fantastic book! Reading a book by Kendra Elliot always surprises me. Her stories are thrilling, captivating, mysterious, I can never guess what's happening in the criminal's mind and the descriptions of the procedures from the authorities are all there, It seems there's never a detail without an anwser or explanation. This second installment in the Mason Callahan's series happens 2 months since the developments of VANISHED and shows how the romantic relationship of the main characters - Mason and Ava, has evolved. I'll admit that, despite the thrilling part of the book, this was the aspect that most fascinated me. Now, sharing deep feeling and living together, Mason and Ava have a strong relationship, where they fit perfect! The case about the Bridge Killer was spectacular! Bit by bit, the reader his shown the reasons why a man is killing other men and hanging them from bridges, presenting a terrible crime from the past. As if it wasn't enough working this case, Ava has yet to deal with her twin sister, Jayne, that has gone back to drugs and living with a criminal. The trouble and heartache Jayne gives her sister, makes Ava a more realistic character. I can't wait to read more books in the series!

I received an ARC of this book from the Publisher, via Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review. Bridged is the equal to Vanished, in the Bone Secrets world. I've not read the Bone Secrets series, but I did read Vanished, and I wrote the following: "Solid suspense with interesting, rational adults for a heroine and hero." Bridged was really kind of slow to start out, and events do seem kind of random at the beginning. There's a couple of sub plots, one of which includes Ava's crazy twin sister. I found the mystery part really entertaining, because this serial killer was a bit strange and deviated from the norm. And, Ava and Mason's romance was a warm comforting burn rather than a conflagration, which balanced the plot as nicely as the two balance each other. By the end of it, sub plots were resolved and made sense, the killer's motivations were illuminated rendering the killer human and somewhat pitiable, and there was enough action and suspense to do the job for what was slower in the rest of the book. In the end I am giving this 3.5 stars, and making a mental note that Kendra Elliot's monsters aren't so very monstrous - they are human and understandable, which for me at least makes them just a bit more horrifying.
