Hot! Must read!

There’s not much to the story. It’s good for a quick read but if you’re looking for a more drama filled or more meat to the story, this isn’t it. But for a quick story, it’s a great read.

While I've wanted to read a book by this author for quite a while, even downloaded several of her titles when they were on sale, this is actually the first one I've read, or listened to actually. I definitely enjoyed it. Now, I gave it 4 stars, but it might be a little closer to 3.5 because of a few issues I had with it. But as I've mentioned in the past, I always like to round up if I've enjoyed the book. This audiobook not only had different narrators for the two different characters, it was also done with what I think is called dual narrating? That is where the female narrator does all the female speaking parts, even when it is the male narrator's chapter. And vice versa for the male narrator with the speaking parts for the male characters. I've listened to books like this before, most notable the Harris Brothers series by Amy Daws, and it was great. However, there were some moments in this one that didn't quite match up like you'd hope. And in a way, I think these two narrators, were probably good at doing the opposite sex voices, as they were pretty good at sounding like different characters even staying with the same sex as they did. And even though at times the male voice droned a little, by the end, I definitely enjoyed his part. Some things I really liked is that we would often get more than one chapter at a time from one of the character's viewpoints, when it made sense to do it that way. I've seen that before, but so often it is just the female character that gets it, and I loved that we got it from Barrett as well as Ava in this one. Barrett is Ava's brother's best friend. And while Ava had a crush on him for a long time, he never really noticed I guess. But Barrett has been attracted to her since she was in high school, although he definitely enjoyed being around her and hanging out long before then. The romance was pretty sweet, and the sex scenes definitely steamy, if a little vague at times. But that's okay. They weren't a fade to black type, and that made me happy. And let's just say the beginning of the book was so funny! Walking in on Barrett in the shower, accidentally slipping and pulling his sweat pants down in the parking lot, cooking in the kitchen and the cucumber joke. Now, there were a few things that make it more of a 3.5, and I'll list those. First, the whole we can't be together, the whole "bro code" thing. Yeah, I get it, and I like it, and I know it was the point of the book. But it was like every other sentence for a while at the beginning of the story. And not just Barrett thinking that, even with Ava thinking it as well. Maybe if I'd been reading the physical book, where I could have skipped over that part while reading it wouldn't have bothered me as much. But, since I was listening to the audiobook, and I was stuck listening as it went along so I didn't miss anything else, I had to keep hearing it over and over. Also, while I didn't see the twist coming at the end, and I like that, I notice that the synopsis/blurb I got here for the tour kind of gives that away. It's not in the blurb on Goodreads. I think maybe it's better to keep it as a twist. But that's just my opinion. Also, another thing, and this isn't just this book, this is any brother's best friend romance. If you are best friends with someone, and they're like family, wouldn't you want that person to be part of your family and be with your sister? I mean, if you can tell they like them more than a hook-up.

This was a new book for me and in audio so a real treat. Ava has come home to take over her families factory after her fathers illness forced retirement. Despite her brother, Nick, thinking she should just sell the factory. Barrett is Nicks best friend and is staying with Nick's family for the retirement party. What he didn't anticipate was little Ava who was now all grown up. But he can't do anything because that would break the Bro Code, wouldn't it? I alway struggle with audiobooks because even American's don't have an American accent in my head plus I have never listened to a male and female voiced audiobook before. But I loved it, at first I found Barrett's voice (Jacob Morgan) a little laid back but they soon grew on me!

Ava&Barrett have had a thing for each other since forever. I loved the fact that he saw here for more than just a pretty face. I loved how they tried to stay from each other even when they deep down knew it was no use in denning how they feel for one another. The only problem I had with Barrett is that he should have come clean before when truth was revealed. But the ending redeem him so all is good in the world. :) Yet another quick, fun and sexy read by Kendall Ryan . She always manages to create story that sucks you into it and you have to read it in one sitting. And this story was no different. I'm a big fan and can not wait to read more. ***Review copy requested and reviewed on behalf of OMGReads Blog***

Kendall Ryan is one of my go to authors when I am in the mood for a light romantic story. She always manages to create delicious alpha BBF that I can swoon over and heroines that I can see myself being friends with. And Bro Code is not an exception. Barrett and Ava are two intriguing characters that captivated me from the very start. Their story is sweet and romantic, definitely hot and a little bit naughty :) Barrett and Ava are two intriguing characters. They are quite different but the connection between them is undeniable. And though there are obstacles in the way of them being together, they feelings developing between them cannot be denied. With every covert look at each other, every stolen kiss, their resistance is weakening and they realise that they are made for each other. In my opinion, it was just beautiful the way they finally came together. So be sure to check it out ;) As I already mentioned, this is a beautiful romantic story. It is a great read if you are in the mood for something sweet and relaxing with a hint of hot. So, if you are looking for a good vacation read, or simply a relaxing one, you are on the right place :)

My first book by this author, but definitely not my last. I’m giving this 4 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion. Dual POV is usually a hit or miss for me, but I really liked seeing both sides to this love story. The writing was great, and this could have been 5 stars…but a few things held me back. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I’ll just say that I wasn’t surprised by the “twist”, and I was pretty annoyed when it happened. And another thing that bothered me was the constant discussion about the size of him. It felt like it was brought up every other chapter. I did like Ava and Barrett overall. The conversations and teasing these two engaged in due to being close for so many years was entertaining to read. And I absolutely loved how Barrett was with Ava’s entire family! The romance was a little too instalove for me; even if they’ve known each other forever, it felt rushed. I wanted to see more of her family’s reaction at the end, because while most of the story focused on these two, we saw a lot of her family in the beginning. The epilogue was cute, if a little unrealistic. The book was a quick read, and I enjoyed it a lot. I can’t wait to read the backlist books from this author…and anything new she comes out with! I highly recommend this for people who love brother’s best friend romances, or even friends to lovers romances.

Such a good book! My first Kendall Ryan read and I loved it! Barrett is just sexy as sin, smart, successful, an all-around good guy. Best friends with a guy whose sister has been crushing on him for years, and yeah okay, maybe he's been crushing on her a bit too. They live completely different lives, but they are brought together for a family function, and since Barrett is practically family, he wouldn't miss it. Seeing Ava messes with his head and he has to talk himself down quite a few times to not touch her... you know because, Bro Code. Anyways, a funny little run-in with Ava starts a whole new level of want... for the both of them, and it's definitely fun to watch, and really hot. The whole "forbidden" thing is always enticing, but of course, you're always waiting for the shoe to drop. It all starts off sexy and fun, but real life finds a way to creep in and kick you in the face. For Ava and Barrett, the two are made for each other. Their chemistry is undeniable, but something big stands in their way... pun not intended. Ha! The question is, can Barrett fix everything between them and get them back on track?! He better with all that meat he's packing! There's too much hotness between them for things not to get fixed! Super cute book, packed with lots of hot scenes, and equally embarrassing, laugh out loud moments as well. I actually shed a few tears reading this too, what? I'm a softie!! Must've been the part about buying special condoms that got me all teary eyed and what not! Ha! Kidding! Ava's a sweet girl that had some sweet moments with her dad and others as well that had me all, awww!! Really enjoyed the author's writing, it's easy to read and relate to as well as so easy to devour. I've been dying to read her other books, and now that I've had a taste of one, I'll be reading more soon! All around one of those fun, light reads, and we all need those sometimes! #B2BKristina

A sweet, sexy and funny read!! Bro Code is a standalone 'in love with older brother's best friend' read - an easy, light, entertaining and fun read that hit all the right spots!! Barrett is a successful lawyer looking to make partner very soon, as such he works long hours and has no love life as such. He's due back at his best friend's house for his dad's retirement for the weekend, but is a little worried about bumping into his sister, Ava, who he has had a crush on for years, who turns out to be even more beautiful and attractive than he remembers!! Not good, she is forbidden fruit, so says the 'Bro Code'!! Ava has just moved back home and taken over the family business from her dad now he's retired, but was not expecting to see Barrett or find he was staying at the house. She has been in love with Barrett for as long as she can remember, but knows it is not returned. But oh my Lord, she's can't believe how handsome and utterly gorgeous Barrett now is, her attraction to him returning full force especially when she accidentally comes across him coming out of the shower, naked, wet and seeing way more than she ever bargained for!! As the attraction builds and lines get crossed, Barrett and Ava know that their connection is just too deep to ignore. A fab, easy and quick read, sweet and sexy, lots of humor along the way - highly recommended reading!

This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased, honest opinion. Whew!!!! I needed to have 4 fans going to read this book lol!!! It was HOT!! Such a steamy read. This was my first book by Kendall Ryan and I really enjoyed it!! I’ve been big into “forbidden romances” here lately and this was the perfect read for that! We have brother and sister Nick and Ava. Nick’s best friend Barrett was always hanging around, preferring their house to his own growing up. With a 5 year age gap, nothing happened between Barrett and Ava. They had a crush on each other but never acted on it. I love how they had the base of a friendship and a camaraderie before they started a romantic relationship. I think it’s always a good idea to have that base before starting something deeper. I absolutely loved Ava’s family. They were this down to earth, super tight knit family. Think family dinners every night with a home cooked meal and everyone gathered round the table. I could picture every scene and almost smell the meal as it was being prepared. This story had a real small town vibe to it, which I really enjoyed. Ava was taking over a factory that her father had owned and operated for several years. He was no longer able to do so because of health reasons. We see Ava trying to jump into this new ownership role and juggle all the things that come with that. While also trying to keep her feelings for Barrett under wraps. Ava and Barrett were so adorable. I loved their flirting and teasing ways. It was the cutest……and steamiest scenes. I will say, I enjoyed the second half of the story more so than the first half. I like to have a story along with my romances instead of just sexy times. The first half had quite a few of the steamier scenes with not a lot of story to go with it. The second half more than made up for it though. I really liked this story and can’t wait to pick up another book by this author.

Sultry, sassy, and sweet! Bro Code is an enchanting, passionate read that mixes the the hardworking, caring Ava who’s determined to not only keep the family business up and running but her hands off the man of her dreams, and the chivalrous, delectable Barrett who may finally take the risk and act on his feelings for his best friend’s sister. The writing is effortless and fluid. The supporting characters are fun-loving and engaging. And the plot sweeps you away into a push-pull storyline filled with tantalizing mishaps, witty banter, shameless flirting, red-hot chemistry, family, friendship, light drama, romance, and love. I’m not sure there’s a Kendall Ryan book out there that isn’t well written with the perfect mix of heart, humour, and heat and Bro Code is no exception. I loved the story, I loved the characters, I loved the swoon-worthy happy-ever-after ending, and I especially loved the cover!

Steamy, forbidden and oh so sexy! Kendall Ryan's latest is a super fun read! Ava and Barrett are both great characters with a lot of chemistry and watching them try to fight their feelings for each other is quite entertaining. Every guy knows the score ... the bro code ... never get with your friend's ex, and by no means EVER look at his sister! Attorney Barrett Wilson practically grew up at his best friend Nick's house and was treated more like family in that household than he ever was at his own home. That's why he's always turned his head and ignored his feelings ... but being back in town for a long weekend and in close proximity again makes resisting the pull being around her has on him next to impossible! Ava Saunders crushed on Barrett hard when she was a teenager, but he never gave any indication that she was anything other than his BFF's bratty little sister ... until now! There's no way she can ignore the heat in his eyes when they look at each other. Wow! She's more than game to give him a whirl, but is he willing to put his friendship and the only family he's ever truly had on the line?

I received an ARC from the author for review prurposes. Ava is the younger sister of Barrett's best friend and he has always had an attraction to hr. But he has squashed it for years because of the Bro Code. Meanwhile Ava has crushed majorly on B but never knew he was attracted to her. Until he is in town for her father's retirement party and she sees him naked and then ends up getting sick with him. But the Bro code is still a big hinderance for the two. B is also a high powered lawyer and Ava is about to start a new job taking over for her dad, so it is not the right time for these two to get together. But the heart and attraction don't care it wants what it wants. I really enjoyed this story. I think Ava forgave B a little too easily but despite that I really enjoyed this story. It is well written and I loved B and A together and they have some really fun and hot times together.

Kendall Ryan puts her own take on the forbidden trope of best friend’s little sister in her newest release, BRO CODE, and while Barrett Wilson is all about keeping to the code, but when an older, brilliant, feisty, and beautiful Ava Saunders re-enters his life, her off-limits status becomes a bit more problematic, especially when Ava’s boldness lays things out for Barrett in a way that cannot be misinterpreted…Ava wants Barrett, and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to act on the feelings she’s always had for him because the sexual tension that surrounds them is just too overwhelming to deny. One reason I love stories that bring a guy’s best friend and his sister together is because readers are there from the beginning, watching the guy and the girl do everything in their power to remain only friends because giving into the attraction would spell trouble for all three of their relationships, while still knowing that the line is going to be crossed and there’s really no way of stopping it from happening, which means that at the will they or won’t they question as it applies to Barrett and Ava dramatically plays out, readers get to hear the characters’ internal struggles and become aware of their true feelings for the person they are not supposed to want. Ava is a very likeable heroine whose sharp and witty tongue makes her one of my favorite Kendall Ryan female leads. Ava is all about learning new things and is passionate about an array of topics. I love that she wants to run her father’s company and she wants to do it in a way that will make him proud but also put her own spin on it. . Ava and Barrett’s story is funny, full of hilarious moments, sexual tension, and witty exchanges, and this is definitely one of my favorite books by Kendall Ryan. I would like to say pure perfection, everything flowed so well it was a pleasure to read. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love all words written by Kendall Ryan! Bro Code was a fun and sexy read! The "BRO CODE" is something a man does not want to break. One of the most forbidden rule is - DO NOT date your best friends sister. Do not look at her, do not lust after her, just stay in the friend zone. (Snorts laugh) Yea that did not work out well for our dear Barrett! He was a lost cause when it came to Ava. He could try all he wanted, but she was an addiction that he did not only need, but craved. Barrett tried to do the slow burn with Ava and she was not having it! At first I thought that Barrett was the one that was going to be in control and Ava flipped the switch. She went after what she wanted. Oh boy! Once you think Barrett was going to end everything, he comes back for more and more. I loved his second family. The ending will throw a curve ball to you and make you wonder what was Barrett's true attention. I love love love everything that Bro Code will bring you. You get the sexy times, the sassy, the emotional bonding, and then there is the drama! Kendall does it again by bringing us a truly amazing book!

This is one brilliantly written book. I just loved all the build up in it! Kendall is one of those authors that always hits her mark in all her stories and this one is no different. The forbidden romance of a brother's best friend and the little sister. This book is fun, flirty, sexy, and just the right amount of drama behind it. Not only is the story for Ava and Barrett phenomenal, but their individual storylines and growth pull it all together into one amazingly awesome book!

One of the Bro Code rules is that you don't date, make out and even feel attraction for your bet friend's sister. This is something that Barrett feels strongly about. Nick and Barrett have been friends for years. Barrett has been a part of the family for many years. Growing up he spent more time with Nick's family than with his own. Barrett comes home for Nick's dad's retirement party. The underlying attraction that Ava and Barrett have had for years comes bubbling to the surface. Barrett does he best to fight but Ava doesn't let him get away with it. Barrett doesn't feel like they will development a real relationship due to distance and the fact that he's super busy trying to make partner in the law firm he works for and Ava has taken over running her dad's factory after he's forced to retire due to his health. When Barrett is faced with a possible career making case that involves hurting Ava. He has to decide what he wants his future to be. Ava has to makes some very tough decisions in regards to the factory. I love how they were able to work through the hurt and misgivings to join forces for a better outcome for them all. I was surprised how accepting Nick was of Ava and Barrett's relationship when he was told about it. I expected him to atleast punch Barrett once. I must be a little blood thirsty. I love how her Mom saw right through them. Mom's 'see' everything. Especially things we aren't even aware of yet. I also loved the different aspect this story has. We have a build up of attraction, we have sexual chemistry, we have relationship and real life struggles. We also have dashes of humor.

I enjoyed Bro Code. I liked being in both Ava and Barrett's heads and getting their take on things. I also like how their relationship evolves and becomes something more. I should have seen the plot twist coming, but I didn't, which made it surprising and interesting. Ava is a strong and determined woman, especially when it comes to her job. I like how dedicated she is and how much she cares for it and her employees. Barrett was very entertaining, especially everything going on in his head. He's a hard working, smart guy who thinks he knows what he wants from life. Him and Ava are a cute couple, with a lot of funny moments together, the shopping trip in particular was hilarious! Bro Code was a light and entertaining read mixed with some steamy and sweet times.

Bro Code was music to my tropy-loving ears. It is classic "best friend's sister" goodness, and done in such a way that it felt fresh and exciting and sexy. Big time corporate attorney Barrett Wilson is taking a break from climbing the ladder to partner at his firm to come back to his home town to celebrate his BFF's father's retirement. Seeing his friend's little sister Ava again is both a blessing and a curse - there are a lot of good childhood memories with her in them, but she's now a 25-year-old beautiful woman with dreams and ambitions too, and Barrett can't run from how he feels about her, despite the "bro code" of not sleeping with your best friend's sister being in full effect. Ava is completely off limits, but I think that only makes her more desirable. Ava Saunders has always had a crush on Barrett, but she thinks he will only see her as his friend's sister. She has to put up with the torture of not only seeing him, but of him sleeping in the same house, for an entire weekend. Not only that, but, she's taking on the failing factory from her father now that he's retired, and it's stress upon stress upon stress. Bro Code was a super fast and totally enjoyable read. The characters were so easy to love. Barrett and Ava had such an easy way with each other that was born from many years of childhood memories. But, at the same time, there's now this new, delightful awkwardness that comes from awareness of each other's pull and sexuality. That awkwardness made for some really funny scenes and for some great sexual tension between these two as they fight what we just KNOW is the inevitable. The sparks that fly between Barrett and Ava are deliciously hot and sexy. I loved these two together, both as friends and as lovers. But, through it all was the looming fact that Barrett's life and ambitions were three hours away in Chicago and Ava's responsibilities remained in Indiana. How would they make it work? And, more importantly, what would happen when Ava's brother found out that Barrett had violated the bro code? All these factors propelled me through this book at a lightning pace. I couldn't get enough of it!

This best friend’s little sister romance was sweet, sexy and made me smile a lot. Barrett Wilson is best friend’s with Ava Saunder’s brother Nick and has been for over two decades. But what started out as just friendship, became something more when Barrett returns to his hometown for Ava and Nick’s dad’s retirement party. With nowhere else to stay, he ends up at the Saunders’ home, along with Ava who’s just moved back home too. From the moment of their shocking and hilarious reacquaintance in a bathroom it’s lust at first sight, but the ‘bro code’ has Barrett trying to keep Ava at arms length. It’s a lesson in futility that they both try to learn but fail at completely. This story was such fun to read, Barrett was perfectly swoony worthy and Ava a sassy and feisty bombshell. The chemistry was palpable from that first ‘big’ meeting and only grew stronger the longer they spent together. Ava was strong-willed and knew what she wanted, from running her dad’s factory to Barrett, but could she have it all? Barrett has dilemmas of his own, not the least being the unsworn promise not to mess with his best friend’s sister. His job has him in a sticky place too. He’s forced to make a choice. It’s a hard decision, because if he decides wrongly he’ll lose everything he’s been working toward becoming a partner at his law firm. But, doing what his bosses want would mean losing Ava forever. What will he decide? Find out today when you One-Click and read the Bro Code.

Kendall Ryan takes on the forbidden trope of best friend’s little sister in her newest release, BRO CODE, and while Barrett Wilson is all about keeping to the code, when an older, brilliant, feisty, and beautiful Ava Saunders re-enters his life, her off-limits status becomes a bit more problematic, especially when Ava’s boldness lays things out for Barrett in a way that cannot be misinterpreted…Ava wants Barrett, and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to act on the feelings she’s always had for him because the sexual tension that surrounds them is just too overwhelming to deny. One reason I adore stories that bring a guy’s best friend and his sister together is because readers are there from the beginning, watching the guy and the girl do everything in their power to remain only friends because giving into the attraction would spell trouble for all three of their relationships, while still knowing that the line is going to be crossed and there’s really no way of stopping it from happening, which means that at the will they or won’t they question as it applies to Barrett and Ava dramatically plays out, readers get to hear the characters’ internal struggles and become aware of their true feelings for the person they are not supposed to want. Ava is a very relatable heroine whose sharp and witty tongue makes her one of my favorite Kendall Ryan female leads. Ava is all about learning new things and is passionate about an array of topics. I love that she wants to run her father’s company and she wants to do it in a way that will make him proud but also put her own spin on it. She’s driven to succeed, not just at her job but in life as well and that’s why it’s a bit exasperating the way Barrett handles his feelings for her sometimes because it’s obvious she is one heck of an amazing package and he should be beyond excited that she wants him as much as he wants her. The Bro Code between friends definitely makes sense, especially when it comes to a younger sister, but once they reach a certain age, I don’t see it as a douchey move to consider if something could work between two people who have always crushed on each other, and it’s that idea that frustrated me when it came to some of Barrett’s actions. I get that there’s a lot on the line for him in terms of his career, his relationship with the entire Saunders family, and his best friend status with Ava’s brother, Nick, but there’s a reason that Barrett is so close to the family and so if his feelings for Ava are genuine, there should be no stopping him from acting on them and building something that just might be the best thing for both of them. Ava and Barrett’s story is full of hilarious moments, sexual tension, and witty exchanges, and while I did want to kick Barrett in the rear end sometimes, there’s not much drama involved in the story line; it’s more just waiting for Barrett to shut his brain off long enough to realize just how much he wants Ava, Bro Code be damned! 4 Poison Apples

Talk about being between a rock and a hard place. Barrett is I love with his best friend’s sister but he knows he needs to stay away to honor the code between men. Truly, I find that frustrating if someone is the love of your life, it shouldn’t matter about any code. But I appreciated Barrett’s loyalty as he tries to maintain his distance from Ava. Ava has lusted after her brother’s best friend for years. They haven’t seen each other but when they are reunited for a retirement party of Ava’s dad, well, the chemistry is electric and they both struggle, Barrett to uphold the code and Ava trying to get Barrett to break it. Ava is also faced with the challenge of running her father’s factory, a business that is faltering while Barrett is working hard to become partner at his law firm. Will the code win? Will life push them in different directions? I enjoyed the struggle for Barrett, Ava does a great job pushing all his buttons. When the drama ramped up, I was worried as I devoured every moment to see what would happen.
