I have to say that I am really enjoying this series about the Blackthorne men and the women that capture their hearts. Each story is written by a different author and I love the diversity of the stories and the writing, with each author capturing the heart of the men they are writing about. This time it is Brock and Jenna Gillespie’s story and I was captivated from the first chapter. Brock seems to me to be the most serious one of the group, tasked with managing the Blackthorne Brand. Brock will do anything it takes to keep the family name and brand protected; after all the Blackthorne’s have a reputation going back generations to uphold. When Jenna, an investigative journalist tells him that she is doing a story on his family and his family’s whisky recipe, Brock decides that he needs to keep a close eye on her. The attraction and chemistry between Brock and Jenna is there from their first meeting and it only grows throughout the story. What will happen when secrets long buried are revealed? This is a well written, funny, romantic, passionate read and can be read as a stand alone. However having said that, this group of men have become a favourite series of mine this year, so why not one click them all. Brock was an entertaining read, with twists and turns that are sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. Who will be forced to give up everything for the sake of love? One click and find out.

ARC for honest review with no compensation received from L Woods PR Brock by Roxanne St. Clair is book 5 in the series 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes written by six other amazing authors! Each book is a standalone but has an underlying story that connects to each book... Brock Blackthorne, the keeper of the Blackthorne brand, protecting the family name, keeping any skeletons in the closet and the company’s reputation spotless. What he doesn’t expect is to see the beautiful woman he met and shared a cab with in a summer storm to be the same woman who wamts to write a tell all book about the Blackthornes, the stolen whisky recipe and the rumors that are abound... Jenna Gillespie, biographer, the daughter of well known investigative journalists and who’s job, advance and reputation is on the line must discover some skeletons in the Blackthorne closet or lose everything. Brock wants to keep her at his side to control what she writes but when she discovers a lead to the so called stolen whisky recipe he is determined to help her and prove once and for all the recipe is not stolen! Lots of laughter, chemistry, twists, turns, attraction and hopefully a HEA... Logan by Samantha Chase is up next but we are still don’t have any answers to the underlying story...

Brock is Book 5 of a multi-author series about the Blackthorne Family. While this is part of a series, it can be easily read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend you read all of the books since you get to follow the story line of this amazing family. Loved how even though each brother/cousin in the Blackthorne family is written by different authors they all flow so well together. Brock is returning back to Boston after a long get away back home to Maine. He goes to the office before going back home only to discover that he has an appointment scheduled the next morning with an author who wants to write a book about his family. Brock is all about branding and protecting the family's reputation, and doesn't want to meet with this author but because the publisher is a family friend he is forced to. He plans to do his best to steer the author in the direction he wants the book to go. Enter Jenna, who was burned in her attempt to write a previous book only to have to cancel it as it was set to go to press. She is pressured by her famous parents, as well as the publishing company, to get a sensational story about the Blackthornes. She has heard rumors of the famous Blackthorne Gold Whisky recipe as being stolen, and is determined to find out the truth. Brock will do anything to protect his family. With their mutual attraction for each other, and with both of them overcoming phobias makes for a great story. You won't be disappointed to see how this story unfolds.

Brock, you delicious suit wearing-rule following-Blackthorne man. The attraction was instant - on both Jenna's and my ends. I loved Roxanne's easy style of writing which made this one of my favorite Blackthorne books yet. Brock; the man in the suit who is all about the Blackthorne brand. David; comfortable in cargo shorts and loves his family. Brock David Blackthorne is the ultimate fantasy. The Clark Kent/Superman kind of book boyfriend who easily puts on his suit to do good for his family, then is able to put on his glasses and become the nerdy escort to help out Jenna even when she gets herself into a big pickle. This is my kind of kryptonite when it comes reading...super big sigh over sexy, nerdy Brock. Brock Blackthorne is a hard worker, loves his family and doesn't sleep around and the few weaknesses he has are extremely adorable. It's easy to see why Jenna Gillespie falls for the man so quickly or at least the Clark Kent version of the man. Their backwards relationship is full of chemistry and adds to the ultra sizzle that makes this story really pop. The overall Blackthorne arc has centered around a secret that perhaps went back to the beginning of the family legacy, but this story in particular really dug around in the history of the Blackthornes giving it an element of suspense and mystery which was a nice bonus. Jenna Gillespie is a writer who is there to write a kind of "tell all" book on the Blackthorne's. Brock, who is the gatekeeper for anything that touches the Blackthorne name, gets the final say on what Jenna would publish, but given the night they spent together (where neither one knew who the other was) makes Brock even more territorial than normal. He is also concerned given the events surrounding his aunts recent departure that Jenna could upset the Blackthorne business if her questions create a feeling of instability while digging for clues or whatever she's looking for in writing her book. Brock may find Jenna extremely attractive, but he will always put his family first. He decides to stick close to Jenna and monitor her to sideline anything that could be harmful before it becomes a problem. The fact that she's beautiful and could end up in his bed again is just a potential bonus. This story was a fantastic addition to the overall series and with only two more books to go, it definitely made me anxious to see how everything turns out for the Blackthorne family.

Roxanne St. Claire never fails to create interesting characters then surround them with intriguing stories that engage both my heart and my mind. While Brock and Jenna both have lives very different from my own, I was able to relate to each of them and the challenges they faced. I adored Brock, especially when he threw off his corporate persona, donned his glasses (I do love a man in glasses), and let his hair down. I liked that St. Claire made him strong, but vulnerable. I loved his chemistry with Jenna. I also loved his gut-deep belief in the Blackthorne family's good reputation but it was his sense of fairness in uncovering the truth, even if that was at his family's expense, that really won me over. Yes, there was that moment of male stupidity but he redeemed himself nicely. If Jenna could forgive him, so could I. ;-) In less talented hands, Jenna could have come off as a villainous character but St. Claire gave her texture, depth, and a moral core that, rather than making her repellent, endeared her to me even more. I fully understood the dilemma she faced, given her background, especially as she came to know both Brock and his family better, and I was fully confident that she would do the right thing for both them and for her. And speaking of Brock's family, I fell head over heels in love with Nana. I mean, who wouldn't love a sprightly senior citizen who creates serene gardens, protects her family with the ferocity of a tiger, and can drink most of them under the table. Forget loving her. I want to be her! While this is the fifth book in the multi-author, 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes series, it's the first I've read and stands well on its own. Several characters from earlier books have page time, enough to make me want to read their stories without stealing the focus from Brock and Jenna. And, while there appears to be a mystery regarding Brock's aunt that carries across the series, the mystery of the Blackthorne whisky recipe is solved in this book, bringing Brock and Jenna's romantic journey to a well-deserved, happy ending. From beginning to end, it's a journey I enthusiastically recommend. 4.5 stars

Thoroughly enjoyed Brock and Jenna, a slow burning romance that will soon heat up the pages. Brock has the job to protect his family history and name, so when Jenna comes along to get the story of her life on the Blackthornes, Brock goes along with her. Soon much history and skeletons will come out of the closet along with the budding relationship of Jenna and Brock. A fast paced story with lots of secrets, suspense and romance that will keep you turning the pages. This is part of a multiauthor series but each book can be read as a stand alone.

This book was pretty dang good. There was mystery, history, fear, lust, and fun. It was a lot of stuff crammed into this book and it kept me reading until I was done. Brock and Jenna have such a great chemistry and they both want the truth. Jenna wants to know the history of the Blackthornes, warts and all. Brock wants to control the history given to her to ensure a positive outcome. Hasn't he learned by now that you can't control everything, especially a woman on a mission. I loved learning about the backstory for the family and the whisky (no e). But it was also interesting to learn of the love story for Alistair Blackthorne and Graham Sr. But I think I enjoyed the history of the estate the best. Hearing about how it came to be and how the seven boys would play hide and seek and other kid games. And let us not forget sneaking girls in as teenagers. I feel like I've become enmeshed in this family and not someone looking in from the outside.

What an excellent story that I could not put down! Brock Blackthorne is part of the wealthy Blackthorne family that has made their money through whisky, yachts and race cars that all bear their name. Brock's job is to keep the brand name clean and he takes his job very seriously. When Brock heads back to Boston after a vacation at the family house in King Harbor, Maine he happens upon a beautiful woman, Jenna Gillespie, when they both try to get the same cab in the middle of a rainstorm. One thing leads to another and they end up spending the night together. The next day, back at work, Brock meets with the journalist who would like to write a book about the Blackthorne family and it is none other than Jenna! Brock decides he will work with Jenna just so he can oversee and control what she will write about. Of course the more time they spend together, the more feelings start getting involved. When Brock and Jenna uncover an interesting lead, they work together to try to find out answers until Brock ends up blindsided. It will take a whole lot of looking inside their hearts before these two can get to their happy ending but it will be so worth it! I just adored Brock and Jenna. They both were looking for something in their lives and they ended up finding it in each other. It was fun watching both of them fall hard!

This was such a sweet book. I really enjoyed Brock and Jenna's story. From the first time they meet you want to see where their story takes them. I love this author and I happily read ever book she writes. Her dialogue is always well written and her characters come to life. You find yourself invested in the characters she writes. I realized when I started reading this book that it was #5 in the series. Now I want to go and read the first 4 books. Each of the Blackthorne men each get their own books written by various authors.

Captivated the moment I started reading and still yearning for more now that I am done. Smexy man, beautiful girl, Scottish whisky, a dash of mystery, secrets and possibly love. Jenna has something to prove to her parents, herself and book critics. Will her tell all book on the Blackthorne's save her reputation as a writer. Brock has something to hide, a family secret and possibly his heart. Will he be able to keep focus on the truth? Lives can be changed when a secret is revealed, but how do you keep up a lie. Do you face facts or run for the hills? This is something that Brock and Jenna have to figure out together in order to save themselves. This is a wonderful story of two people that complete each other. Reading their story and I can picture myself there, especially standing on the Widow's Walk. Make sure you are ready to stay to the end once you open this book!

Brock and Jenna have an interesting adventure on their way to finding love in Brock, book five in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes series, written by Roxanne St. Claire. Each book is part of the series but is a standalone story. Brock and Jenna meet in the most unusual manner, sharing a cab during a rain storm which leads to an interesting night together. When Brock discovers that Jenna is researching the family he decides, as protector of the family name and reputation, to make sure that she will not uncover anything related to the rumor that the whisky recipe was stolen. In order to do this Brock decides to help her, certain that anything they find will clear the rumor and cloud over the family name. As these two get closer to finding the truth their attraction and chemistry also develop, causing conflicts of all sorts. Not only do these two discover the truth, they discover a love so strong that neither can live without the other. Two things really stuck with me while reading this story. First, Jenna and Brock helped each other deal with major fears each has had since childhood; Jenna lightening and Brock heights. Secondly, as an only child of older and famous parents, Jenna often felt lonely. Brock and the Blackthornes might have provided a family of siblings and cousins for Jenna but she and Brock discovered that the true opposite of loneliness is love. That is such a heart-warming thought. Ms. St. Claire wrote a tale rich with sexual chemistry, humor, tearful moments, and endearing characters giving Brock and Jenna a chance for happiness, love and a lifelong future together. I definitely recommend Brock to other readers and look forward to checking out the other books in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I really liked Jenna and Brock. When they met, it was instant attraction. But, when Jenna finds out who Brock really is, he is off limits. Jenna is trying to write a book about his family. He is making sure that she doesn't write a book that doesn't show his family in an unfavorable light. She discovers some facts about an old secret. He wants the truth, but he doesn't want to announce it to all the world. When it is all over, will they still be together or will the old secrets keep them apart?

This is another great read by Roxanne St. Claire. The chance meeting of Jenna and Brock turns out to be pretty complicated when they each discover who the other is the following morning. Jenna is a writer wanting to found out all the secrets in Brock's family, while Brock is at first determined to give her nothing to write about. Her career hangs in the balance, but Brock's family's past and present hang in the balance. What they shared the night before is certainly going to complicate things for both of them. St. Claire writes wonderful characters, engaging plots and does sexy better than anyone I know. She is a one click author for me. I've really enjoyed everything I've written by her...and that's quite a lot! I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

Rocki has done it again … I loved Brock’s story so much, and Brock has become a very favorite hero of mine. I love how Rocki sets the scene, and the characters just come alive for me. This one was another great example of that. I soared through this book …. It was so great! I wonder … can the Blackthornes adopt me? I’m really excited to see what lies ahead for this family.

“Brock” is Book 5 in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes series. This book is by one of my favorite authors Roxanne St. Claire. Most all of her books I’ve read are a love story with an animal as a main part of the story. Brock is a different animal. It is a mystery with a love story wrapped up inside. Jenna is an author who is sent to find a story in the Blackthorne history of whisky making. They have a huge family of which Brock is one of them. She meets him the first night in town, but he calls himself David. Despite their professional issues, they seem to fit together. Jenna and Brock discover there is some mystery in who owns the recipe for the Scottish whisky the company makes. Plus suspicious payments of millions of dollars sent out the Platt family. The mystery builds throughout the story and was exciting to the end. A good and exciting book.

I received a free ARC of Brock, by Roxanne St. Claire, part of the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes, for an honest review. I loved the book. I could not put it down. I was originally on the fence as to whether or not I wanted to read the series, and reading Brock's story and how he interacts with his brothers and cousins, made me change my mind. I have already downloaded the first two stories and have pre-ordered the other four. Brock is the story of Brock Blackhorne, who is in charge for maintaining the image and brand of Blackthorne Gold whisky. On a rainy evening, Brock hails a cab and as he opens one car door, Jenna Gillespie opens the other and they decide to share the taxi. Jenna is in town to meet with Brock to write a "tell all" book about the Blackthornes, hoping to dig us some family secrets. Brock introduces himself as "David", because he doesn't want Jenna to know that he is a Blackthorne and Brock is such a rare name. Therefore, Jenna does not realize that "David" is Brock Blackthorne. Things heat up between Jenna and David and they spend the night in Jenna's hotel room. Brock is surprised to discover that his early morning meeting with "J. Gillespie" is with Jenna. Brock is uncertain if he wants to help Jenna write her book about his family. She brings up the idea that the recipe for their Blackstone Gold whiskey was stolen, and he wants to put an end to this rumor once and for all. Jenna is hell bent on discovering some Blackthorne family secrets to assure the book is a bestseller. Brock agrees to help Jenna, only because he wants to control and know what she is writing. As things continue to heat up between them, Jenna tells Brock that she does not want to start any relationship with him, until her book is done. She is concerned how it might look to her publisher. Like all Roxanne St. Claire books, this one includes her signature bittersweet moments, heartwarming memories, wonderful characters, and an amazing story. I love Fiona Blackthorne, Brock's grandmother. She is so funny and feisty, and so protective of her family. Both Jenna and Brock have crippling fears, which makes them so real. Love the surprise plot twist that Roxanne throws in near the end, as always. It was a wonderful story and I could not put it down. Glad that everything was resolved in the end, and some of it I did not see coming. I love how Roxanne includes details about the other brothers and cousins and their relationships, even though she did not write the other books in the series. I am certain it will be one of my favorites in the series and am sure it will make for a wonderful series. So looking forward to reading the other books.

This series is awesome and Roxanne's contribution is priceless. Watching the Blackthorne men fall. The Power struggle between the men and the women they fall for is fun to see. And Jenna and her adventurous spirit and finding the truth makes the book exciting as well as fun.

He's the man with a plan. She's a woman with her own agenda. What neither counted on was their emotions getting in the way. With every Blackthorne this series keeps getting better. This time around Roxanne St. Claire puts the family fixer in the spotlight. Brock is the keeper of secrets. He takes his duties quite seriously. When a inquisitive woman who plays by her own rules sets her sites on his family, all bets are off. Between butting heads and tempting fate, Brock and Jenna start to face some hard truths about themselves and the people around them. But when the blinders come off and feelings are exposed, will they be able to trust each other enough to fall in love? Brock is a firework that never loses heart.

This series tells us stories about the 7 Blackstones brothers and cousins of the whisky dynasty. Brock and his brothers were taken in by their uncle and aunt when their parents were killed in an airplane accident. Now an adult, Brock aims to always maintain the Blackstone name and reputation clean. Jenna Gillespie, a journalist, has been assigned to write a tell all story about the Blackstones and find any of their “dirty” secrets. Their first meeting was unexpected and their second one , even more surprising. But both, though attracted to each other, are still dubious about the other. One wants to hold on to the family’s name and keep it clear of any defamation, and the other one is looking for redemption. The story was entertaining filled with some mystery and romance. I have to confess, even though it’s a stand alone in the series, I did feel I was missing something by not having read the previous books. Those couples make an appearance in the story and as a reader, we are suppose to know their story as well. Still, it’s a good story. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinion expressed are solely my own.
