the album is good, and not supposed to be the length of a regular cd! It was intended to be an EP, and it is actually pretty lengthy for an EP at that, ironically. Plus, its not 6 tracks dude, keep listening.

Just to clear up any confusion: one of the above reviews makes quite a silly and rather pointless point. "Great album but not enough songs." The length of Broken would of course be on the shorter end of things, seeing as how it was released as an EP, not an album. Oh well. However, it stands alone as a piece of work very well indeed. Broken is violent, sexual, and angry, and musically very interesting. I find that every time I hear it, I notice something new about it or a layer to the music that I didn't even know existed. Excellent, excellent stuff.

The first sentence of Winston Smith’s review (a blazing, distorted fireball of self destructive rage) together with “a blast of destruction” (I think Trent Reznor’s own words) are the best descriptions of Broken I have ever read. This remains my favorite Nine Inch Nails record. The Downward Spiral is a masterpiece, but this is the one that started it all. Buy it right away!

Broken is a Great NIN album but I think there wasn't enough tracks on there. I mean it was like only 33 minutes and when youre a big fan of a group you want more than just 6 songs right? That's the only reason I gave it only 4 stars BUT IT WAS STILL GOOD THOUGH.

At first glance of this album, everyone thinks the same thing: wow, this is short! But great albums are great albums no matter what length. Usually many great albums are just short of classic because of excess tracks that take away from the albums greatness. The album starts out on such a hard level with an awesome guitar riff that shows Trent Reznor can jam on any instrument he chooses. The album goes on an all out assault of the ear drum until the second instrumental calms the listener down until the hardest song on the album follows, getting the energy back up. This album may not be the best of Nine Inch Nails' work (don't let that take away from it's greatness) it could easily be the zenith of any other musicians career. 5 stars!

Brilliant. Angry. Intelligent.

A blazing, distorted fireball of self destructive rage. Broken is a forceful example of the peak of mental anguish's lowest moment. Absolute brilliance. To this day Broken, and it's counterpart EP Fixed, stand as the peak of Reznor's work. While his later releases would also be amazing in their own right, they did not have the mentally explosive impact Broken had.
