As tired as I got and as hard as I tried, I could not put this book down! Page after page of detail and suspense had the pages almost turning themselves! If you enjoy a good story mixed with some pretty dark doings, this is the book for you!

If any of you believe your family wins the dysfunctional crown, I invite you to meet the Morrows and reconsider your situation. This is the second book I've read by Ania Ahlborn and she has earned a permanent place on my list of favorite horror authors. Ms. Ahlborn reveals through alternating past and present chapters how Michael came to be in his hellish situation and establishes the twisted family dynamics. Although my suspicions about where this book might be headed were confirmed, the final reveal was no less disturbing, unsettling and masterful. I'd love to say more about this book, but don't want to wander into spoiler territory. Brother is an extremely dark, gruesome, and emotional read, so be warned, but I couldn't tear myself away from it. I strongly recommend this for horror/psychological thriller fans. This review is based on a digital ARC from the publisher through NetGalley.

I couldn't put it down and when I had to stop reading all I did was think about the story to come. It kept my attention pretty much the whole time. It's a must read in my book..

Though it was quite a twisted novel and difficult for me to read, it was full of surprises and was quite good.

This was a real page turner! It's dark and deeply disturbing but not gratuitous and is very well written. You won't be disappointed.

I thought that this book was absolutely fantastic! I have not been so mesmerized by a book in a long time. This book was incredibly bloody, incredibly twisted, and just absolutely awesome. I realize that I almost missed out on this book. I didn't even take a second look at this title when it was on NetGalley. When I noticed a couple of great reviews on Goodreads, I put my name on the list at the local library because I am always ready for a great book. If I had only known how good this one was going to be, I doubt that I would have waited nearly as patiently. This is the story of Micheal and his family, the Morrows. This family is not your average family. Not at all. This family is a group of twisted sick people. The kind of people that you hope to never cross paths with during your lifetime. They live in a secluded house where it is easier to hide some of their hobbies from the general population. Micheal seems like a rather nice guy....all things considered. Micheal spends the majority of his time with his brother, Reb. I really can't think of anything nice to say about Reb. He really has no redeeming qualities that I can think of. His sister, Misty, is really just trying to get through each day. Wade, the father, is quiet and really seems to be taking orders most of the time. Momma is unpredictable and frightening. This book grabbed me on the first page...literally page 1! I found this story very hard to put down. There was a section where I wanted it to be just a little bloodier but I kept turning the pages and my wishes were granted. I was enjoying this nice bloody story when things took an unexpected twist. This story actually took several turns that I did not see coming. The way that the story ended was mind boggling. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys horror. There is a lot of blood and violence in this one so it may not be the perfect book for everyone but I found it to be a much welcome surprise. This is the first book by Ania Ahlborn that I have read but I have already purchased a couple of additional titles that I hope to read soon.

Brother is one of my favorite books to have read in 2015. Unrelentingly dark, this is perhaps the very definition of macabre. A tale of horror and despair lies within, sparing few details along the way The book starts out strong and ends even stronger, keeping the reader engrossed and dying to know what's going to happen next, page-for-page. There are so many puzzle pieces that come together at the end of story revealing a disturbing and horrific picture, beautifully crafted by Ania Ahlborn. While definitely not for the faint of heart, any horror fan should love this read, very highly recommended.

Brother - Ania Ahlborn Thank you Ania Ahlborn for providing me with a novel that has haunted me for days. How you arrived at such an outlandish story is beyond me but I was in for the duration and what a fantastic time it was. I wanted to share this remarkable story to everyone as its merits were definitely worth shouting about but on the other hand, I was worried about the looks individuals might give me, for how can someone be so thrilled at the destruction, the terror and the pain that filled the pages inside this novel? The story, its layers and the complexity of it all was marvelous and it deserves high praises. My emotions played a huge role as I read, for they moved from character to character as the story revealed the many layers that comprised the story. I wanted to finish the novel yet I hung on and slowly read the ending as I didn’t want to let go of the characters, just waiting for something else to evolve. Michael’s family lived out in the sticks, an ideal situation for the family as no one can hear them or the sounds that emit from their house any time of the day. Physical violence plays a major role and it’s all just a part of life for this family. The cruelty is relentless and I find myself just waiting for them to find their next victim. This is Michael’s life with his new family and there’s a lot going on. He has a lot to think about and he thinks about his future. He knows no other life but he does know that his family life is not something you talk about with individuals outside the family. As I read, I could hear the footsteps and feel the oppression in the air, the air nothing has changed. thicken as the confrontations were about to begin. My face begins to contort and I know it’s not going to be good, it hasn’t been good previously. I received a copy of this novel from NetGalley and Gallery, Threshold Pocket Books in exchange for an honest opinion.

This is a horror story you will devour in one sitting and that will stay with you for days! This cover intrigued me, it was the reason I chose to read this one. I knew it was going to be a good one, but I never imagined it to be as great as it was! I will definitely be devouring every book this author has written if they are all as brilliant and enoyable as this! This book is one horror fans are NOT going to want to miss! This book has been added to my list of top favorite horror stories! It is a chilling, bloody, horrific novel! Sick, twisted, and brilliant! The characters are easily memorable, the storyline flows easily from page to page. I didn't want this story to ever end! This author does horror perfectly! WARNING! This book is not for the faint of heart! If you have a weak stomach, or scare easily. Nightmares will come easily after reading this book. Don't read this while home alone!

I received this book from the Publisher via in exchange for a honest review. Brother is about a boy named Micheal who is forcefully adopted into a family that isn't normal by all means. His family is into stalking and killing young girls until one day when Michael's older brother Ray or Rebel decides to change that up by stopping by a record store and that's when he meets Alice. Alice is someone who he can see running away with to get away from his adopted family but Rebel has a different plan in mind that will send Michael on a journey to discover who he really is and what he has done to his real family. This is the first horror book I read and it had me on my toes wandering what is gonna happen next. I didn't see the shocking twist at the end but the way the book ended was perfect for all that happened. If you are into horror books, I would totally recommend this book! Thank You to Ania Ahlborn for writing a spine tingling book that had me on my toes the entire time!
