BILL MARTIN JR (1916-2004) was an elementary-school principal, teacher, writer and poet, with doctorate in early childhood education. In addition to the beloved Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?, Martin's books include Listen to the Rain and Knots on a Counting Rope.

Bill Martin, Jr. (1916-2004) was an elementary-school principal, teacher, writer, and poet. His more than 300 books, among them the bestselling classics Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?; Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?; Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See?; and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, are a testament to his ability to speak directly to children. Martin held a doctoral degree in early childhood education. Born in Kansas, he worked as an elementary-school principal in Chicago before moving to New York City, where he worked in publishing developing innovative reading programs for schools. After several years, he devoted himself full-time to writing his children’s books. He lived in New York until 1993, when he moved to Texas. He lived in the east Texas woods, near the town of Commerce, until he passed away in 2004.

Gwyneth Paltrow won the Academy Award and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in Shakespeare in Love. Appearing in countless films that span many different genres, Gwyneth is versatile in her craft. Her many credits include Country Strong, Iron Man and Iron Man 2, Running with Scissors, Infamous, Sylvia, Shallow Hal, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Shakespeare in Love, Sliding Doors, and Emma. I read this book in elementary school and have never forgotten it. This is a fun book that teaches colors, animals, and a love for reading that will last. I still remember lines from the book. This book may have been what inspired me to write poetry.

I am in 7th grade, this was the first book i ever read and after 8 years (counting kinder) i still have this book memorized. Honestly, (i can say this because it is anomamys) this is my favorite book ever.

I actually have this book. It's great! My child is a 2 year ols and already talking! He learns new words! Teasher(teacher). Seep(sheep). Okay, he doesn't say them perfectly but is great for a 2 year old! He actually sits me down to read! GET IT!!
