About the Author

D. E. Thomas is a former clinical social worker and educator who has had many years of experience working with children both in clinical and educational settings. Through her work, she has helped numerous children cope with issues of loss, abandonment, change, and bereavement. D. E. Thomas hopes to encourage children through her books and to help them identify methods of coping when faced with life challenges. She draws her inspiration from the many parables told to her as a youth by her Jamaican parents, both of whom have been instrumental in teaching her core life lessons and traditions.

When she is not writing, D. E. Thomas enjoys spending time with her amazing husband, with whom she shares the incredible blessing of raising their two vibrant daughters and caring for their adorable shih tzu, Marilyn.
