She takes her pain in silence and even goes to blame herself for her mother's irratical behavior. Michael enjoys speding time with Judith butsoonworries about the black and blue briuses covered on her back as well as her frequent absenses from school. Together they are able to support eachother and find hope.As she keeps her secret she moves away.So Micheal sets out to find her, after finding out about the abuse, to save her life.

Judith is a young girl who hides the bruies that she gets from her abusive mother. Yet because of this she is forced to hide herself. She is forced to lie, be quiet, and to an extent invisible to the rest of the world. She takes her pain in silence and even goes to blame herself for her mother's irratical behavior. Slowly she is able to develop a sense of who she is when she befriends a boy named Michael in her class. Michael enjoys speding time with Judith butsoonworries about the black and blue briuses covered on her back as well as her frequent absenses from school. Together they are able to support eachother and find hope.

this book was a little too, predictable. not to me, but to the characters. somehow everyone knew everything about everyone. the characters seemed to be able to figure out judiths problem, and life, without even meeting her. i didnt like that part of the book all too much, it really annoyed me because in real life, no one can read you like a book like these people did. over all, this story was ok, but some things seemed to be over the top. i would reccomend this to someone who just needs to pass the time, it might not be for someone who takes reading very serious.

This Is One Of The Best Books I've Ever Read . This Is A very Captivating Story. I Enjoyed Reading Every Chapter Of It . It's A Very Realistic Story Cause This Happens Alot To Children , Children Have Very Abusive Parents And They just Don't Understand That They Are Damaging Their Kids Not Only Physically But Mentally. I Recommend This Book To Everyone .It's Great :)

I loved it. It was such a sad story about a young girl whose mother beats her whenever she's in a bad mood. Her mother makes up lies about her and why she is absent all the time from school. The young girl one day seeks comfort from a new kid at school who tries to help her get through with all her troubles.

Seemed a bit strange because it was foreign but a good story. Nonetheless it was an amazing story of two friends who have trouble with their parents. Especially Judith who has to put up with reoccuring beatings from her mother. Michael becomes her best friend and shares his feelings about his father who was hard on him when they lived together.

This was really good. It was kinda written as if it was a new and inexperienced writer, and maybe it was, just that if you have a high standard of books you might not want to read this. But if you don't criticize too sharply, this was really really good, I liked it a lot.

I think that this book is really enspiring to parents and children.I would not like to be in Judiths place but i do feel for her. I also think michael is very sweet to do everything he does for her.I really suggest this book for most young adults.

I love, love, love this book. It is so well written and so amazingly powerful. You feel as though you are Judith and you feel her pain. Anke de Vries is a remarkable writer. This is a realistic look inside the heart and soul of an abused child.
