You come to love Brute so much

This wonderful novel set in a world of magic and fantasy but is itself a simple story about kindness and true love. Never does it feel rushed or the characters false. Even the main love story is slowly built on as you get to know our beloved hero Brute and his tragic love Gray. Be prepared to cry your eyes out as you fall in love with this tale of a "monster" and his prisoner.

What a wonderful book! I generally don't "feel-good" movies or stories all that interesting. I expected this book to being something of a drama/romance, which it is, but in part, at least, it certainly was a "feel-good" story for me -- and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It never got mushy or maudlin or corny. It was, I thought, a very creative and still quite credible take on how a deep connection might develop from a most unlikely meeting of two somewhat tragic souls. Good story, aided by the tiniest bit of magic, good characters, good dialogue, and on the whole, a very good read.
