You have to follow the instructions, and not just 'read' this book. If you do, it will help you to slowly re-wire your brain. This is not a religious book, but more like a handbook for the mind.

Excellent book, IMO.  Highly recommended for anyone who is interested in Buddhism from a secular statement rather than a religious standpoint.

This is the only review I've ever felt compelled to write. This book integrates the latest in brain research with mindfulness practices and explains, in easy to understand terms, exactly what is going on in our brains. It explains why positive thinking does change lives. It gives specific exercises that can change your life. I've done a great deal of reading and found this book to be excellent. I ordered it for my adult daughter and will recommend but not let go of my copy. If you are curious and want to be responsible for your own happiness and joy this book is for you! Enjoy!

Barns & Noble keeps their promise on shipping. The book arrived at it's destination one day earlier then I thought it would.

Rick Hansen does a fabulous job of linking the sciences of neurology and psychology, to Buddhism by meshing objective conventional science with subjective contemplative science. His language is easy to follow and he uses plenty of examples that challenge careful evaluation.
