A dying woman. A handsome ghost. Can the two make her final dream come true?

Carrie Hansen won’t let her failing health stop her from fulfilling her own last wish. Vowing to transform an aging plantation house into a beautiful wedding venue, she plans to live out her last days celebrating happiness. But between renovation problems and family interference, Carrie fears she’ll never see anyone walk down the aisle.

Civil War soldier Thomas Gentry took his final breath back in 1861 and has been haunting the crumbling manor ever since. So when the new owner messes with his routine and starts renovating the place, he vows to preserve the status quo. But his frustration melts as his heart is struck by her beauty and passion…

With the support of the ruggedly attractive ghost, Carrie makes progress on the house while fearing for the unlikely couple’s impractical future.

With her own time running out, will Carrie have a chance to celebrate her own happy ending?

Very well written, easy read. No explicit sex or language. Several interesting characters that will have you searching for the next book in the series as soon as you're done.

If you're one of those readers like myself, a great book is not only hard to put down while reading, but hard to forget about when you've finished it. I loved the characters, was thoroughly entertained as the story unfolded, and can't wait to read the next two in this trilology. Very happy to have come across Annette Drake - I'm now a fan! Good, clean, and wonderfully written. Read'll love Building Celebration House.

I enjoyed the interaction between the main character and the spirits along with the historic background .

I don't think the ending was too much of a surprise. I really was saddened by having the sister continue on through to the next book. I shall want to avoid reading the rest. On the positive, this was a true tear jerker, as the veil betwixt the living and long gone can and do communicate with one special person. I do admit being curious as to who will see the very active, long gone genteel characters, that aren't gone.

Interesting. Love that Carrie wanted to do something positive in her remaining time alive. Love that she could see the former inhabitants of the house and get their input on the restoration. Will be reading future books by this author.

Very nicely written. Characters ‘come to life’ on each page. A little predictable. Still, made me cry a little.......

This is a great representation of how to handle a terminal diagnosis. Caught between people working against her, Carrie follows her dreams to refurbish a home that will live on forever. While it may be unusual, the reader still gets their happy ending.
