Matzah hametz parsley and salt water, maror, haroset the lamb’s bone, the haggadah, the afikomen and Elijah’s cup are things which we use at the Passover seder. They are introduced in The Building Jewish Life Passover Activity Book (Blue Label). In BJL Passover (Red Label) we go much further, reviewing these symbols to show how they teach Passover’s meaning. The Haggadah tells: "In each generation, every person should feel as though he or she had actually gone out from Egypt." Throughout BJL Passover, this concept comes to life as seven kids tell us their own stories of what it was like to leave Egypt. Along the way, the 15 steps in the Seder service help us to recreate and remember what it was like to be a slave in Egypt, and what it was like when we were set free. BJL Passover also makes a point of teaching the structure and organization of the seder. After working with this resource, students and their families will know the major prayers and actions in the seder, and they will understand how they fit together. BA Passover helps the Seder make sense, and helps families to make it a productive experience. The exercises, parents’ introduction, and teacher’s guide further enrich this experience.
