*4.5 Stars* This is one of those stories that will not just tug at your heartstrings but speak to your soul. Jessi McPherson does an excellent job weaving a story together. The author truly focuses on some really good character development. Josliyn really comes alive and the author makes sure to not define her by what she's gone through but paints her with all the vivid complexities of life. I also fell in love with Caleb and the friendship between him and Josilyn came across so genuine. The plot held together with some good twists. It definitely provided more of a peek behind the curtain at times, which kept me engaged. There was some really talented buildup between Josliyn and Dillon in the beginning but I felt that wavered a bit, which is why the partial point deduction. It ends in a cliffhanger and I'll immediately be reading book 2. Definitely recommend!
