A disturbing case of violent experiments with supernaturals join Cain and Eve on a dangerous situation where they have to fight for their lives and to protect each other. The author devises a story where all the aspects - be it the plot of Wyatt's experiments, the romance between Cain and Eve or the secondary characters - are riveting and captivating. The relashionship of the main couple is explosive and hot, literally!, and a touching one. This was the first book I've read with a Phoenix character and I'm looking forward for the next one, featured by the vampire Ridey, which interests me a lot!

This book was awesome! A great new take on the supernatural/shifters.  If you love dark, hot alphas and a heroine who's not afraid to stand up to him, you'll love this book.  I can't wait for the next two books in this series.

NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 REVIEW:  Being undercover didn’t turn out the way that Eve had planned. I don’t think that she ever expected to see the type of pain and torture that were being inflicted on the subjects in Genesis's control. And I am 100% she never thought she would end up as one of those subjects.  This was a great start to a new series by Cynthia. I really enjoyed this book. Cain & Eve are great to read about. Although I would have like to see more about what Eve is. I felt a little let down on that part. I was hoping she would use her powers in some awesome way. Maybe we will get to see more of that in future books. And speaking of future books I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. Ryder’s books should be an awesome journey. Really like this vampire :)  Disclaimer:  I received a complimentary copy of the book from BRAVA in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.

4.5 - "I'm the monster in the dark. The big, f*****g bad wolf. I've seen hell, and I've bought hell to earth." Stars. Cynthia Eden, has once again not let me down. Whether it is a romantic suspense, paranormal or a mixture of the both, she always offers up likeable characters, unusual storylines and panty-melting sexy-times. Another BIG plus for me is that a lot of her books run in series, and I am an absolute glutton when it comes to my series’. ”You want me…” “But you also want to get as far away from me as you can.” Burn for Me, is book one in the Phoenix Fire series, it genre is paranormal through and through, but the romantic suspense is fully front and center as well. I have never been a huge reader of this genre in the past, but due to the likes of Cynthia Eden and a couple of other notable authors, I have been dipping my toe more regularly in this pond, and I can safely say I have a permanently soggy foot now! This book/series features all of your usual shifters, vampires etc, but more unique and unusual beings as well as lots of twists and turns, explosions, fights, thrills and spills. Why does everything with the paranormals always have to be about blood? I loved this book, Eve as a reporter and her endless quest for the truth was a little annoying at points. But Cain… be still my hammering heart, dominant, alpha and controlling, but in totally deliciously, dirty and sexy ways! ”You smell like f*****g candy.” I plan on spending my weekend devouring more books in this series, Ryder and Trace have stories to be told, and I can’t wait to read them! ”No matter how strong… everyone has a weakness.”

I received an awesome, wonderful, sensational, eloquently well-written, romantic, paranormal story Burn For Me by Cynthia Eden free from Goodreads. Eve Bradley is a reporter who goes undercover to find out if the supernaturals were in the Genesis Group voluntarily and if they were being ill treated. Eve meets subject Thirteen, Cain, who is being tortured and killed over and over again against his will and each time he comes back alive burning everyone around him. Eve and Cain are thrown in together locked in as Cain is again tortured and killed. Cain is drawn to Eve and tries to fight the monster inside of him to not burn her alive. I loved reading the story and could not wait to finish reading the book. I highly recommend the phenomenally suspenseful hot and steamy Burn For Me by Cynthia Eden.

I agree with the 2/8 reviewer. I am on page 164 and i can not remember the name of the female lead! Totally wasted $10.

This book started off pretty interesting even if it's basically another mad scientist paranormal story. The main reason for the low rating is the female lead.  I don't think of her as being strong just very stupid and annoying. I can't even bring myself to finish this.

I thought it was a great book!

This is the best book in the series! Cain is cold, hot, and sweet; as much as a phoenix can be! Praise to Cynthia for writing such fast paced steamy books!

As posted on The Smutty Kitty reviewed by KittyKelly 5 out of 5 Licks *happy happy happy reader sigh* I always seem to forget just how much I love paranormal romance. Most of my review requests lately have been for BDSM or contemporary which I also love but there is something about paranormal. The world and the uniqueness of the characters in it open up such possibilities. I’m a huge Harry Potter nerd so the fact that the hero is a Phoenix added a little extra something for me. If you don’t get that reference I feel sorry for you. Lol I enjoy nothing more than reading about a hard core man brought to his knees by a woman. Cain and Eve are so good together. They balance each other so perfectly. I wanted them to be together from the moment they met, but it certainly wasn’t easy for them. With Wyatt trying to do everything in his power to capture them they spent a lot of time running and fighting to be free. Burn With me is an action packed thriller that will have you racing for the finish. Once I started it I didn’t want to put it down. I finished it in less than one day. I can’t wait to read the next one in this series. And the one after that and hopefully more after that.

I'm not a huge paranormal romance fan but this book had some interesting moments and good chemistry between the two main characters. I may not purchase the next books in the series.

Action-packed steamy goodness! *Book source ~ A review copy was provided in exchange for an honest review. Eve Bradley is a reporter undercover trying to expose Dr. Richard Wyatt and his Project Genesis as the true evil that they are when she encounters Subject Thirteen, Cain O’Connor. The world knows about the paranormal creatures that inhabit their world, but the paranormals try to stay out of the limelight. Dr. Wyatt says that his subjects are volunteers and while that may be true for some of them, the majority are captives for his torturous experiments, experiments he conducts in an effort to create the perfect soldier, the perfect weapon, an unstoppable killing machine. And while he doesn’t know exactly what Cain is Wyatt thinks he’s found it in the man who doesn’t die. But Cain has no intention of sticking around much longer. His beast is growing stronger and now Eve is involved in trying to help him get out. However, Wyatt won’t want to lose his prize and with the might of the government backing him, Eve and Cain will have to run fast and far. Who will win in the end? Cynthia Eden is one of my favorite authors. When I pick up a book by her I’m 99.99% guaranteed I’m going to be entertained. In fact, I can pretty much guarantee that I’ll not want to put the book down. This book lives up to my expectations for an Eden book. This new series starts off flaming hot. Cain, oh, Cain. *fans self* What a hottie! Literally! Cain is a shifter I’ve not yet seen in a book and he’s very unusual. I loved his battle with his beast, learning the parameters of his existence and his fight to keep yet push away Eve. Eve is no pushover and I like a strong heroine. She has a mysterious past that is revealed slowly throughout the book and I have to say I love the end result. These two were meant to be together and the steamy scenes were beyond sizzling. There are a few characters introduced that I look forward to seeing though I wasn’t quite enamored with Ryder the vampire. I’ll reserve judgment on him until I read Once Bitten, Twice Burned coming out April 29th of this year.

I couldn't even finish the book. While the first chapter is intriguing, it goes rapidly downhill from there. I thoroughly disliked both main characters and got tired of the neanderthal squabbling that goes on between Cain and any male character. The main girl is boring and dumb (I just put down the book 5 minutes ago and already can't remember her name). Tried a few of the angel books by this author and they are...ok...but this one I didn't even make it halfway through.
