Butterfly Milk is a poem about a moment in time. A beautiful, awakening of the senses through observation of nature and a child's response.
...On a sunny summer afternoon as we walked in the park, a flutter of butterfly wings danced past us. They made a soft landing on a group of colorful flowers. My four year old grandson and I stopped to watch them sip nectar from the flowers. I explained that nectar was a special drink for the butterflies. In response he said, "oh, like milk." Time stood still! The sweetness of the moment triggered emotions and the poem was born.
