Buttons & Pain by Penelope Sky

*** Black Obsidian by Victoria Quinn is included at the end of this book ***

When I saw my escape, I took it. Now I'm in New York City and trying to get my life back on track. Despite the tracker in my ankle, Crow hasn't come for me. He hasn't even called me. I told him the depth of my feelings but he cruelly rejected them.

Maybe he's forgotten about me.

One day, I walk into my apartment and spot the pile of buttons on the counter. I never left them there, and there's only one explanation for their presence.

Maybe Crow hasn't forgotten me after all.

The first 2 books were fantastic. The third was flat. It droned on and then had an unrealistic anticlimactic end. It was also a tease seeing the book had 410 pages but that wasn't really the case. Buttons and pain ran approx 200 pages and there is a second book (the 1st in a series of 4) for another author as a ploy to buy into her series. Disappointing. I had better hopes from this author.

Although the author had shown light on very dark areas of the world I loved seeing her characters grow and change from their experiences, especially how pearl and crow were able to help each other through their darkest times in the midst of their blooming romance.

A lot of build up... kind of short lived and mediocre climax.

I was so looking forward to reading this book. Pre-ordered and waited. Finally, the book was available. I managed to read it quickly. As happy as I am with the ending I feel like this book rushed everything. I feel like the first two books transformed you to feel like you were there, with the attention to detail. This one did not. Everything happened so fast. Hell the whole story of the ex boyfriend wasn't even necessary, I don't think. It was over so quickly. I wish there had been more action (not talking about the sex scenes) but it seemed like everything dramatic was over in just a few sentences. This book could have benefitted from another 50-100 pages, just in additional details or prolonging the dramatic scenes. I did enjoy the series as a whole, but the last book left me a bit underwhelmed.

Amazing finale to the series!

Loved and could not put down the finale of this couple's red hot love story, there were occassional moments that dragged on a bit with some disappointing continous "vanilla" scenes, but honestly, after pearls/buttons tramatic book one start and cringe worthy scenes im completely and udderly in love with too much "vanilla"! Cant wait to move on and watch cane fall in love!

I love this series. I couldn't put my nook down. I truly felt like it definitely could have been a longer book.some events could have been more focused on but it only makes me want to read cane's side even more now.

Suspenseful

Very predictable ending, again I think there needs to be some place where the number of pages are posted. Like all the other books in this series there are less than 180 pages. in the last book you have another story which I have already read and purchased very unfair.

Hold me like you need me. Sometime's I wish I would forget. But how can I forget your touch? The gental touch of you. Your smile, so bright, your laugh, so charming, and your touch, unforgetable. Oh, why do I keep coming back to that one touch of yours? Why do I even love you still? If anyone knows it's you... <p> ~Trinity. That's my real name.

I guess im too old for this book did not enjoy the graphic and raunchy sex. Plus the premise of the book. Thought it would have a better plot and resolution. Very tacky and crude i need a little more romance.

Most of the books in this gandra have the sex as the common component, it's the storyline that makes them stand alone. Like another recent famous storyline, this ultimately about saving the opposite person. Loved it.

Received as an ARC, but I just had to go back first and read the other two so I could be engrossed in the entire story. I think the wait was worth it. I couldn't put it down, Penelope Sky you are a talented writer. Can't wait to read everything else you print. Recommend this series!!

Who wouldnt love a man like Crow Batsetti.! He's dark and mysterious sweet and sexy and cery loving. Just needed someone to love him and show him he's capable of so much more than being a bad guy.. I totally live this series of books!!

As much as I want to love this conclusion I can't. The events in this one could have been stretched out into two books. Many scenes felt way too rushed and the time jumps were unnecessary. I still feel like there are things missing. It feels empty and thrown together with missing details. However I was satisfied with the very end. All in all, this series isn't worth $7 a book.
