Overview

Rumor has it the water on Clan McPherson lands is magical....

Clan McPherson has known peace amongst their neighboring clans for more than one hundred years. That peace is threatened when Fiona McPherson is made chief after the death of her husband.
Known more for her fighting skills than her beauty, Fiona refuses the multiple proposals of marriage that begin to seemingly arise from nowhere. She may be the chief of her clan, but she's still a woman. It isn't Fiona they want, but her land and she's willing to fight to the death to keep it.

Rumor has it Caelen McDunnah has lost his mind...

Called McDunnah, the chief of Clan McDunnah, has no desire to remarry. He's perfectly content to still mourn the loss of his first wife and babe, even if it has been sixteen years. Until he meets the beautiful and feisty Fiona McPherson.
Known to start a fight out of sheer boredom or madness - no one is ever truly sure which - Caelen suddenly finds himself in the middle of battles he has no desire to fight, but fight them he will if it means he can have Fiona McPherson as his own.

There is always a wee bit of truth in every rumor.

Widowed from a loveless marriage, Fiona is now the chieftain of her clan. Regardless of her feelings for Caelen, leader of a neighboring clan, she ignores her inner feelings putting her clan above all else. I loved this book, Fiona was so feisty, you had to love and admire her! I intend to look into the other books in this trilogy. The only thing I would change is the title. It sort of gives the story its ending.

What a great beginning for an new series. Fast paced and action packed, with thrills and chills, plus passion. The chemistry flows between the H/H. I love this new series and can't wait for the next installment. Well written, with authenticity and originality. *Personal buy* Rating: 4.5 Heat rating: Hot Reviewed by: AprilR

Loved the book BUT....disappointed in the way it leads you into the next one. It is like 1 book divided into 3 different books of about 150 pages. Of course the 1st one is free with a cliffhanger and then you have to purchase the next 2 in the series. Won't fall for this set up again! Feeling a bit ripped off.

This is the first of three, and you will want all three to finish the story! But it is a great story, one of Susan's best. I couldn't wait for each one to come out!

It was hard to read because of the way the text tried to follow the language . It also left you hanging unless you continue the series. I also found the story dragging and repetive.

Loved the characters, the storyline ... However, hated having to look for next book to continue... It would have been a 5 star rating if it was a standalone version, then segmented. I would follow the author more than the characters for the author showed not only wit, this short story was very easy to follow & enjoyable read.

I liked the main female character. I liked the male character. But the story seemed to drag. And through it all nothing was resolved.
