Caged Sanctuary by Tempeste O'Riley

Kaden Thorn, a dental surgeon who lives a quiet life, has no hope of finding the love he craves. A vicious gay bashing cost him the use of his legs and confined him to a wheelchair. He has given up hope of finding a Dom or even a nonkink partner to love him. When his best friend practically forces him to attend a dinner party, the last thing he expects is a strong Dom who can see beyond his wheels.

Deacon James is an architect and a demanding Dom, but he has spent the past couple of years without a sub or partner. When an employee invites him to a dinner party to meet his girlfriend, Deacon smells a setup but agrees anyway. He prides himself on being an excellent judge of character, and when he meets the younger dentist, he sees past the chair and finds a sweet submissive man who more than piques his interest.

Kade's fears and demons continue to haunt him, challenging Deacon to use everything he's learned as a Dom to earn Kade’s trust and submission. Deacon's determined, though, willing to battle all of it to have Kade by his side and at his feet.

FourandHalfStars Kade is such a sweet character. It makes me so sad that his pain and injury defined him for so long. Katie is definitely a force in Kade's life that is both domineering and gentle. I loved her character so much. The relationship between Kade and Katie was one that really helped me get to know Kade on a personal level. Despite his relationship with Katie, he still is not comfortable sharing his submissive side with her, which I found both good and bad. I liked that he wanted to keep that part of himself, for himself, but I also thought that her character would have understood. Deacon was kind of an enigma. O'Riley did a fantastic job with the inner dialogue for Deacon. I really liked knowing how he was feeling about Kade's inability to trust, inability to see past his own handicap. Deacon's dominating nature was almost sweet - he was constantly worrying how Kade would feel. I also really liked that Sam and Jake became a part of their story. O'Riley did a great job at reintegrating Kade in to the BDSM scene that he had lost. Sam and Jake became more of Kade's family - which I felt he needed. The relationship between Deacon and Kade was so balanced - it was refreshing. I loved the ending - it was so great, but she made me wish I knew where they were going! I was given this in return for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads. AvidReader

m/m BDSM Caged Sanctuary moved me in unexpected ways. Dental surgeon, Kaden Thorn fell victim to a vicious gay bashing cost him the use of his legs. It has been 3 years and other than a horrible failed vanilla relationship Kaden doesn’t have much of a love life. Kaden is a service sub with masochistic tendencies. He longs to serve. When he meets Deacon James the chemistry is instant and combustible. But it is going to take some serious work on Deacon’s part to help Kaden overcome his self-esteem issues about being wheelchair bound while finding creative ways for them to be together. I usually don’t like whiney characters but Deacon kept me from hating Kaden. I also squick out on some masochistic practices but I think that the way Deacon used them to help Kaden made them more acceptable to me. Mostly this is a kinky sweet love story.

Told primarily from Kaden's point of view, CAGED SANCTUARY is a sensual romance with vividly written scenes that bring the BDSM elements of this story to life. More importantly, it paints a stunning image of rebirth as Deacon and Kaden's relationship begins to unfurl, like a rose as it opens its petals to the sun. Deceptively fragile in appearance, their connection turns out to be unexpectedly strong, but even the most beautiful roses still have thorns. As demons from their pasts emerge, they must both face their fears in-order to take a chance at finding love.  The detailed storytelling captured my attention, the characters quickly won my heart, and the depth of emotion brought tears of both sorrow and joy to my eyes. CAGED SANCTUARY is a story I would highly recommend to any reader who love well written and realistic BDSM themes interwoven with real-life romance. I couldn't put it down!!
