After reading so many duds lately, I was pleasantly surprised. Sometimes a great read is one that keeps you interested in the story long enough to read it, start to finish. This is not a literary masterpiece, I don't think I would offend the author by saying this. It was an enjoyable read, that I hope will continue to her other books.

I hate when I read great reviews about a book and then read it and find it to be lacking. This really was enjoyable to read and kept my interest all the way to the end. I highly recommend it.

The story was very entertainig but the beauty of the book is the depiction of the Acadian culture, The writer used the story to give us a view into the life of a group of people who endured unbelievable hardship but never lost their joy in life, As a Cajun from south Louisiana, thank you for sharing our history,
