A Texas Ranger, a lady blacksmith, a fierce passion, a dangerous game.

Caleb Graham has spent the last four years in too many dangerous situations to count. As a Texas Ranger, he knows no fear, or at least he never shows it. When he's sent to force a blacksmith off government seized property, he runs face to face into the woman who will change his life.

Aurora Foster grew up on the very land the obnoxious Ranger is trying to throw her off of. Her parents and her husband died for it and there is no chance she would leave without a fight. A lady blacksmith might be an anomaly but she has the strength of the steel she forges and the courage to fight for what she believes is right.

When Aurora is inadvertently injured by Caleb, he seeks medical help from a neighboring ranch. The sprawling hacienda is full of the finer things in life and the one person Caleb never expected to see again... his youngest brother Benjamin. Forced to flee from a man who has kept the boy captive, the trio become traveling companions in a deadly game where no one wins.

Life turns upside down and sideways for Caleb and Aurora, caught in a game neither of them expected while they desperately try to save the boy who was lost to his family. Pursued and hunted, the three of them ride for the Circle Eight ranch. The unlikely pair of rescuers fight their attraction and for their lives.

She is compassionate, funny, a bit reserved at times, tenacious and a little quirky. Her cowboys and western romances speak of a bygone era, bringing her readers to an age where men were honest, hard and packing heat. For a change of pace, she also dives into some smokin' hot contemporaries, bringing you heat, romance and snappy dialogue.

Life might be chaotic, as life usually is, but Beth always keeps a smile on her face, a song in her heart, and a cowboy on her mind.

I enjoyed this story and will be wanting to read about the rest of the siblings.  I loved Caleb a lot, and I understood his wanting to find his own identity.  I had a harder time with Rory, she was a foul mouth women, with more rough edges than I liked.  The storyline was very unique and had a twist that I am still scratching my head - LOVED IT!!   There is lovemaking - somewhat descriptive so if this bothers you, pass this up.  I personally love some spice in my Romance Novels, but I didn't feel a connection - no passion only lust.  There isn't a cliffhanger per say, our H/h due head towards HEA, but I wanted more.  I am ASSUMING, since this is a series, that we find out what the future holds for Rory and Caleb.I would recommend this, but know what you are getting.  1.  Awesome suspense and twists.  2.  Descriptive sex, but I didn't feel it was all that passionate, just a way to ease an itch!! 3.  Great secondary character's that you will have to see what their stories maybe.  (ljb)

Book was ok for a freebie...4 page long sex scenes got boring...and altho cussing doesnt bother me, i wasnt aware some of them were even used back in the day...they seemed kind of out of place in the book

I love a story where the heroine is NOT a damsel who needs to be saved. Rory's determination to depend on herself is aptly demonstrated. That she initiates lovemaking made it perfect. The tension due to the villian and the discovery of Benjy made it a great read. If you are looking for a story with strong women, love of family, and dangerous situations you have a chance here.

Not a bad little western, a bit of sizzle surprisingly, but in general I felt a bit detached from the characters. Could use a better proof reader

this book surprised me with its language premise. the heroine was foul mouthed and unfeminine. the hero was foul mouthed but alpha Male. the story line was interesting and held my interest. the females were too strong willed for me. there was danger and intrigue which I liked. there was some romance.

This was a very interesting good book to read. It showed the strength of a Texas Ranger, his kidnapped little brother, & the lady he tried to evict off Texas land. But she was stubborn & would not bugged off the land that she thought was hers since her family had died & left it to her! But when she fell from a tree & was hurt & needed help, they went to this Garcia’s home & there they found the Rangers kidnapped little brother. A real good book to read.

Really enjoyable read.

Starts out with a 2-part mystery, and ends with only one part being explained. Lots of repetitive phrasing and cursing to the point of annoyance. Could have been so much better.

The story was good. Would have rated the story a five, but it had a lot of typos and a few word choices were not the best when describing certain body parts. I would expect those words from more graphic novels

Unusual heroine and Texas ranger rescue abducted child. Their story is clear but the backstory of the abduction which fuels the novel is missing. This is part of a series and perhaps it is explained elsewhere but here it leave a troublesome hole in the plot line. Otherwise well eritten and engaging.
