Call of the American Dream is a compassionate, persuasive reveille for Americans to join in a new 'mission of great purpose without firing a single shot.' Through inspiration and a long process of growth and discovery, this great call to all Americans breaks the dawn of a new age of 'Americanism,' fulfilling a call of great national purpose. Diane Benge Lenning's rich family history as descendants of George Washington's father and 'King' David Benge, families of Revolutionary War soldiers, depicts the legacy, heritage, and 'heartbeat' of the settling of America to the present-day rallying call of Compassionate Conservatism. Call of the American Dream portrays what it means to all Americans today.

Diane Lenning has a BA/MA is History/Social Sciences from CPSU-SLO and CSULB. Over thirty years of teaching and volunteer experiences with people in outreach organizations and the CYA contribute to reasoned conclusions regarding societal trends and views. The American Dream portrayed through Diane's 'family saga' may be somewhat different than the idea other Americans may have, as well as many foreign nationals may envision. It may also differ from the general theme portrayed in texts, articles, and journals throughout the years. As a fifth generation Californian, Diane has seen first hand the sweeping changes in California in the last fifty years. Her historical objectivity show there are few similarities left today in California from those days of fifty to one-hundred years ago. Are the streets truly 'paved with gold' in California? Several political conclusions are reached regarding important issues of historical significance that may help bring about a healing in our nation, bringing Americans together in a national purpose. Included also is the statement of her American Dream and how everyone can participate in that dream.
