About the Author

L. Wayne Smalls is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. After serving 22 years on active duty, and over 25 years of total service in the United States Army; he retired at the rank of Major. Fayetteville, NC is where he currently resides with his wife and children. During his military career, Wayne traveled the world and had unimaginable experiences. Some of Wayne's military awards include a Bronze Star Medal for combat in Afghanistan, the Army Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal and many others.

Wayne is very passionate about education, and personal growth. He has earned an Associate's Degree in General Studies from Northwestern State University, a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland, and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Webster University. As a Doctoral Student at Capella University, Wayne is currently working towards a terminal degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Leadership.
