Tyler Oakes walked into the most disreputable bar he could find in Birmingham. It was a place called Kitty Licks, out near the airport. He just couldn't resist it. First time he'd seen the name he'd known he was going to have to go there someday. Today was the day. As the quarterback for the Birmingham Rebels, one of the NFL's newest franchises, he had to come back to town a week ahead of the rest of the team. They wanted him in on some of the brainstorming sessions before preseason training kicked in next week and the rest of the team showed up. So he was lonely, bored, and looking for trouble. His checkered past was proof he ought to resist the urge, but he'd never been good with that sort of thing. Better to go out and choose what kind of trouble he was going to get in than let trouble find him like it usually did.

He could have called around to see if anyone else was in town already. Or he could have gone to hang out with Cass Zielinski, the Rebel's center and team captain. He and his boyfriend Beau Perez, Rebel's tight end, had moved in with their girlfriend, Marian Treadwell, the Rebel's assistant offensive coach. The three had hit the news outlets with a great big bang. It seemed to be all anyone was talking about these days, and not in a good way. Two of the most notorious players in the NFL involved in a ménage à trois with a coach? Hell yeah, the press was eating it up. Ty felt kind of sorry for them. They were just trying to be happy, like everyone else. But when you were in the NFL you weren't allowed to do that sort of thing. Trust Cass to just say fuck 'em and do what he wanted. Or who he wanted.

Ty had a feeling this wasn't the only time the Rebels would make the news like that. After all, most of the players were here because nobody else wanted them. Sex, drugs, behavior issues, bad attitudes — the Rebels had it all on the roster. Ty was here because he had two strikes against him: he was openly bisexual and had been since college, and he'd been busted for drugs the year after he'd been drafted. Which was so stupid he was still kicking himself. He didn't even do drugs, unless you counted alcohol. Back in the day, that had been his vice, and the reason he'd been stupid enough to agree to 'hold' someone's stash for them. It had taken three years in the Canadian Football League, and a Grey Cup, to get him back in the NFL's good graces.

When he walked into the bar and looked around, his thoughts went back to Cass, Beau, and Marian. They would have welcomed him over and fed him and laughed with him. But when you already had three, four was definitely a crowd. Months ago, Ty had gotten up close and personal with Marian and the guys, but that had been a one-time deal and there was still a little awkwardness. Probably mostly on his part, since he was jealous as hell of what the three had together. But he was used to being used, he supposed. Ty always seemed to be an expendable commodity.

And damn, he needed to get laid. When he got the poor-me's he knew he needed some pussy or some dick, ASAP. Which was why he was here. It was Friday night and he figured a place named Kitty Licks had to have some clientele who were looking for the same thing. If not, well, Birmingham had lots of bars. But from the looks of it Ty was going to have to do some fast maneuvering just to get out of there without getting fucked up, and not in a good way. This might not have been his brightest idea. Note to Ty, he thought, do some research next time you go looking for trouble.

Several pairs of eyes were trained on him as he tried to nonchalantly sidle up to the bar. The place seemed to be divided down the middle. On the left were several tables full of Hispanic tough guys. Neck tats, slicked-back hair, and not so hidden bulges that were clearly guns in their pockets, because they did not look that happy to see him. The other side of the bar was redneck hell. Tom Kelly, a young running-back rookie and one of his best friends on the team, had told him that, in the South, a cracker meant a wannabe, those dudes who wore their ball caps sideways and their pants so damn low they had to hold them up over their ass. His knee-jerk reaction was to tell the whole right side of the bar to pull their pants up.

The bar itself didn't live up to the name. It was dank and dark, and stank of spilled beer, vomit, and sweat. The carpet looked like it had seen at least twenty years of bodily fluids. Thank God the lighting sucked and the disco ball spinning over the dance floor wasn't bright enough for him to see it better. Ty cracked his neck and grew a pair and walked up to the bar with a swagger he wasn't feeling. "Give me a beer. In a bottle. I don't care what kind, as long as it's cold," he told the bartender. The bartender's eyes shifted to the right as if looking for permission, and then he leaned down and pulled a Budweiser out of the cooler. He popped the top off and handed it to Ty.

"Thanks." Ty turned and surveyed the crowd.

After his initial entrance it looked like most of the people there had gone back to business. The dance floor was almost empty, just a few girls dancing, no guys. No surprise there. None of the male patrons looked like the dancing type. The music was some pop shit from the nineties. Even he didn't want to dance to that.

The girls weren't too promising, either. Redneck girlfriends for the rednecks. There were no Hispanic girls anywhere. He surmised the bar belonged to the crackers, then. As he stood there sipping his beer — which was at least cold — he got even more depressed. Somehow this shit bar was a metaphor for his life. Yet another bad choice. Had the Rebels been a bad choice? He hadn't thought so at the time. He'd been here for two years. The team still sucked. He wasn't happy with his performance at all. And he'd become a monk. Seriously. There was a time he could get laid seven days a week by seven different people, men and women alike. But that just wasn't his thing anymore. He was getting old. Shit. That was it. He couldn't fuck and he couldn't play football because he was old. Twenty-nine in the NFL was old.

Suddenly one of the redneck girls peeled herself away from a guy in a back booth and stood up. She had to shimmy a little to get her tight, little short skirt down enough to cover her ass. Ty nearly choked on his beer. How had he missed her? She wasn't tall, just average height, but she had killer curves packed into a little corset top and that wicked skirt. Her legs were as curvy as the rest of her and ended in dangerously high heels. She walked across the dance floor, through the middle of the bar, exchanging some sharp words with one of the girls shaking her ass out there. The conversation ended with the curvy one flashing the finger at the other girl as she kept on walking. Straight at Ty.

As she got closer, Ty could see she wasn't classically pretty, at least not the way most people thought of it. But there was something about her that caught his eye. She looked to be mixed race, with light-caramel skin, freckles all over her face, and generous, kissable lips. She had wildly curling, shoulder-length hair. Little, copper, spiral curls framed her face perfectly. For some reason, that hair sealed the deal. Ty had to have her.

"Give me a Wallbanger, Harvey," she told the bartender. She cracked up laughing as the bartender slammed a Bud down in front of her. She winked at Ty. "That joke never gets old," she said.

"My name isn't Harvey," the bartender told her.

"I know," she said. "But 'Give me a Wallbanger, Mike,' just doesn't sound the same." She turned to Ty. "Right?"

"No ma'am," he said with a grin. "Just not as funny."

She tilted her head to the side and looked him up and down with a slight frown between her eyebrows as she took a sip of beer. She had soft-brown eyes, like melted chocolate. "Okay," she said after she lowered the bottle. "I give. What the hell are you doing here? You looking for some smoke?"

"No," Ty said. "I was looking to get laid."

She laughed out loud again. It was a big, boisterous laugh, the kind confident girls made; the ones who knew who they were and didn't give a fuck what you thought. The kind of girl he liked, but didn't meet very often. Those curves, that laugh, her sexy Southern accent. All he could think was, Damn. "Another time, another place," she said. "Let me give you some advice. Go. This is not the place for you. Don't even finish that beer."

"I can't," Ty said, taking another sip.

She looked at her bottle, identical to Ty's. "I know the beer isn't that good," she said. "So why not?"

"I can't leave without you," he told her.

"I am not the lay you're looking for," she said, as if she were Obi-Wan Kenobi. She pointed with her bottle at the booth in the back. "See that guy there? Tonight I'm his. And he doesn't take kindly to guys hitting on me."

"Then why'd you come over here?" Ty asked. He wondered what she meant by "Tonight I'm his." Was she a hooker? She didn't act like one.

"To save your sorry ass," she said smartly. "I'm starting to think I'm wasting my time."

"Now," one of the Hispanic guys said, standing up and looking at his watch. Suddenly half the bar got up and moved toward the back. His drinking companion put her beer down on the bar. Ty noticed it looked like she hadn't had any even though he'd watched her sipping it.

"Got to go, honey," she said to him with a wink. "When we go out the back, you go out the front."

"Why?" Ty asked. He was confused as hell by this girl. She didn't seem at all what she ought to be.

"Because I said so," she told him, suddenly serious. "I really am trying to save your ass, okay?"

"Sissy," the guy in the back called out. He was average height, white, wannabe clothes. Kind of reminded Ty of Vanilla Ice back in the day. He was waving the girl over. "Git your ass over here. And bring your new boyfriend."

"Shit," she said under her breath. She glared at Ty. "You're in it, now, boy," she said. "You stick close to me and follow my lead, you hear me?"

"Yes, ma'am," he said. His stomach had kind of bottomed out when he'd been singled out by her date for the night, and her crazy intense attitude wasn't helping. When it came down to it, Ty was a lover, not a fighter. But he might bust his knuckles up over her if he had to. Which surprised the hell out of him. He hadn't given two shits about a woman in ages.

"Comin', honey," she called out. She grabbed Ty's arm and dragged him after her. "I am not gonna let you ruin two long months of work," she muttered under her breath. Ty didn't think she knew he could hear her. He had to have good hearing when he did his job in stadiums full of fifty thousand screaming fans.

They mingled with the crowd and Ty got some curious stares, as well as some scary blank ones. In about two seconds he was flanked by a couple of crackers with those blank stares. He'd watched enough bad TV and movies to recognize gang muscle when he saw it. They ended up out back in the parking lot, the two groups still separated, by mutual agreement, it seemed. Sissy had maneuvered them up to the front, next to her boyfriend. She let go of Ty and latched on to the cracker's arm just as a big box truck pulled into the lot.

"What ya got for me, baby?" she said in a sexy little voice.

"Not for you, bitch," he replied absently. "This is all for me." He turned and gave her a cold smile. "Then Daddy'll give you what you're asking for."

Well, Ty did not like the sound of that. He was about to say something when she glanced at him out of the corner of her eye and stomped on his foot. Her look clearly said "Shut up." He frowned at her but kept his mouth shut.

The truck stopped and two guys jumped out of the cab. They looked like clones of the Hispanic dudes from the bar. Sissy and her boyfriend walked toward the truck, along with the muscle that had been flanking Ty, and several of the Hispanic bar patrons. Ty had an itch between his shoulder blades that usually indicated he was about to get sacked. That didn't bode well.

The back doors of the truck opened and one of the cracker muscleheads jumped inside. There were some low murmurs around him, and Ty was pretty sure he heard the word heroin. Holy fucking shit. He'd walked into a drug deal. That officially made his visit to Kitty Licks one of the worst decisions of his life. The urge to grab Sissy and run for it was almost too much to resist.

Before long, the guy in the truck came to the open door and crouched down to talk to Sissy's boyfriend. As soon as he did, Sissy let go of the guy's arm and backed off. No one else seemed to notice as one of the Hispanic guys came over to talk to the guy she was with. Suddenly a big duffel bag appeared out of nowhere and was passed from the cracker to the Hispanic dude.

Ty was torn. He didn't want to leave the girl he'd met in the middle of this shit. But there was no way he could get caught here. He was barely clinging to the edge of the NFL with his fingernails as it was. Fuck, fuck, fuck, he thought, looking around. He could see his car from where he was, parked in the glow of one of the only working parking-lot lights, first row. He inched his way closer, keeping his eyes on Sissy, who was walking a little too casually back toward the crowd.

"Party on, now," one of the guys behind him said. "Tater always throws a kick-ass party after a good deal."

"I'm a gonna have me that girl of his," another one said. "Shit, if she ain't the hottest thing he's fucked in ages."

"I think he's giving her to the SUR," the first guy said, as if it was no big deal to give a living, breathing human being as a gift to some gangbanger.

"Well, I don't want none of that shit after," the second said with disgust. Ty nearly turned around and punched him.

Just then her eyes found Ty in the crowd. With a subtle move of her head she indicated the parking lot. Ty slid through the crowd as she veered, walking toward the cars. As if on cue, sirens cut through the night and there were suddenly cop cars spilling into the parking lot behind the box truck.

"This is the police. Drop your weapons," a disembodied voice blared over a loudspeaker.

Pandemonium broke out as everyone began running for cars or the surrounding dark. Ty joined the melee, running for his car with a sinking feeling. There was no way he was going to get out of this clean. He yanked out his remote and unlocked the car. Just as he was pulling open the driver-side door, Sissy came running up, out of breath. "Give me the keys," she demanded.

"Like hell," Ty shouted. "Get in."

"I'm a cop, genius," she barked at him. "Give me the fucking keys. Two months of undercover work is about to escape in that fucking red Mustang over there, and there is no way in hell I'm going to let you get in the way. So move it, or I shoot it."

Ty looked over and saw the guy she'd been with jump into a Mustang that barely slowed as it passed him. The car was headed out the opposite side of the parking lot from all the cops. "Why isn't anyone else chasing him?" he asked incredulously.

"Because nobody listens to me," she said in disgust. She ripped the keys out of his hand and climbed into his car. She took the time to pull off her heels and toss them out into the parking lot. Ty took advantage of her distraction to throw himself over the hood of his black Porsche and climb into the passenger seat. "Get the fuck out," she yelled at him.

"No," he said, trying to sound calm, even though his heart was about to pound out of his chest. "My car. And you need backup."

At that she barked out a laugh and threw the car into gear. "And that's you?" she asked, peeling out of the parking space after her quarry.

"Yes, ma'am," he shouted over the squeal of tires. "Usually I call the play, but tonight I'm going to follow your lead."

Holy Hotness! The whole series!

Tyler Oakes is the quarterback for the Birmingham Rebels, the NFL's last chance football team. He is attempting to resurrect his career. Something that is difficult given his reputation as an openly bi-sexual football player. He meets Randi McInish during an undercover drug bust when he is in the wrong place at what turns out to be the right time. Randi is just looking for a one-night stand and thinks she found it in Tyler. Brian Mason is a new coach for the Rebels. Tyler and Brian have known each other since college. Brian took control on and off the field once he was introduced to Tyler. Brian had run from a relationship with Tyler back then, but now he isn't afraid of his feelings. When Tyler introduces Brian and Randi, can they find the one woman they want to share. Samantha Kane is one author that I will drop everything else and read immediately. I have had this ARC sitting on the shelf for a while and I have re-read it twice. I love the characters and the dynamics between them. Randi has a troubled past and has been using sex as an escape. Once she meets Tyler, everything bad in her past seems to evaporate. I just love this series and can't wait for the next book.

I enjoyed this very sensual, playful 3-way romance.

4.5 Star I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, love, secrets, and heartbreak. If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Broken Play (Birmingham Rebels #1) This is Randi, Tyler and Brian’s story. Tyler and Brian knew each other years ago but Brian forced himself to let Ty go. He has regretted it ever since. Tyler and Randi meet when Tyler stops at a bar to have a drink and is pulled into a drug bust. When he goes home with Randi it’s just supposed to be one night. But one night turns into more. Now Brian is back in his life and Tyler is struggling with his feelings for Randi and Brian. Can these three come to an understanding or do they all think they need to step back and let the other ones be together? Can they decide they would all be better together and work everything out or will one of them run from the other two before they can figure it out? I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I recommend this story.

Quarterback Tyler Oakes is used to being in charge on and off the field. Although his calls on the field may make him a football god, off the field his decisions get him into a whole lot of trouble walks Brian Mason and Randi McInish. Randi McInish is an undercover cop who happens to work for her big brother. After a undercover sting goes wrong she is happy that Tyler Oakes questionable decisions may have saved her life. Although being with him was never the plan she cant help but accept the attraction walks Brian Mason, shaking up not only the bedroom but her life! Brian Mason and Tyler have known each other since college. What started out as fun turn into something that neither of them could control. Afraid to be in the way of Tyler's career Brian steps into the background, without any explanation to Tyler, gets married to his college girlfriend and lives unhappily ever after until the ink is dried on the divorce papers. Now that Brian is back in town he wants to explain everything to Tyler but sees that Tyler may have found happiness with Randi. After much discussion Brian and Tyler come up with a plan...the real question is will Randi be on board or will she throw a flag on the play? Read and find out! I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for my honest review This book was not what I expected. I thought it would be only about the bedroom but it was about sooo much more. The relationships and friendships discussed will make you laugh cry and definitely want to go find the past books or patiently wait for the next book to get more asap. This is a full book with no cliffhanger, that can be read out of order, with a sizzling hot cover, selling for 2.99. If you want a book filled with drama, suspense, hot romance and soooo much more.... than this is the book for you. Great Job Samantha Kane, I recommend this book and this on I go to hunt down the first book because I have to know what happened with the first couple and all the wild nights they hint at in book 2!

If you want a story that just might light your e-reader on fire this is it. Football has never been so sexy. This second installment in the Birmingham Rebel series is erotically sexy and entertaining. But this story also has deep emotions, feelings and a lot of vulnerability. Great secondary characters. Tyler Oakes is bored and looking for trouble when he wanders in to the disreputable bar " Kitty Licks" all he wants is to get lucky. When he gets a look at Randi McInish he knows he has found what he is looking for, but before he knows it, he is in the middle of a undercover drug bust. Tyler is openly bi-sexual and the quarterback of the Birmingham Rebels, It had taken him three years in the Canadian Football league and winning the Grey cup to get him back in the NHL's good graces. Being in the middle of a drug bust is not where he wants to be again. Randy McInish is a feisty gorgeous woman, that turns out to be an undercover police woman, who is trying to help her brother bring down a drug dealer when she sets her eyes on Tyler. When the bust doesn't go as expected Randi takes off in Tyler's car to chase the criminals, taking Tyler with her. After a adrenaline pumping car chase where Tyler's car become bullet riddled and Randi is shot, these two finally get a chance to know one another better. These two have quite the sizzling chemistry, and with neither of them having anywhere to go for a few days they take their time getting to know everything about each other sexually. But when Tyler's old quarterback coach shows up at a pool party that they throw. Tyler is not the only one interested in Brian Mason. These characters are flawed, sexy and real and You will love them. What will happen between these three? Who will get the girl? You will need to read this to find out. This story has a lot of strong language, as well as a lot of Hot sex. Ms. Kane's talent as well as her imagination will keep you coming back for more in this series. Highly recommended. Received a copy through NetGalley, Random House and Samantha Kane in exchange for an honest review.

This is the 2nd book in the Birmingham Rebels series. It is just as hot and erotic as the first one. The members of the Birmingham Rebels are all sort of misfits of the NFL. Tyler is no exception. But he has worked hard to try to turn himself around and stay out of trouble. But he is lonely. One night he decides to stop at the Kitty Licks bar. After all with a name like that who wouldn’t get lucky? But the type of luck he had in mind was not what he found. When he sees Randi, he thinks she is out for a good time as well. But Randi tells him this is not a place for him and that he should leave. However he didn’t leave soon enough. He found himself right in the middle of an undercover drug bust. After Randi takes Tyler’s car, with him in it mind you, he finds out she is an undercover cop. Randi is a say it like it is, love em’ and leave em’ kind of gal. All she is really interested in is hookups. Tyler is a fan of this idea and is willing to help the lady out. As Randi and Tyler are leaving the police station, they run into Brian. While Brian may be a new member of the Rebels coaching staff, he is not new to Tyler. They have a past. They used to have random threesomes. But when Tyler told Brian he had feelings for him, Brian left. This hurt Tyler deeply. He doesn’t know if he can let him back in. After their encounter at the police station, Tyler and Randi hook up for what they thought would be a one night stand. However they have a connection and it becomes more between them. However Randi feels the bond between Tyler and Brian and does not want to get in their way so she steps out of the picture. She sees something between the two of them. She is giving them a chance to figure out what they want. However Tyler and Brian feel there is one person missing out of this relationship and that is Randi. Over time, a strong relationship between the three of them develops. While this book does contain a lot of descriptive sex scenes and language, it was well written. Storyline flowed easily. The characters were likeable and had some depth to them. This is only the second book I have read by this author but I look forward to others.

*ARC received from Random House Publishing in return for an honest review* Great story from Samantha Kane, as usual. This is the second book of the Birmingham Rebels series. The book blurb adequately explains the gist of the story so I will just say Ty, Brian, and Randi are one hot threesome in this story which includes some very steamy sex scenes. I liked this romance a lot and can't wait for the next book in the series.

Overall I enjoyed reading Calling the Play, but I won't say that I was blown away by it either. Am I the only one that thinks this one just ended really abruptly? I just felt like it ended with no real rhyme or reason giving this book a less than stellar finish. That kind of irritated me, because I thought there was more to the story than that. Now the sex scenes, whew did those pack that awesome Samantha Kane punch as always. But on the other hand, we were also teased with a few scenes that were never followed through as well. Not nice to tease, Samantha. *tisk tisk* Anyhoo, that was kind of a let down, but the biggest one was the the weak plot and the lack of emotional connection I felt between the characters. Maybe it's just me. *shrug* I really want to love this series, trust me I do. It has all the right components that I love, but it just isn't working for me the same way Kane's books have in the past. Her Brother's in Arms series is fantastic! Now I think the potential is there though, so I'm definitely not going to be giving up. Like I said, I enjoyed this book but I didn't love it. If you love menage, then you are going to enjoy it too because it is worth reading just for those sex scenes alone. *winks* Now I wonder who is next of the Rebels. Danny and Tim perhaps? Guess I will wait and see!

Tyler Oakes is the newly recruited Quarterback for the Birmingham Rebels. He’s an equal opportunity lover with a history of partying hearty. His partying left him holding the bag for a friend in the wrong place at the wrong time… a choice he’s paid for in his career big time. Now he finally has the opportunity to turn things around and get back into the NFL. What he wasn’t counting on was running into Brian, his intern coach from college… also the one that didn’t just walk, but ran away. A quick stop at a bar that’s name shouts “hookup haven” has Ty meeting a very sexy Sissy and very quickly finding himself in the middle of an undercover drug bust. When “Sissy” decides to commandeer his Porsche for a high-speed chase, Ty decides to go along for the ride. After all, he has every intention of taking the undercover cop, Randi McInish for a ride when they’re done with this business. What he didn’t expect was just how long or rough a ride it would be. Nor did he realize that Randi would be the perfect creme filling in a Ty and Brian sandwich. Randi McInish is a cop assigned to burglary. When it’s discovered that she was recently hit on by a person of interest she’s temporarily assigned to an undercover op for vice with her brother as her superior. Life is hard enough working as a female detective in a male-centric field, but working for the older brother who raised her seriously adds to the challenge. With four older brothers and a cop for a father, she has learned to put away her girly side. When the grandmother who raised her, then her father passed, her mother left for greener pastures. Her older brothers took over. Family life for Randi was anything but normal. Randi and her youngest brother were illegitimate. Her three oldest brothers were her father’s legitimate sons. That being said her father made sure they all had a relationship with each other. A very abnormal childhood has Randi putting up roadblocks when it comes to relationships. For the first time though she’s ready to consider more than a one or two night stand when it comes to Ty… that is until she see’s the very real undercurrents of love between Ty and Brian. She shares one hot evening of loving between the two of them and then she’s doing the typical Randi and running from any potential relationship that might be there. When Brian was contacted by the Birmingham Rebels with a coaching opportunity he jumped at the chance. Eight years have been long enough to come to the conclusion he ran from a potential relationship he’s missed every day since. Twenty-twenty hindsight might not be enough, though. With Randi running as fast as she can from any potential relationship they might have things aren’t exactly falling into place with him and Ty. Reality is, Randi is the glue that holds them together. But when the coach realizes just what’s at stake and what it will take to put it all together he does just what he’s good at… he instructs, he trains, he guides… in other words, he manipulates the players into position and goes for the win. A win-win for all of them. Ms. Kane has a winning series with the Birmingham Rebels. Once again she has picked out a lineup of stellar men that have their issues and the women that are the perfect glue to piece them all together in a cohesive unit. The Rebels are a team of rejects sorely needing a second chance. Ms. Kane gives them the perfect “family” to find their redemption.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book! HOLY SMOKES this was one hot book! I love Samantha Kane's books!! This is the second book in the Birmingham Rebels series! I loved Broken Play (the first book), so I was excited to start this one! It was just as good, if not better than book 1! I didn't want to put it down!! Tyler plays hard in everything he does in life! He gets busted for drugs and that's how he meets Randi. Then there's Brian thrown in the mix! I was surprised at the M/M/F relationship and the language in this book! haha LOVE IT!! This was a great read!!

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. Hot and sexy!!! Tyler Oakes is out to have a good time and ends up in a police car chase instead. Randi McInish is undercover to bust a drug dealer, but ends up with more than she thought.

Contrary to the rating I gave it (its more like a 3.5), I did enjoy this book! Who can resist a team of "bad boy" football players? I loved how Tyler and Randi met. And that regardless of what Randi said and did, Tyler did not scare easily. And then you add Brian into the mix. Luckily, everything ended the way it should and both guys got their girl and each other. I am curious to read the next book in this series to see if some of the elements in this book that were not completely believable/realistic flow better or are more believable to the reader.

I received a ARC of this book for my opinion. So let's start with Ty. I loved him from the start. What's not to love about him. I loved finding out his back history. Randi is a badass cop. But don't let that fool you. She has demons herself. Randi is undercover and this is how she meets Ty. They hit it off right away. But could all this be a front bc Randi is trying to wipe away memories of what just happens? But get ready. There is another man who has just popped into the picture. Brian is hot and demanding. Will she pick one or both. A must read. A great series. Can't wait for the next one.

Perfect follow up to Calling the Play, which I adored. This book is HOTTTTT maybe even more so than Calling the Play. I felt like I needed to call a time out after finishing this one.

HOT SEX ALERT! Must be okay with Male/Male and Menage! Tyler Oakes heads into a bar in Birmingham, AL called Kitty Licks sure he'll be getting laid that night. As soon as he steps foot in the door, he realizes he's in over his head in what looks like gang territory. As the quarterback to the NFL Birmingham Rebels, he is in town early for some brainstorming sessions prior to the other guys showing up next week for preseason training. Instead of the fun he was looking for, he has stumbled into the middle of under-cover cop Randi McInish's drug bust about to go down. Randi commandeers his Porsche to chase after the bad guys, getting it shot up, impounded and with a bullet grazing her arm, but that doesn't stop her from taking Ty home with her for a hot night of sex! Awkwardness almost derails their fun as they leave the police station and run into Brian Mason. Brian is there checking on him for the Rebels and informs Ty that he's his new coach. Randi doesn't know who he is, but there's obviously some underlying tension between them. Years earlier, they had fun together with various women, but Brian ducked and ran when Ty tried to get too serious. Now he's back because he can't forget the one he let get away. Will Ty decide to forgive him and trust him again? And when they decide they want to enjoy Randi together, will she be game? ** Received free in exchange for an honest review **

This is one HOT and DIRTY book; I loved it!! Warning – this book contains lots of f-bombs and other strong language as well as hot, sexy m/m and m/m/f encounters. If any of this offends you don’t read this book and then leave a negative review. OK, the above warning was for people who may not have read any of Samantha Kane’s books before and also because I hate it when readers pick up a book and then leave a negative review because it contains things they find objectionable. Personally, I love ALL of Samantha Kane’s books. I’m most familiar with her Brothers in Arms series set in the Regency period but I’m so glad that she’s started this new contemporary series; I might even learn to like football as a result. lol Tyler Oakes (Ty) identifies himself as bi-sexual but he hasn’t been with anyone in a long time. He goes looking for some action at the Kitty Licks bar and gets more than he bargained for when he walks into the middle of a drug bust. Captivated by the smart-alecky, dirty talking, undercover cop, Randi McInish, he wants to see more of her. Randi doesn’t do relationships and when Brian, a man from Ty’s past, shows up she decides she needs to bow out and let those two figure things out. What Randi doesn’t realize is that Brian and Ty don’t feel complete without her. While this book is the second in the Birmingham Rebels series it can be enjoyed without reading the first book (but it’s great, too, so you should read it). This story probably has the coarsest language, or maybe just a bit more of it, than Ms. Kane’s other books but it totally fits the characters in the story. I love the way she connects the first book to this one and yet also tells a story that completely stands alone; I doubt that this is an easy thing to do. There is a whole football team of interesting characters and I hope a book is written for each one of them! ARC provided by NetGalley for an honest review.

If you like down and dirty sex, threesomes, m/m, m/f/m, and m/f this book is for you. Be prepared for a cold shower. Ty heads to a strip club and meets Randi, who is undercover, they end up in a car chase with drug dealers. They spend the weekend together. Then Brian shows up. He knew Ty ten years ago and was his coach. They had threesomes but he left because Ty said loved him. Now they want Randi but she is not a relationship girl. Something about them she can’t resist. She has issues but the guys aren’t going to let her go. *RECEIVED A COPY FROM NETGALLEY*

Quarterback Tyler Oakes' game is off and so Brian Mason has been brought in to coach him. They worked together in college and had a relationship that ended. Now 8 years later Brian is back and wants Ty back. The book begins with Tyler going into a bar and Randy McInish is undercover and tries to get him to leave. Things quickly get out of hand and a car chase and gun shots and bullet holes to his car and we have the start of a rousing story. This would be a great story any way it was put together with any pairing but when you put the three of them together it is H-O-T. I am really looking forward to more in this series! **Received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review**

This is the 2nd book in the Birmingham Rebels series. As always, I recommend to the reader that you read the books in the order intended. That being said, this is a book that can be read as a standalone if you choose. Tyler Oakes and Brian Mason makes beautiful football together. They did back in college and Tyler played one mean game. Now, Brian is back and a part of the Rebels coach staff. Can they ignore what is so strong between them? To make is more complex, there is the incredible Randi McInish. Tough cop, tough sister, hot woman, and all around sexy gal who likes them both. Together or apart. Randi wants to stand on her own two feet, however, and guys that want to "take care of her" are usually thrown out. All three of them together make beautiful music. In order to save Ty's career and the oddball relationships he has started, Ty is trying to decide whether to keep or let them both go. Ty always feel like he is 2nd best, and he is waiting for his chance at real love. This book was a surprise for me. I never expected to feel so torn about which way I wanted the characters I was reading to go! I was pleasantly spooked toward the end there and very happy with how the HEA was resolved. ***This ARC was given by and its publisher for an honest review.

Oh Lordy, but it does get hot in Birmingham! After reading Broken Play, I was so excited to read this next book in the series... and I was soooo not disappointed! I loved Ty’s character from the first book, so I was extremely interested to see his character expanded upon in this book. This author truly does have a gift with characterization. The characters of Ty, Brian, and Randi were really quite well developed and I became invested in their story line very easily and very quickly. The evolution of their relationship was truly a joy to read. I also loved catching up with some of the other characters from the first book such as Cass, Beau, Marian, Danny, and Tom. I would love to see more from Tom and Danny in the future. They are hilarious together! I also love the general camaraderie the players have developed. It’s beyond entertaining! Overall, I found the book to be compelling, sensual, intriguing, engaging, absorbing, amusing, and, of course, HOT! I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweetly entertaining and very sexy read. * I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

RATING 4.5 STARS Calling the Play is book two in the Birmingham Rebels series by Samantha Kane. This book was generously provided to me in exchange for an honest review by NetGalley, Random House and by Samantha Kane. If you are interested in this book, you obviously are expecting to get plenty of sexy times, plenty of just plain hotness! And you won’t be disappointed! But…I found the three main characters in this book, Ty, Randi and Brian, all easy to love, easy to relate to and just plain fun to read about. The characters are flawed, sexy, real and I loved them all. Tyler Oakes is a football quarterback. He has made some not so great decisions in his life, had some scrapes with the law, and has a reputation for being wild. This is his last chance. He is now playing for the Birmingham Rebels. Ty has tried to turn things around and be a better example for his team. But on the night he met Randi, he was feeling lonely. He just wanted to pick up someone for a one night stand. So he went into a cheap dive bar and walked right into an undercover sting operation. “Most of the players were here because nobody else wanted them. Sex, drugs, behavior issues, bad attitudes - the Rebels had it all on the roster.” Randi McInish has never worked undercover before but she was asked to help out with this operation. Things are just about to go down when about the hottest guy she has ever seen comes into the bar and tries to hit on her thinking she was just someone out for a good time. Instead, he found himself right in the middle of everything. One high speed car chase later and she knew he would be hers that night. But Randi doesn’t do relationships. She leaves before someone else can do it first. She is one tough cop and has a potty mouth that will curl your toes. I actually don’t usually like female characters that are like this, all rough and tough. But it was obvious from the start that this was only what Randi showed on the outside. That inside, she was secretly a girly girl, soft and wanting things that any woman would, to be cared for and safe. But she has convinced herself that this will never be an option for her. Brian Mason first met Ty back in college. Brian was an intern coach and worked with Ty and was responsible for Ty’s success. They began to experiment with sex with the both of them and a woman with various partners. But when Ty expressed his feelings for Brian, he ran, and hurt Ty badly. Now, eight years later, the Birmingham Rebels has recruited him to again work with Ty. Brian has always regretted what he did to Ty. He thought he did what was best for him at the time. What will Ty’s reaction be to having him back in his life again? As soon as Brian saw Randi with Ty, he knew they were perfect for each other. Could there ever be a place for Brian in their lives? Of the three, Brian is the one with the cool head. The rational one of the group. He is a take charge type of guy and when he speaks, others listen. These are three people, all with abandonment issues, all commitment shy. You can’t help but to care about them and want them all to get their HEA’s. Ty is tired of other people deciding what is best for him. He knows what he wants. “Ty could fight it all he wanted, but when he stepped up and followed Brian’s lead it was smooth and effortless, as if they’d written the playbook and knew each other’s moves before they made them.”
