When unwitting victim, Nathaniel Strider, wanders into one of their full moon pursuits, Camille and Dr. Bennett believe they have found a specimen for their study. Finding a scientific key to unlocking the mystery of lycanthropy would end their late night excursions. Yet beneath the irresistible exterior, Nathaniel is transforming into a flesh-tearing monster, and as each experiment fails, Camille loses another inch of her soul to him. In a month's time, she must face the prospect of destroying the boy who has stolen her heart.

I first bought this, not gonna lie, because it was 99 cents. Seemed like a good buy, maybe, and if not, I wouldn't be out too much money. I've never been one for supernatural werewolf stuff. But when I read this... OHMYGOD! Amazing book. Beautiful imagery. Wonderful storyline. Loveable characters. Worth reading. Most definitely.

When I first picked this book up I thought "oh great another werewolf book" but to my immense relief, the werewolves in this book are the man-eating beast/monster/things from Dracula's time period and all that, so I was really excited. The book was incredibly good and well written, however quite a few sentences could have been combined to make it flow better, but it still works well, and heck, I was so caught up in the book I barely noticed. I loved all the mystery and suspense that built up, and just the occasional fun moment that you just find funny. When it got to the end, however, it seemed to move too fast, which I didn't really like, but all well. And before I forget: When I downloaded this it said it had 855 pages on my nook, but really it skips every 3 pages, but without losing content. So if this happens on your nook, don't panic, you still have the whole book, so no need to cuss anybody out. This is by far one of my favorite books, and is one of the BESTEST deals I've ever made.

It is very rare when i find a book where the characters have so much real chemistry. I felt an emotional attachment to them throught the whole story and the story took so many unexpected turns, i could not stop reading.Camille is not portrayed as an unintelligent love struck girl as is the case with most young adult books and Strider was a man after my own heart.

For the price, I wasn't expecting such a great read, but I always seem to be surprised with these .99 books! Firstly, not to knock the other reviewer, but I had to address the ignorant comment about the author being "young". From her Amazon profile, she's married with kids, so I'm going to guess that your unfortunate lack of knowledge about the author lead you to write such a assuming comment. Age has nothing to do with how well a person writes. Trust me, as an avid reader, I have read countless books, with authors ranging in ages, and neither age is more prone to writing inadequately. Moving on to the actual book...I had eyed this book for quite some time before finally I decided to give it a try. It's only .99 cents, so I figured why not? I'm very glad I did! It's not at all what I was expecting, and I found myself unable to put my Nook down once I started reading! The characters were well developed, and I loved watching Camille and Nathaniel "Strider" grow and change throughout the book. The ending sort of left hope that perhaps there might be a Camille #2, but even if not so, the ending was nice enough to leave it at that. Overall, I recommend this. A nice light, yet captivating read!

This book was kind of like "Twilight" series but in another time. It was romantic and clean. Refreshing read.

Holy crap! I'm hooked. I bought this book about 5 hours ago and I could NOT put it down!! It's truly amazing. I read 2 complete books by Oliver today! She is a magical story teller and anybody wondering whether or not to purchase this book, DO IT. You will not regret it. Don't let the prospect of it being "another book about werewolves" keep you away. She returned to the original consept; not the cute and cuddly twilight ones. For real. Read it.

I first bought this because I love Victorian London and cheap books, this was 99 cents and I was hesitant because it was about werewolves and I was afraid it'd just be a werewolf version of Twilight, but thank God it wasn't! Couldn't put this book down! I read it all in like 2 days and that was only because of work. I highly recommend this book and the sequel didn't disappoint either.

I read through the reviews before reading this book and doubting very much that it could live up to all the hype, but i was wrong. It was a easy and fun read and i would definately recommend it to someone who enjoys a good romance novel.

Very Good! I like that it tells the point of view of the wolf during his transformation

This book deserves to be much more than .99¿! It's not that sucky, clich¿ werewolf/vampire/magic teen book everyone seems to love. It's an authentic, scary, and actually believable werewolf novel. I could read this book over and ovet again, it's that good. Definitely one of my favorites, and must-read!

Wow! I had never really considered werewolves....the how & why of them & I thought for sure it would borenme to sleep! How about I couldnt put it down! Tragic love stories get to me & as I drank this book like a dehydrated person crawling from a desert you knew there was no hope yet, I kept reading! Tess Oliver is a superb weaver of intrigue & adventure! A definite read for anyone who loves paranormal stories!

I was so captivated in Camille's life as a werewolf huntress! Loved the detail and imagery in the book. I fell in love with the characters and how they come to grow together and learn from each other and find love in the least likely of places.

Another major score by Tess Oliver. About 850 pages. Well planed and very suspensful. Good character building for many more. Wasnt the typical werewolf novel Oliver has yet go disapppoint. Yet again lots of gramatical errors otherwise well writen. Love story between a werewolf and werewolf hunter in eighteenth centry London several unexpected twists. Nothing inapppropriate for younger ages but easy to enjoy still for older teens and early twenties. Highly reccommened great author looking forward to more.

Victorian Era reads aren't my typical go-to-books, in fact I can't even count on one hand the number of Victorian Era books I have read in my lifetime, but when I saw that this book had some really great reviews on Amazon and was only ninety nine cents, coupled alongside the fact that it had a sort of "Pride and Prejudice" and "Becoming Jane" feel to it (my two favourite movies of all time), I didn't think I could really go wrong in reading it. I am happy to say that this book was amazing and by far the best ninety nine cent E-book I have bought to date. Heck, I would even spend a good twenty dollars on a hard-copy of this book because I enjoyed it so much.Though I have read mostly reviews in favor of this book, I have read some reviews where people have rated it quite badly. These reviewers cite the behavior of the characters of this book as to why they rated it so low (they say that the people during the Victorian Era would have never behaved in this matter, that they were all concerned about propriety and whatnot, while the characters in this book weren't all that concerned about such matters- and therefore that this book is highly unrealistic). I personally don't feel like the authenticity of the behavior makes all that much of an impact on the story overall and I feel like we have to take into consideration the fact that none of us currently living lived during the Victorian time period and so while we have an approximation of how the people of this time lived, based upon books and historical recollections, these are just approximations and not concrete fact, furthermore, this book doesn't claim to be realistic, it is about werewolves for crying out-loud (as much as it pains me to admit that they aren't real... ;) ). Camille is such a strong female character both physically and mentally and is quite selfless. As for Nathaniel? Swoon-worthy obviously! But even better, he is such a multi-faceted character, a character who you are entirely intrigued/ enticed by and who you cannot help but want to know more about. All in all, I loved this book and I highly recommend it! It isn't your typical YA werewolf book by any means! The lore behind the werewolves is quite unlike any other werewolf story I have ever read before. And this book can truly make those who were iffy on Victorian Era reads a lover of them!

Maybe I was expecting too much with this book. I found this recommended on Pinterest, and while it is written for young adults, I gave it a try. The love story was forced, and I was not the least bit interested in the male lead. In fact, I found him childish, immature, and completely unattractive. Camille seemed fickle and immature as well. The story line was fine...until the last chapter. There was a huge build up, so you are anticipating this dramatic cliffhanger (there were only 9 pages left). Instead, I felt like the ending was rushed, leaving me frustrated. I will not be reading the sequel to this novel because I honestly do not care one bit what happens to the characters. That is the sign of a poorly written book. Also, there were many grammatical errors in the novel, as well. Poor writing and poor editing.
