A biography that teaches you lessons in life. One of which is not to take yourself so seriously. The book is a collection of stories and real-life expierences. From his days as a southern california beach kid to a northern californian. With so many training books out there is nice to see the other side of a proffessional athlete. Honestly, it is one of the best instructional books out there. He learns througout his career that the only way to succeed is to rid himself of superficial goals and concentrate on the moment. Once he realized this the the medals started rolling in. Its a biography that makes you want to meet this person. He explains how difficult such a sport is. So, to apply traditional principles of training will lead you down a slippery slope. This is a motivational book and can apply to all professional, athletes or non-athletes.
