I have a number of Lonely Planet books on Yucatan. The only one, by far, that is (was now that it is so dated) useable, was the edition August 2000... Whereas the 2000 edition was packed with valuable and detailed info on many locations throughout the Yucatan, the newer editions, August 2003 and now this electronic version dated September 2010 concentrate only on large towns and tourist attractions... So if you are wanting to visit "Cancun, Cozumel & the Yucatan" to party (note how Cancun and Cozumel are of equal status in the title)... the newer editions are fine... if you really care about experiencing the culture and visiting many of the ecological or arcaeological sites of the area... look elsewhere... I only give this 2 stars because it does have some value if you use the major towns as a home base for daily excursions... although, I'm not sure how you would know where to go and how to get there if this is the only book you have... sorry to be so harsh, but this exception book went from "the only book needed" to a "borrow it from the library" status... :(
