In 1994 he published the first edition of his renown historical bullfighting novel "Guerrita," followed by "Traje de luces" in 1999, an autobiographical poetry collection spanning the years from 1974-1999. His forth novel "Bajo la noche" appeared in 2008 and constitutes a new contribution to the genre of the bildungsroman. In 2012 appear both in Spanish and English the second edition of his novel "Guerrita" and "Dreams/Sueños" a book of poems that explore the world of dreams.
In the present work Ojembarrena portraits in a series of short stories of musical texture the city of Cape Town and its people.
