I really enjoyed these books.  Captain Lacey's character is multi-dimensional and the other characters are wholly believable.  I cannot wait to read more by this author.

Captain Lacey is great. Just the gentleman that we wish we had roaming the streets and helping people now. The books are well written and I highly recommend them to anyone who likes period mysteries.

These are wonderful books . Captain Lacey is one of my new favorite detectives. The characters are wonderfully flawed -- historically relevant, and the plots are filled with good, unexpected twists. These books are "page-turners" -- enjoy!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this set! Come on, for 99 cents, you get this set of amaing mysteries. This author writes on the same level as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. A must read!

I liked the characters and the Regency Era feel. It was a disappointing time when I came to the end of the three novels and two short stories. I will look for more of the Captain Lacey series.

Mystery series about a flawed man and his flaws make him real, but a bit annoying

Best mysteries. Best stories. Best character development. I've only read 3 and I'm hooked. Can't wait to read the next one. Don't pass this series up.

Capt Lacey is a great early 1800s detective. I loved this book so much, now have book 2 & 3 to begin. A great deal to get several books in a set. Lacey is motivated by his strict code of honor, and the bad guys are usually dealt a quick justice.

Very interesting well-written series of regency mysteries and their solutions. Will enjoy reading many more.

Characters and plots move thru books and keep you interested. No great literature but good story telling. Not a fast food but comfort food for snow bound. Ready to buy #2. This was a good buy. Would make a better pbs series than the lawyer one mom

Fantastic series. Normally I read sci-fi/fantasy, but I thought I would give mystery a try. So if you like great mystery, I highly recommend this series

The dialogue made me feel I was in England proper. It is not simple today's English in an earlier time.
