We bought this book. The last Pilkey book we read was the disgustingly over-the-top Super Diaper Baby. Now back to the core series we found the gross out factor is destined to remain high. In this book Harold and George, our heroes, teach their classmates a prank called "Squishies" which will have parents checking the toilet before sitting down for weeks. Their classmate Melvin Sneedly tries to show off an invention that combines two things (like a bionic robot and a hamster). Despite being smart Melvin is not a good kid and he reacts badly to his classmates being less interested in watching him yell at his hamster than trying out a prank. Probably not the best of moves, Harold and George turn Melvin into a spoiled brat monster in one of their comics which pushes Melvin to show everyone how much cooler he is than George and Harold by turning himself into a bionic robot. Too bad Melvin has allergies and sneezes right before the combining. Surprisingly Melvin, unlike the rest of Harold and George's victims, doesn't turn evil until he's assaulted by a tissue man on a school field trip. Then George, Harold and Captain Underpants have to defeat their grossest bad guy yet, and all during cold and flu season. Despite what parents think, kids adore this series. It has the right combination of gross, funny and meat to it. And it does redeem itself by showing that you don't have to get straight As or always be right to be the good guy. It also pokes fun at itself and combines a subtle use of language with the subject matter which helps push middle grade reader boundaries. I'd be surprised if libraries don't already have this series, but parents looking for books to encourage their kids to read for pleasure outside of school should definitely try this series. It's funny, gross, sometimes a little bit scary, but all in a safe way. Contains: Gross jokes and illustrations Recommended for: 9-12 yrs

The book I am reviewing is Captain Underpants and the Big Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy by Dav Pilkey. I give this book four stars because I like the book it. It is funny. Something I don¿t like about it is that Captain Underpants doesn¿t come out until half way through the story. This book is about a really smart kid named Melvin Sneedly who makes a machine. This machine is called Combine-O-2000. This machine morphs things. One day Melvin has some sort of cold and he keeps sneezing. Melvin sneezes, the machine turns on and zaps him. He gets turned into a big nasty booger boy. Melvin is now a big booger boy. Melvin tries to go back to class but everyone was afraid of him. So Melvin thinks he can do anything he wants. When he touches things he leaves a big glob of snot everywhere. So he gets the idea to scare and gross out everyone. It is like he is the ruler of the school. Now Captain Underpants arrives to make Melvin go back to the way he was. When he does something happens¿ I would recommend this book to my classmates because it is funny and it is one of those books that you just want to keep reading. If you don¿t like nasty things I don¿t think you will like it too much. Captain Underpants is the book to read.

This is one of the greatest books i have ever read. It is aimed for kids from 2-5th grade. It is a no holds barred adrennaline filled action fueled thrill ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat. There are many pictures for kids to enjoy and a cool flip-o-rama action picture sequence. If you have a youngster, this will welcome them into reading.

This book is a great book about two students named George Beard and Harold Hutchins that accidentally hypnotize their principle to think he is a super hero and he drinks a super power box of orange juice from outers space. Then his adventures begin in this book there is a mad school brainiac that tries to make himself into a super human robot to destroy George and Harold. Will Captain Underpants save the day? this book would be good for ages 6-14.

It's been very difficult to get my son to actually enjoy reading. Before reading a book, he would first go to the end of the book to see how many pages there were (as if he was being sentenced to reading or something). I brought home Captain Underpants, and now hardly comes up for air. My son is reading, and he loves it!!!

I saw this at the local Target and as an 'older and mature' male was fascinated by the title. Once I started reading I didn't stop laughing. Are we sure this is a 'child's' book? Whoa! Where was this stuff when I was growing up? Badda bing.

The most wonderful thing about Captain Underpants is that, like it or not, these amusing books inspire young readers to read.

Been a long time since I read the last book in this series. Figure finish the series I had started but stopped reading for some reason. Captain Underpants is one of them. I'll admit, the flip pages were kind of fun. Miss flip books. The recap was nice, since I kind of forgot what happened in the series thus far. Anyway, at times this was a little gross. But at least you get a warning for those chapters, so thank you for that. Though the title should of been a giveaway as to what I'll expect from this. Good addition to the series.

The book I read was Captain Underpants. I enjoyed reading the book. I have read it many times. The story is about two boys named Harold and George and they always get into trouble. The principle in this story is Captain Underpants. The book is based upon a boy named Melvin Sneedly. He is a nerd at his school and he got sick of being laughed at. So, built a robot so that he could combine his body with the robot. But when the machine was loading he sneezed and it combined his mucus with the robot and his body. He turned into the boogerboy. He stayed the nasty form for a while untill he went on a field trip to a tissue factory. He got mad turned into a ginormous monster. Captain Underpants faught him and saved the day. I enjoyed the book a lot. The author of this great book would be Dav Pilkey. This is my favorite book. This is the end of my review.

If you like funny comical books then Captain Under Pants and the Big Bad Battle of the Bionic Bogger Boy: The Night of the Nasty Nostril Nuggets is a book for you. In this book, the main goal is to change the bionic bogger boy back into a boy again. Captain Under Pants is a suitable for young kids. I like this book because, it¿s easy to read and filled with funny comics. This book might take a little while to read, but it¿s worth it. It is in logical order and organized by chapters. This book is a great book for young kids. If you like funny comical books them this good book for you!

My 6 year old son absolutely LOVES all of the Captain Underpants books! He has read all of them at least twice each (some, all in one day!) and can't wait to get Part 2 of this one. I read the first one and found myself laughing out loud! I highly recommend any of the Captain Underpants series!
