This is an engaging piece of historical fiction, clearly researched and written as to accurately present a real snapshot into Native American life during the settlement of North America and the differences in culture and religion as the Dutch and French move into their territory. The prose is extremely well written. Lyrical and beautiful. The characters are so well defined, they stay with you after finishing the book. I highly recommend this book. Very enjoyable read.
