It was 1968.
Under a tropical sky, amid the unbelievable splendor of the Caribbean island of Trinidad, Stacey Lakan found herself falling in love with her boss, Marc Spencer, the president of Spencer Chemicals.

Fresh out of high school, Stacey had become Marc Spencer's personal secretary when she joined Spencer Chemicals. Handsome and charming, Marc became the center of her world when she realized that she was becoming attracted to him. She was protective of his privacy and became increasingly jealous of any female visitors that he received. Afraid to give in to these feelings, she tried desperately to deny them without any success. After all, he was a charismatic man and she was young and impressionable, how could she resist his charms.

On the small island of Grenada, under a sultry sky, she finds her attraction for him growing against her better judgment. But he is not available; he's married and he has children. Although her well-meaning friends tried to warn her not to get involved with him, it is too late, she's already hopelessly and irrevocably in love with him.

Can this love overcome these obstacles? Or will it all be too much for her to bear?

This is and awsome book. You can capture the romance since the very begining till the end. The scenery is amazing, its like you are there with the charaters. You can feel their love and their loss. You feel torn between what right and wrong. Does the saying, "In Love and War Everything Goes" really true? Should you do everything in your power to fight for your one true soul mate, despite who might get hurt on the way? Captives of Love really makes you wonder how far love can go. Once you find your soul mate nothing will keep you guys apart. If its meant to be you will find each other even if you are across the world. Like in in this amazing book. Patricia Gabin really captured true love and the meaning of soul mates. I cant wait for her next book!!!! Go out there and enjoy this love story that surpases every obstacle thrown in the way of true love!!!!

Captives of Love is a wonderful story of young love that is totally believeable. It takes you to different places around the beautiful island country of Trinidad and Tobago to Toronto, Canada, even to New York City. The story line keeps the reader interested and it's the kind of love one can relate to. People are blinded by other people's love, that they forget about their own. I'm happy the way it turned out. (: This was a phenomenal book. It was a lovely read, and flowed nicely, while it wasn't short. It wasn't lacking anything, and kept me interested! I loved how they travelled. It was GREAT! I would recommend it, and have recommended it to anyone. Captives of Love is a good book for any collection.

What I like best about this book, it takes you from the tropical islands of Trinidad & Tobago and Grenada, to the busy New York life to the excitement of LA and then to beautiful British Columbia!! Having visted those places, I understand the author's perception in these locations! I enjoyed reading it and did not put it down until I had finished! When's the next one?? Good luck!

Excellent read. Very well written, it captured my attention to where I couldn't put it down. The characters came to life for me, and I felt a connection to all of the locations they found themselves in (thumbs up for Trinidad, and to the author!). Read it and see for yourself!
