Unless I'm stuck for a good book and am trolling amazon to find one, I rarely read the synopsis, especially when the author of the book is one that I trust with all my feels, so I didn't know what I was expecting when I started Capture. As expected when I dive in to a Rachel Van Dyken book, she did not let me down! She took a very serious issue and portrayed it with a beautiful precision that left me falling into the story harder than I thought I would. This story not only created an awareness for me, but she somehow managed to have me laughing throughout the story, despite its depth. I love how she can entice that out of me! In Capture, Rachel not only introduced us to new, stunning characters (DIBS ON ZANE!) but she brought in the big guns with this story and we had a few visitors from my favorite series of hers, and I seriously may have cheesy smiled at the mention of a certain bad boy *grins* Can anyone say #MafiaForever? Her secondary characters play just as big of a role as her first, and makes Capture an entirely enjoyable experience. There was built up anxiety for me in this, because I KNEW something was going to happen, and that lure had me enraptured, waiting to see what was going to happen! What I took away from this story is that love doesn't conquer all, but with that someone by your side, the hard days are definitely more manageable. Thank you, Rachel, for making mine feel that way with your words.

My first Rachel Van Dyken experience was with the gang from Seaside, I read the entire box set in one weekend. I fell in love with not only the characters but RVD herself. This book, like everything else of hers, did not disappoint. I loved coming back where it all started for me, it felt like a homecoming of sorts. This is the story Dani and Lincoln and the chemistry between these two is wonderful! I found myself laughing, sighing, crying and a couple of OMG's may have been thrown in there as well. You get a little look into the lives of the rest of the Seaside gang and there may have been a mention of a certain mafia family member in there as well. I am excited to see where RVD takes us with this series!!! ****I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.****

Anyone who follows my reviews knows I am huge fan of Rachel Van Dyken. She is an automatic buy for me, without even looking at the synopsis. I was thrilled when she revealed she was returning to Seaside. While several characters from the Seaside Series make an appearance, this is a completely new series. You don't have to read any of her previous books to enjoy this one. Since I am a sucker for sexy rock stars, I highly recommend the Seaside Series though. I spent most of this book with a huge grin on my face. Capture is a perfect summer read and feel good romance at its best. It contains humor, minimal angst, and a sweet unlikely love story. Because sometimes, words were the last thing you needed, especially when they couldn't do your feelings justice. From the beginning I was swept up in Dani's story. She is suffering from select mutism after a dramatic event. Despite the seriousness of PTSD, this is not an angst filled read. From the moment Lincoln is brought into the picture, I knew he would be exactly what Dani needs. These two have a unique relationship with quite a few hurdles to overcome. Their banter and connection was fantastic. Despite her inability to talk, they don't have issues developing feelings for one another. "You'll never be able to move forward...until you stop looking behind you." As with all of RVD's books, her secondary characters completely steal the show. Zane adds so much depth and humor; I can't imagine the story without him. I am quite sure he will have book in the near future. I first fell in love with Demetri Daniels in Pull and was so excited to see him again. In fact, several characters from multiple books make cameo scenes. I absolutely love when an author does this! You never truly say good-bye to previous books and couples. Dani and Lincoln have an ending, so don't fear a cliffhanger. While I greedily wanted more, I am certain we will see them in the future books in Seaside Pictures. If you are looking for a quintessential lighthearted romance, this book is for you.

***Confession time... I haven't read Rachel Van Dyken's Seaside Series so I really wasn't familiar with the secondary cast of characters from that series as they made their reappearance in Capture. But what I loved about Capture is that it can be read as a standalone and Rachel Van Dyken introduces all the characters so readers don't feel left out for not reading the Seaside Series.*** Capture by Rachel Van Dyken perfectly captured the emotions of love, healing, second chances and friendship. I adored this sweet, charming, touching and beautiful read!! Right off the opening pages, I was hooked and didn't want to put this book down. Capture is one of those reads that you could easily get lost in and feel the pain, sadness, and emotional vulnerabilities of a young woman struggling with the loss of her parents. What drew me into this story was the emotional and physical journey of Dani Garcia as she tries to cope with the guilt of losing her parents in a car accident. Their death was a burden that triggered Dani to be reclusive and mute. Dani would communicate with her family and best friends via text messages. But when Dani gets hired to be a personal assistant to an upcoming Hollywood Star, Lincoln Greene, Dani is forced out of her shell. Soon she finds herself opening up to Lincoln and the next thing she knew she found herself speaking. As Dani discovers her voice, will Lincoln break her heart when he tries to distance himself from her when he learns that she is only 17 years old? So when it comes down to it, does age really matter when you are in love? Capture was a touching read that truly captured raw emotions. I loved this sweet yet beautiful book. My heart immediately went out to Dani as she struggled with the emotional loss of losing her parents. People experienced and deal with trauma in different ways and I loved that Rachel Van Dyken allowed readers to feel the pain, the hurt, and the sadness that Dani goes through. And as for Lincoln, I instantly fell in loved with his character as he tried to make Dani happy and smile. There is nothing like a story to get lost in and Capture is the perfect book to get lost in and get caught up in a new love story in Seaside. ~Michelle of Four Chicks Flipping Pages

It's been a while since I have read about the Seaside gang. This book helped remind me again why I fell in love with Rachel Van Dyken's writing to begin with. This truly was a beautiful story that talks about trauma and how it can affect certain people and the people around them. My heart ached for Dani, but at the same time I loved how strong she still was. I loved Lincoln, probably from the beginning. This book made me laugh, made me cry and made me swoon. I never wanted it to end. I'm also looking forward to reading more about this group of people. I hope that Zane gets a book, too! Another great book with characters I cannot get enough of! ***ARC provided in exchange for my HONEST review. Thank you!***

This book perfectly captured the feelings of trama, love, pain, happiness and everything in between. Rachel writes books that make me want to sit and chat with all her characters, and this one is definitely one of those. I want to give Dani a hug, a good talking to, and a high five after reading her story. Another one to add to Rachel's long list of hits. Definitely worth the read! Not only do we get to hear more about characters we fell in love with in the other Seaside stories, we also get to know Linc better and I can't forget about Saint (hehehe). I can't wait to get to know him a little better and I look forward to his story in the future!

I LOVE Seaside! I have MISSED Seaside! If I could move to a town based solely on a book series, it would be Seaside, OR!! Capture is the first book in the Seaside Pictures series which is a spin off from the Seaside series. Everyone is back together again, but this time they are filming a movie in Seaside and AD2 is doing the soundtrack. Jaymeson and Pris are two of the stars, which means they only need one more... Let's meet Lincoln Greene!! Linc is Hollywood's newest heartthrob actor and who could blame them. He's sweet, funny, handsome and constantly smiles his award winning smile. He's young and focused and has been in Hollywood for a long time. His only fault is that he's Angelica Greene's brother, but we won't hold that against him. Then there's Dani. Sweet, wonderful Dani! We met her in Fall when she broke our hearts when she was in a car accident that killed her parents. Dani is Pris' younger sister which means that everyone immediately fell in love with her too and now claim her as their own. With all of the trauma she is now mute. Jaymeson is trying to help Dani get out of the house and get her a job. With Jaymeson being as awesome as he is, it's not a regular job, it's being the personal assistant to a famous actor. Will Linc help Dani get back to her old happy self, or will he be the key to her undoing? This is a great continuation of a fantastic series, while being the beginning of an awesome new spin off series. Great job Rachel Van Dyken!!

I received a copy in exchange for my honest review. First let me say I was beyond excited when I heard about this book! Capture is a spin-off to The Seaside Series but you don't have to have read them to understand Capture, it's a complete standalone. Seaside is one of my all time favorite series so when I heard they would be making an appearance in this book I was thrilled! Dani...Where do I begin? You can't help but fall in love with her! Her story is so raw and emotional. Every person takes tragedy differently so when she was in a car accident that killed her parents the trauma was to much and she became mute. Linc, Hollywood's newest heartthrob is assigned an assistant who is mute, he's intrigued, and captured by the beauty. He wants nothing more then to push her limits and make her come out of her shell. What started off as a job as Linc's personal assistance turns so much more. Linc and Dani's story is so real like. Rachel makes you feel vulnerable, you cant help but have all these emotions running threw you. I was captured by this book and devoured it in just a few short hours. I can't wait to see what Rachel has in store for us next! 5 Stars

The Seaside series is one of my favourite series so I was delighted to see that Rachel was penning a spin off series. I would also point out that Capture is a stand alone book with a HEA and you do not need to have read the original series to enjoy this book. No spoilers from me - the synopsis provides a clear idea of what this story is all about. What I will say is that I really enjoyed this book. It had everything that I need to bring a smile to my face while reading; it was sweet, romantic and funny yet packed full of the emotional feels but most importantly it's a great story with fantastic characters - I can't imagine how anyone couldn't fail to fall in love with Dani and Lincoln. I would happily recommend this book and look forward to more from this series. I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Great She is mute because of anxiety. Her brother in law gets her to be an assistant to his star. Lincoln is trying help. Being an actor is hard. He's 22, she is 17 almost 18. But he cares. Can he help her, and her him.

I have to say it right off, I love all her books. I love all her characters. I have found some awesome friends in all her books. Every single one brought me new friends, new adventures, and that is what a book is suppose to do. Thank you Rachel for giving me such enjoyment, such laughs, such tears, such hope.

Rachel is amazing at creating the perfect amount of fun, hilarity and a touch of sadness to capture the essence of the characters she creates. Family is such an important part of this series. Getting to know and learn more about Dani since we last met her in the previous book just made me want to hug her. It takes a hot actor from Hollywood to break down the walls that Dani has put up since the tragedy that struck her and Pris' lives. Linc is not as Hollywood as his image is made to be. Dani is forced to work as his assistant and is surprised at how down to earth he is. They form a friendship which is huge for Dani. She gains confidence and is able to show her family that she is a lot stronger than they think she is. I loved that the author gave us some special guests that come to town for a visit. I am very curious as what is up with Jaimeson's friend Zane and why he came for such a long visit.

This is my first book by Rachel Van Dyken and I'm ready for more! Her characters are fun, witty, charming, interesting. The plot moves, although it is formulaic. But it's really the characters that do it for me. Dani is a seventeen-year old mute, having lost her ability to speak after her parents' death in a car accident that Dani was the only one to walk away from. Lincoln is a 22-year-old Hollywood heartthrob, playing opposite her sister in a movie her brother-in-law is directing. When Lincoln needs a new personal assistant, Dani is thrown into the job. The only trouble is, she doesn't speak, which makes for some totally fun text messages. The two have an instant attraction, which of course is forbidden due to Dani's age and the fact that Lincoln is her boss. But this is romance, so, you know that's not going to last! Plot The plot centers around the relationship between Dani and Lincoln, but Dani's muteness is a big subplot that adds a deeper, more unique level to this story than a typical new adult romance. Set in a small seaside town on the Oregon coast, the characters manage to come across as average citizens instead of mega stars for a good portion of the story. This helps them come across as more relateable than they otherwise would. Characters The entire cast is fantastic, but Dani and Lincoln are particularly well developed. Dani's muteness and Lincoln's parental issues make them both intriguing. The supporting cast is equally interesting, and I suspect that earlier books were responsible for fleshing them out. Even though I haven't read any other books in the series, I didn't need to in order to fully engage with the story or the characters in Capture. The author may have told their stories earlier, but the way she presents them here are well-rounded and deep in their own rights. The Writing Rachel Van Dyken has a unique voice that is youthful, witty, and charming. She does an outstanding job of differentiating the two first-person points of view. The Ending I enjoyed the ending and thought the author wrapped up the plot points in a satisfying way, while giving us a glimpse into the world of the character we'll get to know more about in the next book in the series. Top Five Things I Enjoyed About Capture 1. Dani's relationship with AD2. Her two best friends are rock stars, but their relationship is grounded and super sweet. 2. Dani's wit. Her snarky texts are awesome and her personality shines through her written words. 3. Zane. He's a fascinating character with so much potential. I can't wait to read his story. 4. The setting. I love the Oregon coast and the locale is perfect for this story. 5. Forbidden romances. Because they offer up SO much opportunity for unresolved sexual tension and conflict. Bottom Line Capture is a sweet love story with an outstanding cast of characters and witty writing. Disclaimer I was provided a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

So I may have broke my own rule and bought Capture when creating Tuesday Treasures Vol. 3 – Beautifully Blue. I couldn’t help myself, I read the blurb and I had to have it. It taunted me with a unique story of a seventeen year old girl who has gone mute due to a tragic accident. Plus, I have read Rachel Van Dyken in the past {You can see my review of The Bet on my blog} and I really liked her style of writing. I mean, what did I have to loose, right? I am so very glad that I broke that silly and hard to follow rule because there is not a single thing I didn’t like about this book. It was perfection. I read this book in a single day not wanting to put it down for anything, {Although I did because I have small babes to care for}. Capture has so many traits of a book that I go weak in the knees for, like actors and musicians. There is something about how “the other half” live and the excitement of making music and movies that gets me every time. Then there is the insanely supportive and tight-knit group of family and friends that causes my heart to smile. Dani also went straight for my heart with her sarcastic comments {or texts in this case} and ability to dish whatever is served her way, especially with Lincoln. And last but not least, the hero of this story, Lincoln, is a genuinely good guy. I love genuinely good guys. Of course, my ultimate weakness is a romance story that causes me to swoon and my heart to grown three sizes; all the people involved are wonderful people who very much deserve every bit of happiness that Rachel Van Dyken can write for them. This is a feel good romance, I laughed and swooned and got protective, but this is also a story of loss and overcoming the unfair twists and turns that life throws out. Dani feels like she is covered in a darkness that has her going through the motions of life. Dani begins to see all the beauty and light that surrounds her and I loved every minute of her story. P.S. If you read this book, you will meet Zane. He will intrigue you beyond measure and leave you with an urge to eat marshmallows. We get his story in May 2016!

4.5 stars! Rachel Van Dyken really knows how to get my attention. I really enjoyed this book and now I'm wondering why I didn't read her Seaside Series before now. I've had the books sitting on my e-reader but never picked one up. That certainly will change after reading this book. Capture is a spin off from the Seaside series. It's got no bearing on the story, although characters from the other series do make appearances. Capture is hard to describe. It's got all of the hallmarks of a Rachel Van Dyken book. It's laugh out loud funny. The dialogue and banter is amazing and so is the chemistry between the characters. There's an emotional intensity to the story that resonated and everyone has their weaknesses. It all adds up to make a great story. I really liked Dani. For someone who is vulnerable, she has this inner strength that makes appearances at all the right times. I loved how snarky she was, even if she wasn't vocalizing all of her thoughts. I liked Lincoln too. He's funny, more down to earth than expected, dedicated to his craft, and willing to admit he made a mistake. There were a couple of times when I wanted to tap him on the back of his head and ask him what his deal was, but then he'd do something to redeem himself. The two of them certainly gave off sparks around one another. I was slightly bothered by their age difference, but not because it was a large gap, just because it didn't feel right. Of course Dani's experienced things others her age haven't and she was mature and responsible for her age so that dissipated quickly. Other than that there was a slight discrepancy in the story that I picked up on, but other than that everything was great. I loved meeting all the people Dani was close to and relied on. I loved seeing how she was cared for. She was still healing from losing her parents and they weren't rushing or hurrying her. Not only will I be going back to read the other books preceding this one, but I will be eagerly looking forward to the next one. I hope it is Zane's turn to get his story told and to find love.
