Hometown girl
Emma Heart is the sweet, loyal hometown girl that everybody loves. Born and raised in Garrett's Point, there isn't anywhere else she would rather be. Even after college, she came back to her small town to teach Kindergarten. Always the eternal optimist, all is right with the world until it all comes crashing down around her.
Tragedy strikes rocking her strong foundation of faith and has her coming to the aide of her best friend's seven-year-old daughter.
On the fast track
Jack Denton is on the fast track to partner in his Richmond, VA law firm. Working non-stop, he has no time for anything else but case files.
Relationships are not a part of his vocabulary. He has acquaintances that he occasionally wines and dines with the mutual understanding the end result is meant for nothing more than mere shared pleasure between two consenting adults.
His orderly, fast-paced life comes to an abrupt halt at the untimely death of his sister and her husband, leaving him as the guardian of his seven-year-old niece, Olivia.
At a crossroad
Intending to retrieve his niece, list his sister's house and hire a nanny – all in a week's time – Jack finds the tasks much more daunting than he imagined. His own grief is nothing compared to that of his niece, and with no experience on how to handle either, Jack takes the hand extended by Emma to help Olivia adjust and prepare for the move to Richmond.
Garrett's Point begins to pull Jack in as the citizens come together to support their own in a time of need. Jack doesn't even know who his neighbors are back in Richmond. Apparently in Garrett's Point, everybody knows your name.
With assistance from the lovely kindergarten teacher, Jack learns to open his heart and let Olivia in. The problem is Emma has found a place in his heart as well. More and more Jack is finding the thought of leaving Emma not so pleasant, but he has a career plan he cannot put on hold for much longer, or he risks losing everything he has worked so hard for.
As time runs out, will Jack choose the path up the corporate ladder, or will he listen to his captured heart and choose love? Emma knows he will never be happy in a small town and sacrifices her own feelings for the happiness of his.
Jack will have his work cut out for him if he intends to capture Heart.

Another winner for Savanna Grey. I loved Captured Heart from beginning through the last page. I typically don't start a series until most if not all the stories are available. I am a very impatient person when it comes to stories. This holds true for this story as I now have to wait for the next one to come out. This story however sounded so good, I just couldn't wait for them all. It is a mixed blessing. I want them all now. Let me be clear, this story can and does stand on it's own. At first the characterization appeared to be a bit loose, not really solid. As the story progressed though, the characters became more and more clear as well as their relationships with one another. I loved Emma and Jack, they were so well suited for one another and sweet little Olivia was icing on the cake. Now onto Conflicted Hearts, Kathryn and Grady's story :). I recommend this story to 14+ due to adult content.

Captured Heart is the first in Savanna Grey’s Garrett's Point Novel series. I loved this story. Emma Heart is a sweet and smart twenty-something kindergarten teacher with a heart as big as the Chesapeake Bay. When tragedy strikes, Emma is left with the joint responsibility of raising seven-year-old Olivia, the daughter of her best friends Dana and Jeff. Olivia is Em’s God-daughter, and the absolute apple of her eye. Olivia’s other appointed guardian is Dana’s brother, Jack, who (coincidentally) Emma has been in love with since she laid eyes on him at Olivia’s first birthday party. Jack is a high-powered Richmond attorney with a singular focus on his career, but when faced with the obligation as Olivia’s joint guardian, Jack begins to struggle with his priorities. And if the pressure of decisions about Olivia’s well-being weren’t enough, the added distraction of the beautiful blond kindergarten teacher doesn’t make his decisions any easier. Captured Heart is a lovely, sweet story. Author Savanna Grey explores the difficult issue of loss and grief in this careful and gentle story. The characters are well-developed and believable. I particularly enjoyed the supporting cast – Emma’s group of girlfriends who are all loving and supportive of each other, and particularly loving and supportive of Emma and Olivia. Their support becomes particularly formidable when Emma’s feelings for Jack threaten to break her heart. For the story itself, I would give Captured Heart 4-1/2 warm and tender stars. Now for the difficult part. I was provided with an advanced read copy of the book for my review. Unfortunately, the copy that I received contained story inconsistencies, and numerous grammatical and mechanical errors. The errors were enough, at times, to detract from the storytelling itself. For those reasons, Captured Heart earns an overall 3-1/2 stars. It is my hope that the final version has been edited and corrected so that the reader can enjoy the story without the disruption of errors.

I received this book and as arc for an honest review. This book is a rollercoaster of emotions. It starts with Emma and her friends going on spring break. A traumatic event rips Emma’s life apart and she has now been throw with a responsibility of raising her best friend’s daughter with the help of her best friends brother. It shows the ups and downs the love and hate between them both, and the sadness of a child going through a tragic loss. This is your typical love romance novel, but still very well written. I start reading this book going from laughing to crying to smiling again. I would classify this book as a brain candy, it’s an easy read, and for the sexy scenes it leave a lot to the reader’s imagination so if you don’t like graphic sex scenes, I would recommend this book for you!! This book sucks you in and won’t let you go till read the last word. I can’t wait to read more of her books, and see how all the other characters come to life. This is a must read for anyone who loves a good romance book that doesn’t involve a lot of thinking, just a good old romance that makes you smile laugh cry and yell!! Over all I would give this book a 4 out of 5 Book reviewed by Jessica Z Reviewed courtesy of nerd alert book love

Complimentary copy provided by author for an honest review. Savanna Grey keeps getting better and better with each book she writes! Captured Heart is the first book in the Garrett's Point series, and let me tell you, I could not put this book down! Captured Heart is the story of Emma and Jack who have been in each others lives, but are thrown together because of some tragic events. Let me tell you, get your tissues ready! These two are extremely attracted to each other but are trying to do what's right for Olivia. Finally they give in to their attraction and together they are amazing! But, Jack being a guy messes it up! I loved the characters in this story, all of Emma's friends, Jack, Olivia, everyone. They were friends that you want as your own (yeah I know they are fictional, but these are the kinds of friends that you wish you had more of). They will protect each other, bring you up when you're down, push you when you need to be pushed, and be there as a shoulder to cry on. Yes this is Emma and Jack's story, but I also believe this is a story of friendship. Savanna's story telling is sweet and romantic and her characters are amazing. The story's sex scenes are sweet and not over the top graphic (which is a nice chance of pace). Olivia is so sweet and I can only imagine what it would be like to have to go through the things she had to go through at such a young age. Having Jack and Emma there as a pseudo family I believe helps her, and helps the two of them get past what has happened. One of my favorite lines was "Uncle Jack likes Aunt Emma!", basically because it shows how perceptive children can really be. If you haven't read any of Savanna's books yet, Captured Heart is the perfect one to start with. I can't wait for the next book in the series and to get to know the characters of Garrett's Point even more. This story (and all of her books) are so beautifully written and just make you feel good inside when you are through with them.
